  1. Look...I get it. He wants Castillo to catch Lopez. I know it's not normal, but put McCann at DH or give him at 1B glove or something.
  2. LOL all good.
  3. Adley, Witt, or Abrams. One of those 3 will be there for the taking.
  4. Uhhhh have you noticed the date that this thread and most of the posts started? On the previous page, it literally jumps from "March 1" to "5 hours ago" (earlier today almost 3 months later).
  5. There was an article that talked about how he could be the Sox version of Lester with the Cubs or Verlander with the Astros. I feel like they can either grab him in the off-season or go with Keuchel in a couple of weeks. Of course that only makes sense on a mutl-year deal.
  6. Phew. I'm thankful that you're a baseball scout.
  7. Ah gotcha. Sorry about that.
  8. Or they wait a year and it turns out this season was a fluke.
  9. You'd wait 3 days? Lol that's like saying you might as well do it now.
  10. Yeah he said getting traded to the Sox was the best day of his life. Now that hes feeling fully healthy, hopefulling he can stick somewhere on the team long-term.
  11. Why would we talk about it?
  12. Bit of both.
  13. Yeah there's definitely plenty of teams with catcher injuries that would take him for league minimum.
  14. So backup players are exempt from extensions? Got it.
  15. Right, and to the point where him being a backup doesn't hurt us if someone else grabs the starting role (Collins) or they sign someone (Grandal).
  16. And that is over a year away. About 16 months to be exact.
  17. Saw that Melky Cabrera is the batting avg. leader for RFs. What a steal on a minor league deal.
  18. Yep...right now you have Giolito, Lopez, Nova, Covey, Banuelos (assuming he makes his next start, otherwise there is literally no other options as we saw Monday in a bullpen game lol).
  19. Pitched out of jams with his sinker which is good. But you're right, a bit of luck for sure.
  20. Without Rodon, there is definitely room for another SP. It seems like Banuelos is nothing more than a reliever.
  21. What a game. A grand slam and a triple play? Wow.
  22. You think there's a better chance of him getting traded than released? That's crazy. The Sox have cut guys in the past while owing them a good chunk of money for the season.
  23. Yeah more than likely.
  24. I'm just saying I don't want those types. I would literally rather spread $65m around 2 or 3 guys if at least one of them is a premium talent than spread it around 5-6 over the hill veterans to fill a roster (aka what we know them for when they would try to compete).
  25. Yes as long as they'e going to spend a good amount of that on premium talent. Not the usual innings eater to about $10 mill, a couple relievers at ~$8 mill each, stop gap veteran outfield type, and veteran stop gap DH. Like the moves we're used to when they "spend money" or "try to compete."
