  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 25, 2017 -> 08:42 AM) Considering 12 teams go to the playoffs, I highly doubt 17 teams are our "main competition". 10*
  2. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 25, 2017 -> 08:28 AM) This same post was made about Matt Albers at this time last season. Was coming in here to say the same thing.
  3. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 25, 2017 -> 08:32 AM) Eh I think that's overblown. The only true tanking teams are us, maybe the Twins, the Reds, Brewers, Padres, and maybe the Braves (though I think they're trying to be somewhat competitive in the first year of their new stadium). That's not any more tanking than usual. Agreed. More than half the league wasn't tanking coming into the season.
  4. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 25, 2017 -> 07:47 AM) With increased draft emphasis, the race for the bottom is worse than ever. Not sure what the league can do about it, though. League can do about what? A decent amount of teams were trying to win heading into season. Granted it's still too soon to write anyone off. Some teams will bounce back.
  5. QUOTE (ventura_abreu @ Apr 25, 2017 -> 06:46 AM) Frazier and Melky will probably get traded in June or July. They better start hitting. If Giants start playing good and Arroyo isn't hitting at 3B, either one makes sense for them. Still too early to write of any team.
  6. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Apr 25, 2017 -> 01:57 AM) Play Davidson every day. Enough with this bs. Delmonico better be playing every day when he comes up too. Problem is, you can't play Delmonico, Davidson, Abreu, Frazier, and I guess Melky all every day. Melky or Frazier has to go before both Davidson and Delmonico see every day at bats. And that doesn't look like it's happening any time soon.
  7. Yep probably time for Davidson to play every day, dfa Asche and call up another bullpen arm? Wouldn't want to call Delmonico up just to sit on bench.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Apr 24, 2017 -> 05:05 PM) Giants are 6-13? That era over or too early? Way too early to write off any team but losing Bumgarner for 2 months doesn't help.
  9. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 24, 2017 -> 05:47 PM) Seems like a lot of 5pm starts this year so far for us West Coasters. Personally prefer the 4 pm starts. ? This isn't new. They always play games at 7 during the week 5 on west coast). Those 4pm games are when they are East.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 24, 2017 -> 03:41 PM) Was going to ask you who you root for in these KC/Sox battles, but this made it clear. Guy brings up the Royals in so many posts over the past couple years to the point where it is pretty obvious.
  11. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Apr 24, 2017 -> 01:54 PM) I will be at the game chanting for an Asche appearance. I'll be the guy in the Sox jersey Lefty on the mound so should be Davidson.
  12. QUOTE (mataipaepae @ Apr 24, 2017 -> 01:26 PM) Or see how Willie Garcia develops in center? What are the reports on him? Hopefully he comes back up after the 10 days pass (which I guess would be this week).
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2017 -> 12:15 PM) Attitude problems. God how bad must the Sox suck when guys with a .302 OPS are desired. He sucks. Even his defense has slipped. No one is going to give you anything for him. At this point, May should probably be in the minors and if you start Leury, you need someone capable of playing CF on the bench (unless you want to bank on Leury never needing to sit and having Sanchez/Saladino as an emergency guy). That's why I wouldn't mind him honestly.
  14. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 24, 2017 -> 11:58 AM) Owed about 3 million. Sox would have to clear a 40 man spot. I'd take him over May for sure. Martin is actually a MLB player for starters. I mean, at some point they could probably transfer Rodon to the 60-day dl which would clear a 40-man spot.
  15. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/04/nati...son-colome.html Here's some more as well. Mentions they view Glover as closer of the future but may not be ready to hand him in the keys yet.
  16. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 23, 2017 -> 01:13 PM) I never understood why people wore cubs uniforms to Sox games. Why? Or vice versa?
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2017 -> 06:49 AM) .205/.265/.330 The White Sox team splits. A .595 team OPS. 32k there last night to try to get a cheap hoodie. But if this keeps up, the Hawk alarm clock, Buehrle day, the Cubs games, and Sale's return are all that is left for White Sox fan interest as far as attending goes. Trades making the team at least initially even worse will also keep many interested. This is going to be a really bad summer for baseball. Last night was the first time in my life when it wasn't pouring or freezing, I had tickets and really didn't want to go to the game. There really was no chance it was going to at least be entertaining. I predicted 8-1 to my wife. Pretty close. Today could be better, at least I want to go. Yet some people believe(d) this is a 75-win team.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 09:44 PM) Was there much complaining going on in the stands? Any laughter at the bad team on the field this year? Any mention of the alleged "rebuild" from the fans? Tell us bout the crowd's demeanor please. Well after the first 3 innings when I realized I wasn't that interested in the game, I went to the bar in RF and apparently, a lot of other people were uninterested as well.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 09:31 PM) 30,000? Tip of the cap to Sox fans. They won't be back. Think it was more for the hoody giveaway haha I was there. Lines before the game were insane really early.
  20. QUOTE (reiks12 @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 10:16 AM) Going to be a while looking at that Birmingham Barren offense Moncada, Delmonico, and Willy say hi.
  21. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 06:39 AM) I have a feeling we are about to see a 5 or 6 game losing steak...hope I'm wrong but it just has that feel to it. I mean, I don't mind. Beer run!
  22. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 08:08 PM) Stoney...people projected Kipnis at 2b...not "the Indians thought they were getting a CF..." c'mon... He was an outfielder turned second baseman.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 03:25 PM) Not sure where the rules fall on that or not, but I do know that any deal with a million dollars or more in cash requires approval from MLB. Yeah I get that. I was trying to figure out what he was saying.
