Canario also has no options so you can’t stash him. So Slater/Taylor does basically block him unless you think Robert is 100% getting moved.
-
I don’t even hate the Slater signing. Just thought the rush to sign him and guarantee a 40-man spot was weird
-
He shouldn’t but that’s not my point. Point is it was dumb to jump the gun early on a platoon OF and carry him on the 40-man all offseason when other options would become available due to other 40-man roster crunches.
-
This is why you don’t commit an MLB roster spot to Slater early in offseason. Guy would probably still be looking for a job at unsigned a MiLB deal by now.

Sox looking at building in South Loop

I would bet on a Metra stop going somewhere over there too since the Rock Island goes right by there. -

Sounds like you have no idea how it is now. -
I don’t think it’s that wild to say that since he doesn’t throw hard, he has to have that much more control and hit his spots to be successful. A lot of misses over the heart of the plate and he will get hit around. Having said that, I’m not writing him off now. It’s too early.

Sox Sign Joey Gallo to minor league deal, NRI
Bob Sacamano replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If they didn't tender Vaughn a deal, I would have liked this move more. Plug him into the 5th spot in a platoon role, and see if he can find his home run stroke for half a season. -
Now I am getting this as an advertisement at the bottom of this site lol so weird because I didn't even search it or anything
-
Can they?
-
Padres might as well gamble on Verdugo. Of course, they have that platoon in LF now. If they wanted to add position players and try to catch lightning in a bottle, they might as well have gone Verdugo and JDM at LF and DH.

Salukiiiiis

Basically the only 2 I would maybe try this with, and I would even wait until maybe later in year/next offseason. Try to get it really cheap and buy out a year or two of FA.
-
I think it makes a difference when it occurs. It's not a scenario where Bush wasn't optioned to the minors then had the injury and surgery. He was placed on the Major League IL so he should be getting service time.
-
It’s not that concerning that he needs TJ surgery. And better now before he’s been added to the 40-man where he gets service time on the IL
-
Yeah. Sure it’s nice that they are making changes but we need to see results. The skepticism is fair.
-
I’m with you and think Robert will be moved
-
Well that’s seems like pretty clear evidence. I started looking myself

Sox Sign Joey Gallo to minor league deal, NRI

I'm not even saying he would be a bench player. I'm saying he would be the backup SS., but start at 2B. That doesn't mean I'm saying he just sits on the bench, Mr AI Bot caulfield. -

Looks like Lenyn played 17 games at SS in Winter Ball but I can't see how he is an option to be even a backup. Just seems like they should have signed a backup infielder who primarily can play SS rather than Rojas who's main positions are the 2 IF spots we have enough candidates for. -
Bregman to Red Sox. 3 years/120 million

No chance
