  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 06:17 PM) Chisenhall reminds me of AVI in RF Seriously. I wish Brantley was healthy.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 01:39 PM) I'm certainly guilty of it myself, but it's kind of sad that we have to re-live moments that happened 11 years ago. I wish the Sox were good. Yep. 05 Sox = 85 Bears
  3. QUOTE (35thstreetswarm @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 01:17 PM) I can't think of a defensible argument for why the Tribe could win 3 straight against Boston's lineup, which may be the best in baseball. Except one - they did it. Good enough for me.
  4. Was 14 watching with my dad and brother. Luckily, the following 2 days were parent teacher conference days because there was no way I was going to be able to concentrate.
  5. QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 12:38 PM) LOL you just have everyone misunderstood today. Lol I used to be a really sarcastic person to the point where people around me don't know if I'm being serious or sarcastic. I'm always slightly misunderstood.
  6. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 12:36 PM) He's not on their roster anymore. He was DFAed IIRC. And I'm aware. I just said it'd be awesome to see.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 12:17 PM) Thats nice and all but I doubt it. The 05 Sox played game 2 in a miserable cold rain for pretty much the entire game I'm not saying I think it will be either and never implied that I think it will. Just posting what they would do.
  8. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 12:31 PM) Just realized that Juan Uribe would be adding another ring to his collection if the Indians win. I kept thinking that yesterday. Woud be awesome to see him turn on a 103 mph fastball from Chapman.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 12:22 PM) I thought I heard last night that a post season game can't be partially played. It would be suspended and finished later if it couldn't be played fully. You can't have a 7 inning World Series game. Re-read what I said haha I said it would be suspended and finished the next day.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 12:05 PM) They arent postponing this game unless there is a torrential downpour with lightning. They said on the score if, say it went 6 and the rain was awful, it would be suspended to tomorrow and thats when they'd finish it.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 11:32 AM) I got a good one. If the game is rained out tonight Cubs fans will say the angels in heaven are crying for a championship. I hope it rains and everything gets pushed back a day. Kluber on full rest for game 4.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 09:47 AM) Francona now 9-0 managing in the World Series. Pretty crazy stat. The right baseball move was to hire him when he was available. I can't remember correctly, but the Sox did interview him before 2012 right?
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 07:34 AM) Kluber is really the only starting pitcher for Cleveland that can do what he did last night. The rest of the rotation is meh right now. Gonna be a bullpen battle for two games and the Cubs have the advantage with how their lineup works pitchers. Still think cubs in five. I bet they only want 3-4 good innings out of Bauer or Tomlin before giving the ball to Salazar for another 3 or 4.
  14. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 07:20 AM) I seriously doubt the Yankees in the middle of their rebuild( obviously they will spend money) would go after Sale and give up the prospects they just traded for. They will most likely continue the trend and trade Gardner and Ellsbury for more young players. They're not in a rebuild. They traded expiring contracts (Beltran, Chapman) and sold high on a reliever.
  15. QUOTE (35thstreetswarm @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 05:32 PM) Tonight is so big. Take game 1 and suddenly Arrieta's recent struggles loom large. Indians need this game more than the Cubs do. Cubs have feasted on pitchers like Bauer and Tomlin all season. Indians need to win with Kluber games: 1 and 5 or 1, 4 and 7.
  16. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 03:26 PM) There are some here actively rooting for the Cubs. Whether or not they are all truly Sox fans is another question altogether. I know and I didn't say there wasn't. Just not "many".
  17. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 02:17 PM) I liked that the Sox got Shields and even after how bad he was I like that the was aggressive to get him but I trade for one reason... the surrendering of Tatis Jr. I think that if you're taking on an older player, that's on a massive contract and someone who's team owner burned in the media, that you shouldn't have to give up anything of value to get said player. Tatis Jr got some high marks from his first instructs last year too and I think Jesse Sanchez had some nice things to say about him too during that J2 cycle. Hopefully the Sox scream murder and they're able to get Tatis back from the Padres. If the Sox took on most of the contract rather than having most of it paid for, I could see us just giving up Johnson. It really wasn't a pure salary dump type of move.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 03:07 PM) Selling his tickets to Cubs fans? WTF If they're willing to pay a high price, why not? I actually signed up for the raffle to be able to buy tickets just to flip them for thousands of dollars.
  19. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 02:13 PM) I just don't get how any Sox fan could want the Cubs to win here. The long-term impact of the Cubs winning multiple championships could be catastrophic for our franchise, but apparently that's ok for some as long as one of their loved ones gets to end their "suffering". I just don't get that logic and I say that as someone who is married to a diehard Cubs fan. Sucks I have to root against her "well-being", but this is f***ing sports, not something important like her health. I don't like this participation trophy attitude our country has developed and watching good Sox fans on this site actively cheer on a direct & dangerous rival is really a sign of the times. I don't know if many are actively rooting. Just accepting that it can happen. And if it does? Oh well, life goes on. Like you said "this is f***ing sports, not something important."
  20. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 07:07 AM) As I get older, I've gotten more responsibilities and jobs that keep me busy. I don't have the free time that I used to have when I was younger. That said, I don't have the patience or want to put in the effort, money, and time into a perpetually losing franchise. I have more important things to use my time and resources on, than a team that's going to waste 3 hours of my night every night because they are a poorly managed organization that is - frankly - a losing team. The 2005 season was great, but they truly lucked into it. There was no future and no plan for continued success. They've been this way since I was a child when I watched them lose in the '80s. I'm not going to stop being a fan... I just expect more out of them than I used to. Until they show me that they're serious about having a plan, what's the point? Well said.
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 11:29 AM) I'm not losing any sleep over this series, but if the Cubs happen to win, I'd rather they do it in 6--in Cleveland. The city is going to be crazy either way. If you happen to live in Wrigleyville, I wouldn't imagine it being different than this past Saturday if they win on the road.
  22. Whoever is going to win, I just want it to be put away in 4 games or ASAP (hopefully an Indians sweep brings the off-season on Sunday).
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 10:30 AM) Yeah but we had those too, and the Hawks have a s***load of them. Bad fans suck for everyone, the Cubs just happen to have a HUGE amount of them because of WGN and their stadium. You can say that again. I bet at least 60-65% of their fan base is bandwagon/post 2010 fans.
  24. I think Fowler is making less than he did last year so if angle is that they spent money on him to bring him, its not really true. Got a really good discount on him and paying less on him than last year.
