Early Trade Speculation
I'm 99.999999999999999999999999% this wouldn't happen, but I wonder who the Sox would have to give up to get Gray, Reddick, and Doolittle as a trio.

Early Trade Speculation
QUOTE (Dunt @ May 11, 2016 -> 08:49 AM) I'd be good with that combo, but Doolittle isn't exactly having a great season Absolutely. I think a starting pitcher is more of a need right now than a reliever anyway. I'd like to add a lefty to the 'pen, but the Sox desperately need another quality starter.

I really think Markakis/Teheran is the combo that best fits what the Sox are trying to do right now. CarGo would be nice, but he'll be too expensive IMO.

5/11 - White Sox @ Rangers
Let's forget that yesterday ever happened. Just win today and take 2/3. On the bright side, Jones and DRob should be available.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 11, 2016 -> 06:07 AM) Unless you're discounting the Indians, it's 5 games over CLE and 7 over the Royals and Tigers. And it seems like every pundit/prognosticator/analyst is arguing the Indians are the REAL threat to the White Sox. In the end, we're going to play all three of those teams a TON in the next 6 weeks, so the best team will be apparent then. As far as everyone saying relax, don't panic, don't worry...sure, that's fine...we heard that same thing in 2012 and 2010 and 2008 and 2006 and 2004 and 2003. Just once did we hold the lead, in 2008 over the Twins, and that was by the very thinnest of margins possible. Nobody's saying the sky is falling...we saw a sense of urgency with Danks to move on, hopefully we see the same attitude from the front office regarding Sands and Carroll. I meant 5 games, sorry. It's early and I just woke up haha.

It's frustrating, but realistically, we didn't expect the Sox to sweep Texas or even win 2/3 there. Quite frankly, I don't expect them to win today either. Just take 2/3 in New York when Sale and Q are pitching and come home 25-13. I'd be ok with a 3-3 road-trip for sure.

I went to bed when the Sox were winning 10-5. How in the world did they give up SEVEN runs in the 8th inning? Holy hell. Thankfully it's just one game, some of you need to realize that they're still leading the division by 7 games. While it's disappointing, losses like these happen sometimes.

Did anyone watching the CSN broadcast just hear a kid say "penis", or am I hearing things? Lol

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 10, 2016 -> 07:49 PM) What a joke. Why did they even start this game? Any prolonged delay and Rodon will be out, and we will have another bullpen day. To be fair, the Rangers used their bullpen heavily yesterday, so they'd be in a bit of trouble too. This is why I like having Carroll. He can pitch 4-5 innings at a time without worry.

Why is he not using his slider at all? That's probably why he's been ineffective.

Wish Avila was catching Rodon.

I'm starting to lose patience with Rodon. He has too much talent to be pitching like this.

That baserunning was...um, unfortunate.

Chris Sale: New and Improved?
I'm sorry, but that article is stupid. His K/9 so far this year is 8.4, and it's steadily climbing with every start. It's not like he's John Danks who could barely strike someone out to save his life. His stuff is just as dominant as it's always been, but he's choosing to use it less this year to get deeper in games. Who cares how he's getting outs as long as he's getting the job done? He can strike anyone out whenever he needs to, but he's finally learned that being efficient is more important than having ridiculous K numbers.

Adams, Danish, Hawkins, and Engel for Markakis, Teheran, and $5 million. Which team would say no to that deal?
-
Early Trade Speculation
What about a Markakis/Teheran combo if the Sox take on all of the salary?

Is Avi Putting It Together?
If this is the real Avi, man, this lineup is dangerous...especially if Hahn adds another lefty bat like CarGo or Reddick.

2016 MLB catch all thread
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 10, 2016 -> 11:50 AM) @obxleatherman Every team who has played at Turner Field this season has won at least two games there, except the Braves. That's actually mind boggling considering that it's May 10th. Wow. I had no idea that they were that bad.

Early Trade Speculation
Eovaldi is an interesting name. He's just 26 and is a free agent after the 2018 season, so he fits perfectly into the Sox's window of contention. I wonder what it'd take to get him.

QUOTE (flavum @ May 10, 2016 -> 11:21 AM) I usually don't root for a rain out, but Friday could be wet in NY. A couple days off for the pen might be to our advantage. That would be nice. The bullpen could be rested, as well as Sale and Q if they got pushed back a day.

I gotta assume that DRob is unavailable today, right? This would be his third consecutive day of pitching and he was terrible yesterday.
