  1. Then why ask the question if all you are going to do is repeat your same points? You don't want to hear anyone else's opinion, you just want to keep defending Tony, because you met him once and he was "polite" to you. You're a waste of time.
  2. No. Because even if I waste that time, you still won't understand. It's not worth it.
  3. You’re completely missing what this entire conversation is about.
  4. WE CAN'T LET THE PLAYERS RUN THE ASYLUM!
  5. The more Tony speaks, the more I'm ok with Yermin doing what he did. LaRussa has admitted the take sign was on because he wanted to "respect the Twins" and keep sportsmanship alive. Having Yermin keep his bat on his shoulder during a 15-4 game for that reason, when stats are king and that's how these guys make a living.....no dice. Fuck LaRussa and his old school thought process. I would have done the same thing Yermin does.
  6. To have your head buried this far in the sand is pretty impressive, I'll give you that.
  7. The most shocking thing in all of it....there are fans still defending him. And yes, a new manager would make mistakes. And yes, this team would still perform well because of the current roster. But the absolute embarrassment that has been the Tony LaRussa experience has been at levels that I really couldn’t comprehend, and a majority of us were terrified of the hire when it happened.
  8. Where is @tray when you need him most?
  9. Just for record keeping
  10. I really like the guys on this roster. Up and down, so many likable guys. And it kills me the guy leading them is basically the poster child for everything wrong with the franchise. I'm just exhausted by it. They make being a fan SO fucking difficult. Usually it's because they suck. But now they have built a roster that is actually a force and has a bunch of young stars......and the national conversation is around LaRussa's unwritten rules of baseball. Again, I'm just so sick of it.
  11. Here is the scary thing for me, and it's not hyperbole. I just didn't care at all tonight watching the game. Seeing them get walked off provided me next to no emotion. I'm so exhausted by the circus that comes with this franchise. They make it so hard for me to actively root for them to succeed. It makes me sad.
  12. That was 100% self-inflicted.
  13. Liam Hendricks has just been bad, straight up. Guy can't be counted on.
  14. This team is really good, and the Twins are REALLY bad.
  15. We've slept in the same bed, it's ok.
  16. You're the least of my worries you little peckerhead.
  17. I don't know what else throwing someone under the bus looks like honestly. This is textbook. You can try and defend it being "silly" all you want, but that's just not based in any sort of reality. I heard the audio on the radio as well.....those quotes weren't "silly"
  18. I've GOTTA change my username, this is getting bad.
  19. Would have been nice if LaRussa nipped the whole drinking and driving thing in the bud after the first time he made his mistake, but apparently he didn't get the message. I mean, you can’t be openly defying the law at this level. It does matter if the roads are packed or empty, it’s a long-term culture thing. But I guess it you let him get away with it, other DUI's will follow.
  20. So I'll turn it back to you. Did any player call out LaRussa for leaving Matt Foster in the game to die? Did any player call out LaRussa for not knowing an extra inning rule and having their new closer run the bases when he didn't have to? Did any player comment on his DUI the day before he was hired? In case you needed the answer.....it's no, the players didn't do that. They kept things in house. But when Yermin makes a mistake, you better believe LaRussa is going to make sure the media knows that shit doesn't fly for the White Sox!
  21. Well put
  22. Let's just summarize this for easy reading: - Yermin Mercedes hit a home run in the 9th inning - Tony LaRussa wanted him to keep his bat on his shoulder - As the home run landed, LaRussa was apologizing to the Twins for his player hitting a home run against a hated rival - Today, as the Sox prepare to win another game, Tony spent most of his time ripping his star rookie in the media, airing out all his grievances about sportsmanship and how to play the game the right way, and talking about spankings (?!?!) It's like we are living in bizarro world.
