  1. Nice trade for the Brewers for a guy who has nowhere to play. The lottery tickets (Hill and Valerio) I mean.
  2. I have a feeling Avi will be back if they don't sign Harper. I do have a feeling Avi is also waiting. If we don't bring him back, he would be an upgrade in the Indians OF.
  3. They very rarely get picked up by both sides.
  4. Doubt there is a mutual option. Those are pointless. Maybe player options. Also, wasn't it reported they are willing to go over 10 the same day it was reported they are only willing to go 7? What's true?
  5. It was more of a: "this is a boring ass off-season" type of discussion. I agree that it would never happen.
  6. You'd pretty much have to trade Abreu in this scenario, right? Unless you flipped Schwarber to another AL team.
  7. NFL always does bullshit announcements on big MLB days so no way. Plus, it's probably not a big enough move for that angle.
  8. I think he will get an MLB deal. A part of me still expects him to get re-signed if we miss out on Harper.
  9. Danny Valencia as a bench bat/platoon with Alonso. #friendsofmachado
  10. "Sorry guys. A senior member of the white sox front office was called away from family holiday to finalize something the weekend of Christmas. That was my information, and I dont know what happened from there." Which part of this implies he knows which move(s) the team is going to make? It seems like he knows something is going to happen but doesn't know what.
  11. "Sox have a move in place. I dont know what it is, but they have one. Guessing it will be announced after Christmas. #sources" ^This is what he said. He didn't know anything other than there was a move potentially happening. This is the second time you've said you've heard something but had to wait to hear back from your guy. Don't post unless you are actually going to share. Get the ok to say share before posting that you know something otherwise what's the point if you aren't going to share, other than having your ego stroked?
  12. To answer that Tweet's question, they really don't need either to consider the off-season a success. Moving Santana's contract and getting Segura while not giving up much is a win, moving Hoskins back to 1B is good, McCutchen and Robertson are good additions. Plus, they can add someone like Gio, another reliever (Britton /Kimbrel/Ottavino), and Moustakas as well with the money saved not signing one. I would consider that a great off-season.
  13. Seriously, can we stop sharing Tweets from random people?
  14. I don't think it matters that much to him (or if it does, I don't think it's as high of a priority as other factors). It made sense last year when he demanded to play SS so that he can try to market himself as both a SS and a 3B going in free agency.
  15. Right. And you would 100% sneak a pic. Move along people. Nothing to see here.
  16. I just don't see anyway they give out 2 $350m dollar deals in one offseason.
  17. Could always deal Robles or Eaton for another area of need. Or keep the 21-year old Robles down another season.
  18. There's more factors than just the amount of teams interested in either.
  19. "Nationals latest offer to Bryce Harper reportedly "much more" than $300m." https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/01/nationals-latest-offer-to-bryce-harper-reportedly-much-more-than-300mm.html Queue the, "I doubt this is real" comments. If we don't sign Machado, it seems like it's either the Sox or Nats for Harper.
  20. Earlier, I kind of thought he might be. The Orioles connection, East division fans/reporters would hate the Yankees more than the rest of baseball. This could have been a huge troll job on the fans.
  21. Yes, as long as they are willing to spend the money.
