I’m starting to think about this too. Which teams are even rumored to want an outfielder at this point? Sox, Rockies, Phillies? Maybe the Mets and Marlins? Doesn’t seem like a ton of competition. If the Sox don’t get one of the big 3 outfielders I will be very mad.

Every offseason the Sox spend at least $10 million on reclamation projects and scrubs that will be DFAed in June instead of using that money towards an impact player. It drives me nuts.

This has been an awful offseason for the Sox so far. Don’t have any faith that they will make a good move at this point.

It’s sad how much of a yes man Stone has become. He used to provide insightful analysis, all he does now is protect Jerry’s checkbook.

No, there was hardly any chatter before the Sox signed Grandal and Keuchel signings. I remember being really excited when I saw those tweets because those moves came out of nowhere. There were rumors linking the Sox to Hendriks though before he signed here.

Getting outbid by the Rockies in the middle of a championship window would be fucking pathetic, but I wouldn’t be surprised given that it’s the White Sox we’re talking about here.

I’m reserving judgement until the offseason is over. As of now I’m not impressed, but we’ll see the rest of the plan unfold soon. I do agree with your point of them using too much capital on relievers. Finding good relievers off the scrap heap is one of the few things the Sox are actually good at as a franchise, yet they spend big dollars on relievers every single offseason anyway. Don’t make much sense to me considering the other needs on the roster.

Oh I don’t disagree at all. But Duber acts like the Sox are fine with who they have as if Keuchel is still good. I’m convinced Jerry pays him under the table to spread this propaganda.
