  1. I would expect them on the team next year. Now 2020 I doubt. Unless they sign some high leverage guys this offseason (not sure I see them doing that yet).
  2. Without the injury, it probably would have happened this year. Regarding the borderline 40-man guys, the Sox probably try to move some for PTBNL or cash considerations.
  3. I've noticed as well. Hope all is good with him. I just hope he just listened and took a break from the team like we all suggested that he should.
  4. I wasn't automatically labeling this situation as that. Just that the phrase is true today.
  5. They may have been dug up long ago. People could have been sitting on these for a while until he got to the MLB.
  6. I'm going that Saturday so I'm hoping a game in between gets rained out.
  7. I was originally going to suggest him but yeah it's not relevant at all.
  8. Yeah at the very least, some of the fringe guys get moved for "PTBNL or cash considerations."
  9. ? He didn't modify anything. He said: "how many games has he gone 0fer in that span?" Having no hits and a walk or 2 is still an "0fer." He's talking about hitless games and meant that originally. Edit: after reading the below response, I have no idea what he's trying to say and it's confusing me haha
  10. Still pretty cheap. And a rebuilding team with a low payroll could certainly afford him. His salary won't increase a ton.
  11. A rebuilding team that could give him at bats, yeah.
  12. Yeah they could have held onto him and tried to move him at the Winter Meetings in the days prior to the Rule 5 Draft.
  13. I'd probably go: Anderson SS Narvaez C Garcia RF Palka DH Davidson 1B Delmonico LF Moncada 2B (just get pressure off of him at the top) Sanchez 3B Engel CF
  14. ESPN has to be trolling at this point.
  15. LOL I didn't even think of that.
  16. I'm kinda shocked he made it out of the AL. None of those 6-7 teams can use a lefty? Edit: even more teams considering he has an extra year of control.
  17. Hey hey now. There was a solid hour rain delay before people dipped at the top of the third.
  18. Yeah we'll probably see Tilson, a 3rd catcher (Welington), and then relievers added would be my guess. And then Abreu and Leury (maybe) off the DL at some point.
  19. And still the best team in the NL....fuck.
  20. It sucks but more Davidson in the lineup helps the tank.
  21. That one hit in the second inning from Bobby Wilson was embarassing. Dude is hitting .173 with 2 homers and Delmonico is just a couple steps away from the warning track. Noticed the same for Mauer as well (a lefty with 5 only 5 bombs, though hes good at going the other way).
  22. I also like the theory of the Dodgers throwing in a block on a potential playoff opponent knowing that they would likely go over if they took on his salary, something the Nats wouldn't just do. Would have been interesting to see them blink and let him go as a claim and the Dodgers finishing the year over the luxury tax, something they were trying to reset this year.
