My buddies and I have been calling him Sammy Gabagool because we enjoy it.

It's something I tread very lightly on (or at least try to) in general, especially since the Sox never really played in the deep end for the higher profile guys that would demand more immediate attention. IMO it's really hard to judge until they're stateside since the level of play isn't necessarily great, but the guys that show out definitely get on my/our radar for the future. The start that Romero is off to is hard to ignore that's for sure.

I don't know man, most of what I see (outside of him being chummy with Big Podcast[s]) is people not enjoying him/PBP. He obviously has some fans out there, and maybe the detractors are just the "vocal minority" type of situation, but I tend to side with the feedback I get (myself included), that while he's certainly improved he's still not good at the job.

What Romero is doing is fantastic. Obviously it's early but he may in fact be a dude.

They've never played in the deep end with the rest of MLB so they essentially got what they paid for, but the higher profile signing(s) should start picking up with the next class.
