I’m also probably on the optimistic side. Not contention by any means, but continued progress. I’ll go with 72-90 as my prediction, with next year hopefully the year we make moves (assuming there’s baseball).

McKinven is in charge of the big league catchers this year, so my assumption is he had a significant say in the move. I think he’s someone who has earned the benefit of the doubt.

I do t think it’s any more complicated than our pitchers don’t like pitching to him. And maybe I missed something, but nobody was holding a spot for Romo. He was DFA’d like two months ago.

There was a Toronto newspaper that had a headline about “Reese’s Pieces” after his incident, and he wore the name “PIECES” on his player’s weekend jersey afterwards. The name “pieces” became a sort-of nickname for him among Blue Jay fans.
