I think he gets protected. They just traded for him. They can cut enough guys to add everyone and leave a spot or two open for the draft I believe. Non-tender Putnam (most obvious thing to do), waive Hanson, May, and possibly Willy, release Farquhar, etc.

Deadline is at 7pm. There should be a flurry of small moves throughout the day around the league.

I love Vizquel being in the organization! As a player, he helped Andrus and Alexei on the defense side. I was hoping he would one day be like an infield instructor or something (was going to say a base coach but then he wouldn't really be able to give advice in between defense innings).

Also a good time to sneak guys through waivers off of the 40-man (guys like Palka).
