  1. They want 4-5 top prospects/players with low service time (think 5+ years of control).
  2. And then didn't Jimmy chime in saying he heard the same? Or was it Dave responding to Jimmy after Jimmy posted it?
  3. Hopefully he comes back and is somewhere in the middle of second half 2021 and first half 2022. I wouldn’t expect his numbers to be as good as last year but better than he’s been the first half of this year.
  4. And he's only thrown like 3 innings professionally. He's basically the Cuban Matt Davidson.
  5. Yeaaaaah they’re not trading for Soto guys. You can bet on that.
  6. Not exactly the kind of move the Sox would make either to be honest.
  7. I just don’t think it would scare many teams away, including Corbin that is. Just lowers price for said teams with better farms. Dodgers would be fine.
  8. Homer for the first time
  9. I wouldn’t expect him to get much beyond the 2023 season. His clients have taken 1 year pillow contracts in the past.
  10. Gotcha. Most people who are on board with the idea know it would be more for next year. I say you can do both: sign him and grab a rental. Soto is obviously a pipe dream.
  11. To be fair, no one is talking about Conforto for this year. It wouldn’t stop them from getting a rental. You get him working with an organization’s staff this year and bank on him being 100% for next year.
  12. MLBTR just posted an article about corner outfield being a need for the Sox. Reading this thread you wouldn’t think so!
  13. True but are you trading Kopech and Vaughn plus others for him? Just don’t really see them beating other teams with deeper farms.
  14. Refer back to the point that we don’t have the pieces without trading from current core.
  15. Yeah I'd be all for Nimmo myself. Though Sheets, Pollock, Engel are guys I wouldn't count on fighting for 4 spots. Engel is a backup, Sheets is a DH and not needed if they grab a left-handed bat, and Pollock I don't really expect to be here or platoon at best, unless he turns it around this year.
  16. They don't have the bullets to make a deal for Soto nor would extend him.
  17. There's room for both Vaughn and Conforto to both be in the lineup next season. Doesn't have to be either/or. Plus, Engel can still get plenty of PT against lefties for Conforto and late inning defense for Vaughn/Eloy.
  18. And why is someone acting like we already have too many good players? And also cites Pollock as being one of them? Definitely plenty of space to take a chance on someone.
