QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 02:39 PM) Didn't foresee Soto having trade value Because he homered in one game? Their value isn't going to change on a game-by-game basis.
-
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 01:44 PM) Exactly, at least give him 20 PA's before you say he's struggling Right. Because he can easily go 6 for his next 6 and be at a .375 average.
-
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 01:35 PM) Is that sarcasm? I think he's saying it's not really a big enough sample to say if a guy is struggling or not.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 01:23 PM) So 2-0 on Cabrera, instead of just telling him to take his base, Shields throws a WP allowing the runner to 3rd. Not a good move from the manager. What?
-
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 01:04 PM) I don't live in the area and I thought Detroit got on a plane yesterday. Don't listen to that flavum guy.
-
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 11:13 AM) First off, if they're setting a rotation with fans in mind, they're playing with fire. I haven't second guessed anything this week- I've first guessed. Today should have been called. The Twins series should have been Shields, Holland, and Gonzalez. Quintana on Tuesday for the Indians home opener. Nah. Q doesn't need 6 days off. Plus, let him pad his stats against the Twins.

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 11:09 AM) What's wrong with that? You'd rather watch Covey? QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 11:11 AM) He started on Tuesday... You're just complaining for the sake of complaining now. This. This is regular 4 days rest. Let him go out there. They can skip Covey and use him as a long reliever until his next start. We will likely need one with this group anyway.

QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 10:19 AM) Not to be a dick here ... but you are complaining about being refunded $3.54 cents ... for a baseball game .... in 2017. You can't even get a BigMac for that price nowadays. And then you go on to say you'd buy $50 of concessions --- so its zero about the money then ... although you reference "value" If you are willing to pay for $50 in concessions you really don't care about value. Take the $3.50 and buy a $6 ticket off stubhub anytime throughout the year. Me thinks you're looking for a reason to be upset. Just enjoy the 10 games you get for the price of one half of a single Cubs ticket..... s***, upper corners are $5 on Sundays at the gate.

Update: Luis Robert has been cleared according to Rosenthal

QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 10:10 AM) He ranked Michael Kopech as the best pitching prospect in baseball. And ranked Moncada low. -

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 09:45 AM) Surprise, surprise. Lately, it seems like anyone with even the furthest ties to the White Sox isn't too great in his eyes. And any mediocre former Sox prospect, like Tatis Jr, is the next Trout. That does seem to be the trend lately. -
Lineup against the lefty, Boyd: 1. Tyler Saladino ® 2B 2. Tim Anderson ® SS 3. Melky Cabrera (S) LF 4. Jose Abreu ® 1B 5. Todd Frazier ® 3B 6. Avisail Garcia ® RF 7. Matt Davidson ® DH 8. Geovany Soto ® C 9. Jacob May (S) CF

QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 09:31 AM) Chicago White Sox @whitesox 7s Prior to today’s series finale vs. Detroit, the #WhiteSox placed RHP Jake Petricka on the 10-day disabled list. Chicago White Sox @whitesox 7s Replying to @whitesox The #WhiteSox have recalled right-hander Tommy Kahnle from Class AAA Charlotte. Forgot what thread I posted this in, but this guy just does not excite me at all. -
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 09:16 AM) Depends on your perspective. With the unbalanced schedule, it makes more sense to load up early on teams that will return to that city. Every series outside the division is one and done. You could do that for the second week of the season though. That way teams can play a guarantee 3 and 4 game series the first week pushing another day off (players complain about too many early day offs) later in the year and then the second week they could aim for more divisional games since the teams on the road the first week would likely open up at home then.
-
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 09:08 AM) I know that. That's why I used the word "mostly". There should have been 12 division games, and the other three should have been in places where weather isn't much of factor. Yeah it makes no sense for Angels-A's, Dodgers-Padres, Astros-Mariners for example to open against each other even though they play in the same division.
-
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 09:02 AM) No announcement yet, but this from Van Schouwen... https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/849972336979836928 See above for what I would do. Red Sox/Pirates already postponed today. The Pirates fly back to Boston next Thursday. That's why you start with mostly division games. Well that's not possible for all teams to play a team in their division.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 08:25 AM) The White Sox run support followed him to Boston too. Didn't get the W but he is certainly the reason they won the game. The record in the team W/L column is more important than individual records.
-
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 11:45 PM) What does this mean? Because he's raking? Yeah. Go-ahead grand slam in the 9th. I have Dyson on my fantasy team. He's given up like 8 runs in just 1 IP so far (Rick Hahn says hi). Dropped him and added Holland.
-
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 10:49 PM) Don't most people like Beer with their Burger? Someone had to do it I think also like an order of Fry with that.
-
QUOTE (Doc Edwards Shot @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 05:37 PM) If you want to go to the makeup game in May, you don't get to stay for the regularly scheduled game that day and make a doubleheader out of it for the price of just one game, correct? Didn't they used to do that when your game was cancelled due to weather? Depends on if its actually a straight double-header which this seems to be. I bet it changes.
-
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 04:09 PM) Not sure why you are so upset with that response. He literally said to contact him at the end of the month and he will get you tickets to a later game. Yeah it sounds like he got exactly what he wanted.
-
QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 04:07 PM) Laurence Holmes just found that out the hard way. Awkward... Lol explain.
-
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 02:38 PM) Clayton Richard shutting down the Dodgers is something to behold The Padres will lose a ton of games this season regardless Agreed but it's nice seeing them steal a game from the Dodgers. Hopefully the young guys on their team like Margot, Hedges, and Renfroe have nice seasons.
-
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 02:25 PM) Look out Padres, here come the Sox! Glad the Padres beat the Dodgers yesterday, a team that should pound them plenty.
-
QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 01:52 PM) Covey or Ynoa would be the only guys that make sense, unless they're trading a reliever. No way will it be Ynoa. No options left. Serious question, but is anyone else not high on Petricka and wouldn't mind him being replaced? I'm just not sure he's anything special.
