  1. Yeah you need to manage his innings. Might as well give him a break before at least 1 (maybe 2-3) are dealt.
  2. I assume it will happen when guys are dealt and Rojas is released.
  3. Brooks, you hit a dong yesterday and we took you off the IL. You’re going to ride the bench.
  4. Boras client so likely wouldn’t be here 5 years, if he was even good the next 2.
  5. If he has to be added to the 40-man in the offseason, sending him down in Spring Training would burn an option anyway. I don’t know his status there though on if he needs to be added or not.
  6. I’ll put your mind at ease: they likely aren’t moving Benintendi.
  7. If they pulled him for a trade, I would think he would have actually been traded. Looks more like a case of the team was up a lot and gave him a few innings off.
  8. Why is Colson at 3B? Does it have more to do with getting Sosa in at 2B?
  9. Yep. Been a tough last few years. I envision similar career trajectory for both Cannon and Burke.
  10. And the year the Rangers won a World Series.
  11. I wish that were the case ha but also, probably why they brought in Sabol.
  12. I agree and fine with that for now but not sure either one can hit enough for that spot long term.
  13. I know and I’m responding to a comment where if the roster was built for both to start at C/DH and having a rando third catcher who basically has no value other than he might catch in an emergency. Though I’d rather just risk losing the DH in a meaningless year (same goes with next year).
  14. Yeah, just alternate them at C and DH and just have some random older veteran wanting to hang on to his career that can be a mentor or Blake Sabol (a guy who has also played 1B and OF) as the "in case of injury" guy.
  15. Agreed, which is why I wouldn't be surprised at all if one is moved for say, an OF prospect of similar value.
  16. Yeah, it would really depend on if they decide to move one of Teel/Quero or transition one of them to another position long-term. If it's keeping him as the third catcher on an MLB roster so both Teel/Quero can be in the lineup, I'd rather just move him while there is interest and let some other catcher rot on the bench to be used in am emergency situations.
  17. Having a good season, cheap, under control for another year, but 34 years old, I'm absolutely selling now.
  18. I think he makes sense for the Astros who seem to want to operate on a tighter budget.
  19. I'm not even counting Clevinger since he should never be on this team again, but Gilbert has also been a starter. And Martin Perez is also coming back at some point. Syndergaard like you said.
  20. Yeah, without the track record and being a free agent at the end of the year, no team is going to give up a haul. That said, he's still probably their best trade piece.
  21. My guess to who is moved (or at least who should be): Luis Robert Jr OF (fucked up not trading him sooner but time to move on and include cash) Mike Tauchman (cheap and has another year of control but 34 years old, he's one of their better trade chips so just deal him and worry about who plays of the OF next year in the offseason) Adrian Houser SP (cheap, free agent after this year) Austin Slater (good numbers against lefties again) OF Aaron Civale SP (has to pitch well his next 2 starts) Steven Wilson RP (has 2 more years of control, close the book on the Cease deal) Korey Lee (buried on the depth chart a bit and has interest) Dan Altavilla (has pitched well, now sell) And then I'm going to guess a surprise trade like Sosa, Martin, Burke, Cannon (I feel like those last 3 have similar floors to where they are mid-rotation starters at best long-term and honestly just feel like filler right now). Feel like there's enough guys in AAA (guys who deserve a look and other fodder) that can come up and hold down the fort.
