  1. We need to teach these young pups the history of Soxtalk...
  2. That's an absolute meat grinder and the best lineup in the American League
  3. There just isn't a lot of downside with the move. The only issue I could possibly see if Cruz is Edwin levels of bad.......TLR continues to play the veteran over someone like Vaughn who is "ready" but even that is sort of stretch. Cruz isn't getting more than a one year deal so there is very little risk involved. I personally don't think they sign Nelson Cruz, and I'd much rather them sign another SP, but I'd be all for it if it happened.
  4. Hope so. I still would also love someone like La Stella but that move is more of a luxury and me not being sold on Vaughn in 2021. Roster isn’t going to be perfect, but adding a solid #4-#5 would go a long way, in my perspective.
  5. Yeah, just disagree here. You need one more somewhat stable arm, especially after these guys just had a 60 game season and are now being asked to go back to a 162 grind. They need to have some reinforcements ready to go....because they'll need them at some point. And the beauty is they don't have to trade any assets to do it. Just need to spend a little more money. We'll see what they do, really hope they aren't done.
  6. They need more arms. In my opinion it's more abut quantity at this point. Lopez can't be given a SP spot out of Spring Training unless injuries happen. Just can't happen at this point. You add a mid-level starter, it goes a long way in helping the depth of the staff, Lopez can be a long man or go back to AAA if they so choose, let Kopech work himself back up in AAA to start the year, and pray for good health.
  7. It wouldn't, it's just massive hyperbole. Jose Quintana put up a higher WAR than Trevor Bauer in 2019. Trevor Bauer will also probably cost around 20 million dollars more than Jose Quintana. But all the FA starters suck, Bauer is the only answer, if the Sox don't sign him they are massive idiots and don't want to spend money, ever! (Did I miss any of the other narratives being beat to death?)
  8. I'd take that bet. I'll take the field of Odorizzi, Tanaka, Paxton, Quintana, Brett Anderson, Julio Teheran, Walker, and the rest of the bunch and you can take Musgrove. I like those odds.
  9. I don’t disagree that could be the price. I would strongly advise the Sox not meeting that price. Maybe it’s not Q, maybe it’s not Tanaka. But I would put heavy money on the fact there are multiple FA pitchers currently available that will out-perform Musgrove over the next two seasons. It’s up to the Sox to figure out who those FA’s and may be and bring them in.
  10. I would hope the Sox. That's one where I just don't understanding giving up an asset like Kelly for production that is 100% available on the open market and that doesn't have an outrageous cost. I'm fine with trading a Kopech, Vaughn, Kelly etc. for a foundational piece or someone to put this team over the top, make them the AL favorites. I don't think Musgrove comes close to that, and additionally I think someone like Tanaka or Quintana can come fairly close to matching the production Musgrove would provide. Just spend the money.
  11. Oh fuck off Fathom...shit, you’re right.
  12. And good on Marvel for taking a shot at something totally different. I assume Falcon and Winter Solider is going to be pretty straight forward, which is fine, but at nice to see them taking chances with different shows.
  13. Feel like the villains are going to be AIM?
  14. Not sure what the hell WandaVision was, but I didn’t hate it
  15. Like...REAL bad. When I turned it on, I immediately said “What the hell is a Pius Suter?” It’s a terrible, terrible roster.
  16. lol, that wasn't clear from 2k5. Yoan feels like Abreu was very deserving.
  17. Teamwork, effort, facing adversity, culture……THESE ARE NOT THINGS FANS WANT TO HEAR ABOUT
  18. They gave them 4-5 talking points to use, and just keep hammering them. The problem is the talking points are wrong. They are trying to protect themselves and gave zero thought to how this will play with the media. I just don't understand how franchises continue to get this wrong year after year.
  19. The system is so broken. Colleen Kane asked George "What did you hear from Ryan and Matt that made you confident in keeping them? What was their plan?" He talked about how they communicated well, they like work together, they were well-spoken and strong in their convictions. How are George and Ted qualified to make these decisions? What do they know more than any of us about what the right plan is to take this team to a Super Bowl?
  20. As expected, this presser from Ted and George is brutal.
  21. I don't disagree on Nagy, especially with how they built him up when he was hired, the offensive mastermind. I don't know why, as Chicago fans, we continue to fall for it time after time.
  22. I'd really, really enjoy hearing what was said/thought that Pace deserves a 7th year to try and win a playoff game.
  23. Nothing changes at the top, Pagano is the scapegoat, and on and on the story goes.
