All that matters is that Giolito, Moncada, Anderson, and Eloy are having nice seasons. Cease is up finally getting experience and unfortunately, Lopez took a few steps back. All we are looking for this year is improvements from the guys expected to be here in the future and see if anyone else can surprise us and join them.
Lol nope. People literally said he could play his way into a backup role. Doesn't appear to be the case. I'll find the Tilson thread later when I have time.
Soxtalk gonna Soxtalk. A player comes up and has a good week = he's part of the future. Player comes up and has a bad week = hes awful and will never improve. Obviously not part of rebuild.
Classic Soxtalk.
He's signed for 2 more, option for a third. They're OF is filled with Riley, Acuna, and Markakis and in 40 games, Inciarte has been bad this year.
Granted, Donaldson is only on a one year deal and Riley can move back to 3B full-time.
And with Abreu re-signed to a 1 year deal (hopefully only one year), they let him walk after next year and Sheets plays 1B until Vaughn is ready to come up. Then he moved back to DH.
The way the young guys on the roster are playing, along with adding a starter or 2, a RF, and a couple RPs, they don't need Robert to be great next season. He can develop over the course of next year.
Why does him getting called up next year mean he will suck as opposed to seeing one month this year? Him getting called up this year doesn't mean he's automatically going to be good next year. And who knows, maybe they will call him up next year and then struggle will be minimal in the beginning only.
I was honestly surprised at how Collins looked the first time I saw him in an MLB game this year. From what you read about him, you would think he was a lot fatter when he really isn't that big.
