I think the plan would be for him to play 3B if we do not get Machado. I could see Rondon getting time at 2B this year if Moncada does make the switch full-time. I can't find anything on him, but has Rondon played more middle infield than 3B in his minor league career? And if so, is he good?

Yeah the Hosmer deal is definitely an overpay, but the last 3 years of that deal are only $13 mill a year. So more front-loaded the first 5 at $21 mill.

As much as I don't want him opting out after year 2 or 3, if that's what it took for him to sign here, I would still do it. Let him and his wife experience living in Chicago. The Sox also are not surrendering a draft pick for him, which is a reason people give for not wanting to gamble on guys like Kimbrel for a year. It would be a similar idea to when the Sox tried trading for him when he had a year of control left. Maybe he doesn't opt-out. Maybe you negotiate a different deal before he opts out. Of course, you wouldn't want the opt-out until at least year 4 though. Long-story short: early opt-outs wouldn't be a deal breaker for me lol

Same. Probably saw about 30 movies in the 13 months I had it. I think I paid $10 the first month and then that $90 (or whatever) for the year came out. And I too barely went the last few months of my yearly subscription. Just a few movies I wanted to see that I was able to take advantage of with by selecting some shit movie I didn't want to see. When I saw the new Halloween movie, I think I selected some chick flick that was out at the time lol and it was just me who went up to the counter so it looked a bit creepy lol

Yeah Span was still productive last year. He's likely only a corner guy now. They should go with whoever their best defensive CF in-house currently is and then 2 of the above. I think Marwin may be a little too expensive for them though.

Ha I used it up until my 1-year subscription deal was over in November (I think). I still took advantage of it by going to the AMC in Naperville with one of my buddies who lives out that way. They don't have select seating yet so it was really easy to get away with. Select a ticket for the one movie they had a showing for (usually some movie I did not want to see anyway) and then just walk into the movie I wanted to see. Don't think the 17/18 year old employees on their phones really cared. And no theater really should since they were making the same amount off the ticket anyway.

Happy Death Day was the first movie I saw with Moviepass (RIP) in 2017. Figured it was a good movie to test Moviepass on and figured it wouldn't be all that good but it was something to watch. Ended up being a sneaky good movie. I felt the second wasn't as good, but I still really enjoyed it. Kind of a mix of all genres in the second one adding a little bit of science fiction in it.

I disagree. Do what it takes to get him here and then re-negotiate when the time comes (if needed). It makes more sense than trading for him when he only had one year of control left.
