  1. I'd still rather watch Tilson than Engel.
  2. May be time to bust out a draft pick tracker as the tank continues.
  3. Don't know much about Smith, but can't really complain about dumping Anisimov. I had hoped for a lot more from him, but I don't really know why.
  4. On a perfect pitching staff, Giolito to me seems like an awesome #2 or perfect #3. Aces are just so rare. But hey, it's true, aces do struggle too. Look at Sale this year. If nothing else, I think Giolito is still perfecting the repeatability of his delivery, and polishing the mental side of his game. If he doesn't lose any of his stuff, he will be perfectly fine.
  5. The whole running into Collins at O'Hare was ridiculous. If you're gonna make up garbage, at least make it believable.
  6. Now that you guys mention it, it is a quite strange .... but that would only be if a deal was imminent.
  7. Jon Jay... man I'll be happy when/if Robert takes his at bats away. He's a nice player but he should be the 5th OF on a contender.
  8. Herrerra getting fucked by bad luck. Sucks.
  9. I think most probably feel this way, but I was kicking around the idea of starting a thread about that and seeing how everyone feels about it.
  10. Meh, I'm not a GT ruiner like some around here, so I'd hope my frustration with Reynaldo would be less annoying to others.
  11. Also, wow, you really showed your true colors with that post. /sarcasm
  12. Different strokes I guess, but I think it might be a lot more fun to go to a baseball game in Japan or Central America where the crowd is full of life than the USA. Being a part of the Oakland noise is probably great fun for the fans.
  13. I understand where you're coming from, but in a way I kind of like how they interact with the game instead of being the usual lifeless crowd that doesn't make any noise unless something happens or the big screen tells them to.
  14. I really need to see a great 2nd half from Lopez. He can start today by keeping the A's down and getting us a W.
  15. Well, if anything it buys some goodwill towards a possible Eloy-like extension.
  16. Meh, I don't see much of a fit for Yolmer because I doubt you'd ever want to PH him for anyone in our future lineup even against a right hander, and his defense isn't going to be significantly better than TA, NM or YM to where you'd want him as a defensive sub. He'll be too expensive to be worth it. Leury, on the other hand, can play outfield defensively for Eloy, and can be your backup IF and he also hits enough to grab a start or two a week.
  17. I mean, if he simply dominates like this, how long do you wait to call him up? A week? I can't see any reason to keep him down there any longer if he just crushes AAA.
  18. I love Abreu. I'm all for keeping him around to eat the sweet, sweet fruits of this rebuild. He wants to win, and he wants to win where he put in blood, sweat and tears to build a winner.
  19. The masses hate this deal. It does look pretty bad considering how high some are on Jokiharju and low some are on Nylander. This'll be a wait and see trade. Hawks better be right in their evaluation of Nylander and self scouting of Joki.
  20. Id trust Leury as a super sub, pinch hitter and #9 hitter Sunday lineup starter on the next competitive team. See whats available for him, but if its all pretty meh I'd look into an extension and probably prefer that anyway.
