Man are you serious? Machado would be the perfect piece to go with the core going forward seeing how young he is and how the cheap the rest of the team could potentially be. They had Machado by the balls and they let him get away.

I feel the same. Usually, this an exciting time of year. Baseball is back, the weather is going to start getting warmer. But it never really felt like Spring Training started due to the Machado saga and off-season dragging on. This whole thing just zapped any enjoyment and excitement for me.

But he's going to live there majority of 6 months. The statement has nothing to do with the weather either.

Maybe just Eloy's debut and Cease's (home) debut. But knowing me, I'll come into free tickets or be bored on a random weekend night or asked if I want to tailgate one day and I won't hesitate. Dammit.

Agreed. I'm not sure how much time I want to even dedicate to them this year. Definitely continue catching up with and finding new hobbies. I'll definitely save my money and not go to the 10-15 games I normally go to a year.

0% chance that is ever a lineup for the Sox. They won't solely rely on guys in house. They will sign guys (definitely not Machado/Harper caliber) and others won't pan out or get moved.

I looked at the Giants payroll and luxury tax numbers last week (or two weeks ago) and it looked like if they cleared a couple salaries (2 of a couple relievers and Panik), they could afford Bryce for about $35 mill AAV and stay under the luxury tax threshold. And the site I was on included the $14m in benefits in each number.

Seems like a great way to welcome the Sox back into the mix.

Honestly, nothing should shock us at this point.

The only hope that I have is the Sox still met with Harper despite knowing he rejected a $300 million offer from the Nats.
