  1. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 04:00 PM) Yes. Saladino will be shifted to 3B when Moncada comes up. Actually wouldn't be totally blown away to see the Sox put Saladino in CF when Moncada comes up, assuming Frazier is still on the roster. Yes, I know Saladino hurt himself playing in the OF. But honestly, he's probably the 3rd most suitable guy to play there on the roster currently. Honestly I was thinking along the same lines. Send May down now, let Leury play CF every day with one of Saladino/Sanchez as emergency guys.
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 03:26 PM) I'm guessing Grudz has 0 input when it comes to a decision like that. Agreed.
  3. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 03:24 PM) Numerous Scouts agree with you, namely that Moncada profiles well as a Centerfielder. Moncada wants and even insists that he play second base. Who is in charge of deciding where this guy plays? If I am the Manager at Charlotte, I tell Moncada to put an outfield glove on and get out there so I can see what he has. Let's see the speed running down balls in the gap. Can he do that, or not? Why? Let the guy play 2B for a while. Dude is still what, 21? If he can play a decent 2B, having his potential bat at that position would be great.
  4. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 03:17 PM) I need to see way more than two good weeks to declare Avi anything more than a sub replacement level player Anyone can get hot for a month, but he needs to sustain the hitting over several months for me to buy in Exactly. If you really dig into guy's numbers, your going to see hot and cold streaks everywhere. It's just more noticeable at the beginning of a season.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 03:18 PM) In a case like Robertson it is much easier to assume that the fraction of a season where he was bad is the aberration versus this fraction of a season where he is more in line with the entire rest of his career. Honestly, if you take away that game he shouldn't have pitched in KC last season, his era would have been close to a whole run less (I did the math and it was pretty close). Of course, his WHIP and K:BB also would have been better. Edit: just crunched the numbers again. If you take away the 2/3 IP and the 6 ER, his era would have been 2.63 on the year which is .84 less than it ended up being.
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 01:44 PM) Anyone who dislikes hashtags is a communist. Scientifically proven. You got me.
  7. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 01:39 PM) Well, if we're going to be bad (we will likely be), we might as well go all out. Also, hastags don't work here. And are just stupid in general.
  8. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 12:39 PM) Seriously. I do not want to see an OF defense that has Melky in LF, Willy in CF and Avi in RF. The three stooges. I guess it depends on what you feel is more important. For me, I'd rather have May's defense in CF than Willy's bat. Willy is the better hitter but May is the better defender. I do agree with that. Help out the pitchers by having his defense in CF. Like I said above, I just checked out the high minors and there is no one deserving of that playing time anyway.
  9. Looking at Charlotte and Birmingham, there really isn't anyone deserving of getting those at bats in CF at the MLB level. The guy doing the best is Jason Bourgeois and he's 35 lol
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 12:25 PM) After watching him play LF yesterday, putting him in CF could be a comedy show. It sucks that one of Frazier and Melky couldn't be moved in the off-season (heck, preferably both). Would love for Davidson and W. Garcia to be getting everyday at bats between 3B/LF and DH.
  11. *Checks Adam Engel's stat-line out of curiousity* *vomits*
  12. We have 2 more years correct? Meaning through 2019. I thought that's what someone said yesterday.
  13. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 11:16 AM) Avi's kind of a no risk guy in my book. He's not key to the rebuild, his BABIP is ridiculous and no one in the MLB believes in him, so he has no real value. Play well or don't, he likely only serves as a sweetener or a piece to make the team watchable. Who knows? Maybe he keeps playing this way and come June/July, a team very thin in the outfield (Giants?) comes calling. I would sell high on him in an instant if we are able to.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 09:57 AM) Yeah, 14 ER against MN in 3 starts (17 ip) Detroit, 12 ip/10 ER KC 4/6 ER 33 IP/30 ER=8.18 ERA Cleveland 14/2 ER TB 6/2 20/4=1.80 Overall, 5.77 ERA last 9, 2-6 record You originally said 18 against Minnesota. That what was I was questioning.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 08:08 PM) Or he's simply terrible against the Twins (Sale went through similar stretches against them). 18 runs surrendered to them in his last three starts dating back to September 1st. 10 more runs in two starts against KC and DET. All of his other starts, he's been really good and typical Quintana...for example, against the Indians, who were clearly the best team in the division last year. Of course, that's only 4 good starts out of 9, whereas normally you expect 6/7 out of 9 (quality starts) when Q's taking the bump. That includes the 1 run he gave up against them last weekend? I don't remember a game last season where he gave up 11 runs.
  16. QUOTE (oldsox @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 07:14 PM) He's already had that. And he wasn't that good in AAA.
  17. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 06:32 PM) He's probably just young enough, but I can still see them capitalizing on a strong season and moving him. Honestly, though I get the feeling he won't be very good this year. Hopefully Robertson continues to be strong to net more prospects. I would hope they'd cash in on prospects. I wouldn't want to bank on him being good for a while.
  18. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 06:24 PM) While Garcia the best in baseball, May is the worst. When does Melky come back, tomorrow? Is Willy capable of playing CF?
  19. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 06:20 PM) Avi may bring back the biggest haul of prospects from any of our players if he keeps this up! A) how much control does he have left and B) who needs a corner outfielder? Keep it up Avi!
  20. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 11:41 AM) Oh man, single player mode in Battlefront 2 sounds amazing. http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/04/15/bat...-player-preview Yeah that sounds amazing. Definitely something that was lacking in the last one.
  21. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 11:38 PM) And no one gives a crap because pitching wins are meaningless. Yep. The team is 2-1 in his starts. That's what matters.
  22. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 03:12 PM) Funny how Davidson was raking the past two or three years in ST, goes down to AAA, and is horrid. This was his worst ST statistically and he's been raking so far in the bigs. Lol
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 03:05 PM) Gonna say ST hitting stats don't matter after seeing May and Asche After? You didn't already know before?
  24. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 02:49 PM) Exactly...so why am I getting scrutinized for saying that Hahn screwed up by not trading him in the offseason? Perhaps the offers weren't there but the uncertainty of his future could be getting into Q's head at this point and negatively impacting his performance. You're getting scrutinized because it'sthe second week of the season and we don't know what was offered for sure.
  25. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 02:30 PM) Pitching in the 9th inning for the Nats? Matt Albers. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 02:39 PM) Bwhahahahahahhahahshahahahhahahaha Worth noting they're losing so its not like they're really relying on him here to nail down a save.
