  1. What would we have had to trade to land Yelich? And would you have done it?
  2. I dunno, I feel like Avi has been finding his way in this game and injuries aside, will be a contributor wherever he goes. I don't think stardom is in his future though, which makes letting him go somewhat forgivable. I'd have given him one more year though, to avoid the likes of Nicky Delmonico who probably won't be a regular MLB contributor being on this team. At least Avi being gone allows us to see what we have in Cordell. He could become equal to Avi offensively and his superior defensively. So I'm okay with that.
  3. Lost in all this is that it was really nice to finally beat Bieber. Guy needs to know that he is human.
  4. This may have already been covered, but this is my theory. She chose fear. What better way to inspire fear across all of Westeros than tales of what happened at Kings Landing? Nobody will want to be on her bad side as long as a dragon is alive. She stopped caring about love, and to inspire fear knew what she needed to do.
  5. Meh, your whole argument is lazy. Just like the writers, I guess. Have fun not having fun. I've enjoyed the ride. As for the bolded... really, you can stop beating us with your hyperbole stick. I yield!
  6. So whose fault is it then? GRRM? Cause earlier you seemed convinced D&D are killing the show like all the other sheeple who love to be cool and find ways to hate popular things.
  7. Developed story arcs and how we think everything should be was never the point of GoT. Ned, Robb, and Catelyn Stark would have lasted much longer if that was the case. You may have thought her character arc was finished, but it's not. We've seen signs of her ruthlessness before. Now we got to see how she really acts after several very emotional losses (Missandei, Jons lack of affection, Varys' treachery). Ruined my ass. All Time bad my ass. You can take that garbage and keep that opinion if you want, but after all is said and done I don't think many will be buying the "all time bad' and "worse than walking dead" stuff people like you are pandering.
  8. This has never been the point of Game of Thrones.
  9. Yeah, well.. that's just like, your opinion, man.
  10. It appears he may have gotten some ravens out before he got killed too. It'll be interesting to see if that means anything in the last episode. I couldn't believe that after basically securing the city, she went on the rampage. I figured she would need to rampage to secure the city, but the battle was a complete joke. 20k Golden Company? Yeah whatever. Perimeter ballistas? Yeah just outflank them. This episode was amazing and even though we all saw Mad Queen coming, it still left me with that weird anxious feeling like after Neds death, the Red Wedding, Jons death, etc.
  11. No fight in those at bats. Gotta get these easy outs out of the lineup. Yonder does not deserve the at bats it will take for his extension to kick in.
  12. I mean i guess id rather take my chances on a leury or yoan base hit than the double play potential.
  13. McCann could be day to day and we dont even know it. I dont think Ricky is that dumb to where hed bench one of his best hitters for more than 1 game.
  14. Bumgarner is just young enough that he may have some good years left, with injuries hopefully behind him. He could be our Lester. I'd definitely have interest in bringing him aboard.
  15. Seriously, there's nothing shadier than walking around my retail establishment and sometimes flashing this sign to specific co-workers. I'd look like the biggest moron on the planet. Thanks for the link, by the way. I hadn't heard that the NZ guy made that gesture.
  16. We have two episodes left, so indeed anything could happen. A couple things: 1) Varys didn't back Ned in season 1 because of the same reason Daenarys got mad at him for orchestrating assassination attempts on her: He had no other choice. Part of the small council, under a microscope, and he knew Ned was going to lose. No reason to back the losing horse here, although he probably regretted that war was waged over it. When he heard of Daenarys exploits in Essos, and her general "mission statement", he had good enough reason to bail and back her, especially when it became clear that Cersei would not be a good ruler. 2) Jon's honor above all else attitude could certainly spell his doom. I don't necessarily think he's in a significantly better spot than Ned was. It's yet to be seen, but I could fathom that if Dany catches wind of Varys and potentially Tyrion backing Jon for the throne, she could try to take him out. Sansa's unwillingness to bow to Dany will be a huge issue, as well. I actually think Jon is in a terrible spot and if I were him I'd hightail it back beyond the Wall and spend the rest of my days with Tormund to avoid the coming conflicts about his heritage/claim/and Sansa's stubbornness when it comes to Dany. 3) I really think Tyrion and Varys are trying to instill the benefits of not killing the innocent, not their enemies. A Lannister army or Golden Company is an enemy. Cersei knows Dany doesn't want to kill innocents, and is backed by supporters who don't want to kill innocents, so she brought innocents into the Red Keep to give Dany less reason to burn it down. Dany definitely believes she's destined for the throne, and that could be her downfall. She will definitely kill enemies, and possibly even kill innocents as well at this point.
  17. Unreal. When did that hand gesture become a symbol for white supremacists? My co worker and I play the "The Circle Game" (https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=The Circle Game) at work and have been for years. Now I guess we shouldn't anymore because someone will see it and take it the wrong way. Fuck you 4chan for making this troll joke in the first place, and fuck you white supremacists for actually aDoPtInG iT LiKE ThE m0r0ns YoU aRe. Thank you random Cubs idiot fan for finally bringing this to my attention so I don't get in trouble at work randomly.
  18. TAs new legion of fans will see him voted in, IMO. Especially if he keeps hitting. Moncada and Abreu should get in on the bench at their current paces.
  19. That's the vibe I'm getting as well. Lots of people gunning for her right now.
  20. It seems completely within Cersei's character to just murder them all right there. I'm a bit surprised that didn't happen. I wonder what Jamie's really up to. Dany's gonna lose her shit. Should be a crazy final two episodes.
  21. This would have been a 4 game sweep, easily, if not for Delmonico lucking into one. Sometimes you can count on the Sox to play up or down to their competition, but not now. They are just straight up bad.
  22. Leave it to the White Sox to draw awesome crowds on a great weekend and completely shit their own pants offensively, defensively, and pitching-wise. I was one of the unfortunate souls at the game yesterday. Still had a blast because I checked out of that game after the 3rd or 4th inning or whatever it was. The White Sox team embodying the persona of the front office/owner with regards to not signing Manny. "Fuck the Sox fans". There better be a big fucking payoff at the end of this. They better be right.
  23. Holy crap, Castillo couldn't be more obviously trying to frame that last pitch. He caught it in the upper corner then moved it to dead middle of the plate.
  24. Can we convert Bummer into a starter? /desperation
  25. LOL Benetti dropping the Family Guy quote.
