Eaton to Nats/Giolito, Lopez, Dunning to Sox
Bob Sacamano replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2017 -> 08:30 AM) Exactly. I've seen people injure themselves just walking down the street. It's too bad. I hope he can fully recover. Some do, some don't. Obviously knee surgery has come a long way the last 20 years, but you never know. Some guys continue to have problems. We do know he will work his ass off to get back to normal. Shifting over to left next season should help him out. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2017 -> 08:23 AM) Pete Rose ran out everything, including walks and he didn't get hurt. It's a fluke. To think you are a greater injury chance playing hard than not is silly. He has run out thousands of these. He went down on one. It could happen to a guy jogging to first base as well. Don't hustle, take games off. It's the new way. I wonder how the players who didn't take games off and hustled all the time ever made it. The weird part is it almost is the exact opposite pitching. The speed gun and k-rate are almost all that matters. Agreed 100%. He just took a bad step on the base. -
Selling at the deadline: Renteria and locker room reaction

QUOTE (gosoxgo2005 @ May 1, 2017 -> 07:22 AM) How do you figure this? Lucas Harrell returned Travis Demeritte last year who's on a lot of top 100 lists. This is just a few months after Harrell was pitching in Korea. James Shields returned Fernando Tatis Jr, also on top 100 lists. There are other examples too, I'm sure I know it's not apples to apples but saying Gonzales and Holland will get you NOBODY is incorrect. Cashner sucked last year and was moved for a decent return. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 29, 2017 -> 10:49 PM) Last 2 eps of 13 Reasons were heavy. Started Friday night and almost done lol

Herrera and Cain make so much sense for the Nationals if the Royals decide to be sellers.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 29, 2017 -> 09:12 AM) Jones and Robertson you might get something decent back. The other guys, even if they keep this up for a while don't have the track record IMO where a team will give up a significant prospect for them even if desperate. Jennings maybe since he's a lefty.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 04:17 PM) Is anyone driving Robles back? I mean, if it helps facilitate the deal, I'll drive to wherever he is and drive him to wherever he needs to be.
-
QUOTE (yesterday333 @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 04:11 PM) Well I'm not really sure how long of a drive it is but they could take turns and get him there faster... True...

April 28th Game Thread: White Sox at Detroit Tigers
Bob Sacamano replied to InTheDriversSeat's topic in 2017 Season in Review
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 02:43 PM) Not tonight, but it could be wet weekend in Detroit and throughout the Midwest. Both Missouri teams, Cleveland and Detroit. Charlotte Knights in Columbus, OH as well. Man they shouldn't even play the games. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 09:23 AM) And their backup catcher makes $14 million Forgot about that. Lot of money coming off the books this season. I think they buy a starter in the off-season and make a deal for a cost-controlled one mid-season or in off-season.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 09:09 AM) Its just a banner, man. not a statement haha

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 09:05 AM) Is that particularly impressive with 20+ rounds? My #1 crush haha I think he was implying that it was the top guy he wanted. I've had all the guys I wanted the Sox to take in the first round get drafted. Granted, a lot of us likely wanted all of those guys but still. A lot were definitely not into the Collins pick at first.

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 08:39 AM) I really think Haseley is right up their alley. I keep likening him to Benitendi as well, even though he comes up short on a few of the tools by comparison. He's my current draft crush at the moment. An aside, either Callis or Manual noted yesterday that he could see Faedo falling into the White Sox lap at 11. Couldn't argue with that if it happened. The last 3 drafts, my draft crush got taken in each draft. I'll let you know who I've settled on a few days before lol won't really read up on anything until about within a week up to the draft.

Yeah...it's time for him to go. Guy would probably clear waivers anyway. Give Davidson at bats at 1B, DH Abreu, call up...I'm not sure. Don't want Delmonico up since there isn't room for every day at bats yet. Maybe another reliever?

QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 12:56 PM) We could do the same thing. Possibly. Probably not a good idea though unless Melky and Frazier is still here past July.

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 08:07 PM) Pretty funny he's getting no run support from the Bo Sox so far this season. Is anyone on the Red Sox getting run support? -

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 04:08 PM) Initially I was pro-tank for the draft pick, but we're much better suited to guys playing well and building value than getting a draft pick a few slots higher. I'd rather get the #6 pick and have Kahnle/Swarzak/Holland/Gonzalez turn into viable trade pieces than get the #2 pick and have all of them suck. Hopefully Frazier and Melky turn it up a notch as well. -
QUOTE (Johansupi @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 04:00 PM) Thats great news! The chance of new WWZ not being crap increased greatly You can say that again. What an awful movie.

QUOTE (MnSoxFan @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 03:36 PM) He better be committed to this rebuild I think they're committed. What do you expect them to do? Hold onto the guys like Holland and Gonzalez (if they are pitching well) only to have them block the guys in the minors who could be ready and let the above guys leave for nothing? -
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 02:22 PM) I think they were willing to give their in-house options a try and didn't want to trade more prospects after already depleting their system. But as we get closer to the deadline they'll probably change their tune if the bullpen troubles continue. Exactly. Nothing wrong with seeing what you have before making a big decision like trading even more prospects.

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 02:00 PM) Kinda doubting Robertson ends up in Washington at this point. If a deal was going to happen it likely would have happened already. It was reported like a week ago that they've been in constant contact. Just need Kelley and Glover to fail.

Already lowered that ERA down to 5.22. He'll be fine.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 01:21 PM) Someone forgot Leury Garcia! Lol

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 12:58 PM) Intentional Talk is going to start airing on ESPN, allowing them to dissolve their baseball analysts to save money. I personally hope no one chooses to watch Intentional Talk on ESPN over MLB Network. I currently don't have a choice :'(
