I think that was Guerrero. He means Stephens was a 40-man casualty that was removed during the season.
-
With all the injuries this season, these are two guys (the Jordans) who probably would have gotten a call-up if not for their bad year (in Guerrero's case, 2018 as well).
-
Same. But no better time than the next 2 months. If he ends up getting his shot next year, something went wrong.
-
Left-handed bat be damned. Let's call him up to DH instead of running Reed out there every day.

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
Bob Sacamano replied to Sockin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well the good thing is, they don't have to move Colome since he has the extra year. They aren't going to move him in a desperation move. I feel confident about that. They can stand their ground. -

Yeah it's a good gamble as a third piece for sure. -
And then Diaz bounces back and grabs 50 saves and an era under 2 next year because Rays.
-
Nothing is guaranteed. I would bet on them adding 2 SP and easing/building Kopech back in the minors. It'll be about 18 months since he pitched in a game. He ain't opening the year in the majors.

I was thinking about that too. If they think they can compete next year, you're subbing out Stroman for Syndergaard which is a downgrade (granted this year Stroman is better and it sure does seem like Syndergaard misses time every year) but you probably get better prospects back than what you gave up for Stroman so you are improving your farm. And they could always sell off pieces next year if they want. But in my opinion, they should tear it down.

Teams are interested in Nova? Trade him!
Bob Sacamano replied to Moan4Yoan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
At this point in the year with this team, eating innings isn't that important as rosters will expand and bullpens will be over 10 guys deep for the final month. Plenty of long relievers will be in the pen. Just something else to consider. -

Pretty sure there aren't any. -

In a season like this, I don't really care. -

Yeah can we get an updated title? -
What do you expect them to do exactly? And they probably won't announce a Covey replacement until late afternoon tomorrow (return of Tim Anderson perhaps with 12 pitchers being on the roster?).
-
So the deadline is in a little over 48 hours from now? How boring.

What would it take to get Noah Syndergaard?
Bob Sacamano replied to KnightsOnMintSt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I would think the Mets. -
You can even open the year with both Wacha and Lopez and give them time and determine who should move to the pen (or the minors if Lopez struggles) when Kopech is ready.
-
If Quintana's option is declined (I don't think that it will personally), I would be open to bringing him back.

The fragility of some fans on this board recently...
Bob Sacamano replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in Pale Hose Talk
They were bound to regress. They were almost a .500 team with basically one starting pitcher and a couple relievers . Not exactly a recipe for success.
