Exactly, if you pick up another starter and Dunning outpitches him the rest of the way, it would be hard to justify giving him a start. He's absolutely taking the ball every 5th day the rest of the season though.

No one is saying we shouldn't give him time or he will never be good. We are talking about this specific season and pitching in the playoffs THIS year.

If he does, lets hope we are up 2-0 or 3-0 in series.

Yeah but in the proposed scenario of us standing pat in the post, Dunning is bumping Cease out of a playoff spot but you need 4 starters and Cease would arguably be in the top 4.

4 starts plus playoffs but I hear ya. It's tough to gauge. Lynn is better than Bundy but also 6 years older. Would it currently be ranked Lynn, Bundy, Gausman in order of the price of players?

Their farm is deep. Someone posted a tweet yesterday of how their farm still looked (post-other trades) and it was still good.
