White Sox tried to trade for Ohtani
I’m always amazed this site is free. With this kind of scouting report, I don’t know we aren’t charging for this kind of spot-on analysis.

Helps distract fans from the sub-par product they usually put on the field.

You better stay out of White Sox Business.

White Sox tried to trade for Ohtani
Still one of the most amazing sports stats of all-time. Maybe ever.

Who cares. There is no credit given for simply making an effort. (not a knock on the story itself or @southsider2k5)

Colson Montgomery #43 on Keith Law's Top 60 update
I heard Law probably 3 weeks ago on with Waddle and Silvy and he made a quick comment on Colson saying "The White Sox probably wouldn't move him at the deadline as he looks like he has the makings of a star." which seemed surprising to me at the time, coming from him.

Trade Rumors Catch-all
@ptatc didn’t you tell us in April to check back with you in August to see if Rodon was still going strong? Thoughts?
-
Rumor: Sox Pursuing Mychal Givens
Honestly have no idea, but you have to think fairly costly if Rodon is truly on the block I also wonder how Rodon would feel about coming back. There was talk while he was here about a lack of motivation, being out of shape, etc. Obviously things have changed and he’s still in line for one more big contract, but clearly there is a layer of personal feelings that come into play…I’m curious if he would want to come back? Would you be getting an upset Rodon? I have no idea, but something to wonder

Rumor: Sox Pursuing Mychal Givens
Rodon makes all the sense in the world, which of course why it’s so frustrating how this offseason went down.

I truly don’t think you can take the PR hit on that one. It will look so so bad

White Sox among 'most agressive' teams in pitching market
The Sox clearly don’t value OF defense in the least. If you’re looking at it from the perspective of who you think the Sox will acquire and not who YOU prefer, you can throw defense out the window
-
Sure, David Peralta will solve everything
Or option three…build a team that is at the top of the heap year in and year out. You have brought up the Braves in your defense of the White Sox, multiple times, but fail to mention a team like the Astros, that have built a team that has appeared in the last 5 American League Championship series. They aren’t relying on just “luck” or “getting hot”…they have a well run, talented organization, and the results speak for themselves.

What Will it Take for You to Give Up?
I haven’t been to the park since before COVID. Have no interest in going anytime soon. It’s not even that I don’t want to give me money to the team, I just have no desire or interest to go watch the team play. I haven’t watched a full game in literally months. I’m always checking what’s going on from a day to day basis, but they have given me no reason to commit and time or real attention to them.

- What is status of Luis Robert?
I never had it fully diagnosed but I had a bad bout of what you're describing for like 3-4 months, it finally went away after doing some exercises recommended by my doctor. But it SUCKED. Whenever I would get up from bed or a chair, I would get light-headed, dizzy, that rush of blood feeling, it was awful.- Trade Rumors Catch-all
And yet the Astros have made the ALCS 5 years in a row, including 3 World Series appearances. On the other side of the coin, you have the White Sox, who have made back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time in their 121-year history, and were outclassed by a somewhat wide margin in both series. You don't have to just count on luck to be successful in the playoffs. Yes, some years crazy things happen. And yes, some years everything comes together over those 170 or so games ( see 2005 White Sox.) But having a deep, talented roster that is well-managed sure seems to help your chances. I'd like that for the team I root for, but unfortunately we can't seem to have nice things.- 7/27 Sox @ Rockies 2:10 CST
I guess the issue I have with that premise is we are just focused on the Central. As Sox fans, the goal needs to be bigger than that. Just because the Sox got gifted a spot in the worst division in baseball doesn’t give them an excuse to accept horseshit baseball.- 7/27 Sox @ Rockies 2:10 CST
I truly do you respect you always being positive because you do it in a way where you don’t bury your head in the sand, but you’re at least approaching it from a logical perspective. With that said, I just can’t stomach the “Hey just make the playoffs and anything will happen.” That’s not good enough, and I don’t even think it’s totally true. Why? Because we know this team will get trounced by Houston, the Yankees and the Rays, let alone the Dodgers. They just aren’t close to that level. So if they make the playoffs…what does that really get us? I’m not saying by any means I DON’T want them to make the playoffs, of course I do. But we have seen more than enough of this team since last July. We know who they are. A .500 team. Nothing more. That doesn’t play in October. - What is status of Luis Robert?
