  1. What is with all the fascination with Ian Desmond on here? He is the type of player that the Sox should be avoiding.
  2. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 10:37 PM) If the Sox really wanted to, I think they can get Desmond & Fowler for under 27.5 million for 2016. ...while giving up 2 draft picks in the process. Hell no to that idea.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 10:10 PM) Frazier, Lowry, the catchers, and the season hasn't started yet. I was referring to strictly outfielders. Frazier and Lawrie are nice but I don't know if this team is good enough even with them.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 10:07 PM) Here comes the meltdown I am not melting down. Please don't put words in my mouth. It's just annoying how the Royals and Tigers upgraded and the Sox got absolutely no one. But that's how it always is so I'm not surprised.
  5. This is disappointing. Very disappointing.
  6. How in the world do the Sox not beat that offer?
  7. @Ken_Rosenthal #WhiteSox, for example, reportedly have been interested in three-year deal for Cespedes. @jonheyman reported emergence of mystery teams.
  8. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 11:02 AM) They had to dial the phone for Avi and hand it to him because he kept reaching and flailing at the wrong receiver and missing the keypad entirely. Why the hell is Avi doing these phone calls? 99.9% of Sox fans want his ass out the door anyway
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 08:18 AM) Gardner's pretty good. 2014: 87 R 142 H 17 HR 58 RBI 21 SB .749 OPS 2015: 94 R 148 H 16 HR 66 RBI 20 SB .742 OPS Now that I look at it, he does seem like a decent fit. This lineup isn't too bad. Eaton Gardner Abreu Frazier Melky Lawrie LaRoche Navarro Saladino I guess it depends on what the Sox would have to give up for him. I wonder if Danish and Hawkins would be enough if the Sox took on his entire salary.
  10. The Sox haven't been mentioned by a national writer about Cespedes news in FOREVER. I don't know whether that's a good or bad thing.
  11. Gardner isn't great, but I wouldn't mind trading for him in the right deal. Obviously he isn't as good as Cespedes, but he could slot into the 2 hole nicely behind Eaton.
  12. raBBit is laying down the HAMMER tonight. This is entertaining.
  13. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 04:43 PM) Ya, I don't get the Brewers interest. They are rebuilding and have plenty of young talented outfielders. A veteran like Jackson makes no sense for the Brewers. Actually it does if they can sign him to a 1 year deal for cheap and flip him at the deadline for prospects.
  14. Why try and sign Cespedes when we have a perennial 30/30 threat in Avisail Garcia?
  15. I don't know how legit this guy is, so take it FWIW. @scotteRotoX Have it on very good word that the White Sox will not be in on Cespedes at all
  16. I still have a small piece of hope, but I'm preparing to be disappointed. It is what it is. Perhaps the Sox are making the right choice by not throwing a huge commitment at him. Hopefully they can find an alternative that fits their agenda better.
  17. At this point, f*** it and offer 5/125. The Sox need Cespedes.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 02:53 PM) Confirmed, and Sale has demanded a trade I know you're being sarcastic, but Sale really should demand a trade. He doesn't deserve to be on this garbage team any longer.
  19. So is Cespedes to Washington confirmed at this point or do we still have a sliver of a chance?
  20. What happened to the Yoenis Cespedes account that was on here yesterday? It says he's a guest now.
  21. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 11:39 AM) Case ya care: Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeyman 45s45 seconds ago George kottaras agrees to minors deal with giants Wasn't he in the minor leagues for the Sox a few years back?
  22. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 12:05 PM) Looking at a Nat's message board and it seems like they are trying to figure out why and how Cespedes fits their team too. They seem like they are cool with it but not ecstatic, just confused LOL. I just took a look at their forum, and holy hell, that entire website is such an eyesore. The layout is terrible.
  23. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 11:36 AM) I just want my life back. lol same here. I've been addicted to this forum for a month now.
  24. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 11:09 AM) There was a suggestion where they either deal Revere again or play him a few times a week giving the injury plagued Werth more time off. Revere could also get into every game via double switch, pinch hitting, pinch running, defensive sub. Although I don't really know who would leadoff if they signed him and cut Revere's playing time (Murphy? Seems more like a #2 though). Potential Nats lineup: Murphy 2B Rendon 3B Harper RF Cespedes CF Zimmerman 1B Werth LF Ramos C Espinosa SS That's a good lineup, but where is Trea Turner? I thought he was their top prospect?
  25. I'm back in study hall. If something happened now, that would be nice. lol
