Nationals acquire Doolittle/Madson from As
The Nats might have to make a trade for a MI now like Cozart. He could hold down SS until Turner comes back and then he can be on the bench/Turner can move back to the OF. Can see maybe a Lowrie + Madson move as one of their moves for a RP. And then pursue a Robertson deal. Probably would still have to add another arm even after those 2 moves.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2017 -> 09:38 AM) The Cubs may need Q worse than anyone else, but I don't see them being willing to pay what it would take for Hahn to be able to do that deal. I think the Cubs would find a better price for a guy like Archer than they would for Q. There's a very good chance Archer won't be available. There probably aren't many "guys like Archer" that will be available. And if Archer were, he would cost a lot as well more than likely.

Petricka to DL
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 30, 2017 -> 09:22 AM) Putnam's arm is held together with gum and paperclips, but he's a great reliever when he's the mound. Petricka has never really impressed me. Decent velocity, ball moves a bit, but it's nothing special. He has the look of a run of the mill AAAA reliever. Maybe I'm wrong on that. Agreed 100%. I've just never been huge on the guy for some reason.

Petricka to DL
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 02:04 PM) Wish we had traded Petricka and Putnam when we had the chance. When exactly was that chance? They were both hurt most of last season with limited value in off-season (also due to injury history) and both have barely pitched this season.

Nationals acquire Doolittle/Madson from As
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 10:46 PM) At this point, I think it is an ownership issue. Rizzo had a deal in place for Robertson once already and it was shot down. It seems that their payroll is really tight and they don't want to give up the prospects for the Sox to eat money. I agree. It would appear to be an ownership thing. They didn't want to pay additional salary in December and now they don't seem to want to pay additional prospects along with some cash.

Quintana
The only way I could see packaging Quintana and Robertson together and getting that proposed offer would be the Sox not eating any money on Robertson. If the Sox ate some of Robertson's remaining contract, I would think another piece would be included.

Yankees should still have Gardner, Ellsbury, Judge and Hicks who gets semi-regular at bats this season. They can start rotating them at the DH spot eventually but Holliday should also be back at some point. Granted, it's not 100% that they will all remain healthy once they all grt healthy and back to MLB level.

2017 Video Game Thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 01:30 PM) That sounds almost too easy! Now I might as well do it. Which hard drive did you get? I'll check the brand later, but the size of it is 2 TB. That should work just fine.

Cafardo: Cardinals interested in Avi
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 03:49 PM) Obviously it doesn't effect anything, just odd that you're giddy over a bad outcome for the organization because of an Italian beef sandwich. I really don't think the Sox will even end up trading him regardless (even if I think that they should).

Reverse Standings Thread
Currently 5th pick, but we are tied with the Reds in the standings who would be the 4th pick.

Attendance is Actually up 8.1%
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 12:14 PM) Can you get a good seat on the lower level for under 40 bucks? Yep and you can also pay for a $7 ($5 on Sundays) ticket and sit behind the dugout most of the games.

Should Sox claim Montero?
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 10:59 AM) With what we have gotten out of Smith and Narvaez so far this year, should the White Sox put in a claim on Miguel Montero? I don't think they should but I wouldn't care that much if they did. I would probably just wait for him to clear and go to free agency first so he's at least league minimum.

July 2nd International Period
With the new rules and the hard cap, there should be a lot of good talent to sign for $300k. Sox definitely picked a good year to go over the cap the previous signing period.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 09:20 AM) Plus thing with playing the yankees right now is sox get to see miguel andujar and possibly dustin fowler today with a callup. Maybe guys that might be on sox radar if yankees take a run at Quintana Where did you see that he might get called up?

New York vs. Chicago
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 06:50 PM) oh for FFS I was really hoping to kill the last two hours at work with this game, darn. A ten minute late start changes that? Haha

Could have been Torres...oh well.

Quintana
QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 04:27 PM) You and shack are basically saying the same thing. Not really. He's saying that you would think they would be trying to go for him now and I'm saying how do you know they aren't?

Quintana
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 04:04 PM) The Braves are so intriguing since the deadline timeline doesn't necessarily apply to them...one would think they would be making a push now, as opposed to in a few weeks like many of the other teams. Who's to say they aren't trying to trade for him now (or at least talk to the Sox)? From what Hahn said the other day, it sounds like they've started talking to teams.

New York vs. Chicago
QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 04:08 PM) Andujar got called up today. Doubt he's in the lineup tonight but he's one name we've pined for in trade talks. To MLB squad? Interesting.

Quintana
QUOTE (daggins @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 03:15 PM) Guys, what if, instead of trading Archer, the Rays look to trade for Quintana? Far fetched, maybe, but he'd fit in well with their staff and would slot in as their #2 starter behind Archer. They have Honeywell and Adames in the top 50, and a number of other prospects as well. Just speculatin' here, just shootin the breeze Wouldn't be too far-fetched since they would value his cheap control.

Quintana
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 02:47 PM) I know PR gets a lot of crap around here...and rightfully so. Does the guy have real sources anymore? Does he know anything more than Bruce? Might be piggybacking off the fact there were scouts from 10 teams at the game.

Quintana
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 01:52 PM) Archer most likely will not be traded unless the package offered is an overpay. His contract is incredible value. That and the fact that they are still in the playoff race.

Quintana
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 01:39 PM) We can all be thankful that Quintana has had an excellent June and his value should be coming back where we need it to be. As much as it sucks to deal a pitcher of his caliber, our rebuild really needs to prospect return he can bring us. Outside of Archer, there is no mlb quality starter that will be available that has the same amount of inexpensive control and track record of both success and health. And Archer most likely won't be available.
