  1. Perfect. Although this is hardly an update, it's still funny.
  2. I'm nowhere on record saying that they will sign him. The Sox should sign him, but we're all too familiar with the team's history in free agency. I'd just prefer to read about Trevor Bauer news in a Trevor Bauer thread, which doesn't seem like an outlandish request.
  3. Thanks for the update JR.
  4. STOP ? TALKING ? ABOUT ? NOMAR ? MAZARA ? IN ? THE ? TREVOR ? BAUER ? UPDATE ? THREAD ?. Factoring in the eye test, he's still below average. Let's move on, yes?
  5. Keep checking this thread for Bauer updates and all I'm getting is hearty helpings of Mazara. No thank you.
  6. Kluber has a club option of 18M for 2021. I would think that the Rangers won't exercise his option at that rate, which would put him on the market. That's why I said if his medical checks out I'd be interested. Based on his resume and the likelihood that he could be had for a reasonable amount and (most likely) a short term commitment, it could be a nice fit.
  7. Missing most of the last two years is concerning, but if his medicals checked out I'd be interested in Kluber as the second pitcher added to the staff. He has playoff experience, regular season track record, and could be another valuable asset for the young arms to learn from. He'll turn 35 in April so he's no spring chicken, but maybe a 1 year deal with a team option could fly for him?
  8. Cora and Sandy could be in the mix as well.
  9. In one particular Sox Machine Off-season play , they had a trade of Rodon + PTBNL for Hader. Some people spend too much time playing The Show.
  10. I would like to believe that the team would prefer stability in the manager role in their contention window rather than more turnover and 3 different voices in 3 seasons? Doesn't seem like an optimal situation to put the players in.
  11. If you say enough stuff you're bound to be right every now and then. I'm still waiting for Codi Heuer to be traded...
  12. Zaleski has been credited by numerous Sox prospects to really helping them improve when they were working together. Some of those guys were pitching for the Sox this season. He knows a good deal about what they have and who they have coming up behind them, so it wouldn't be a ridiculous option.
  13. And let's be honest, it's much easier to send the manager packing rather than getting rid of your entire starting lineup.
  14. True, he's the only one that we know of now, and I expect others to be interviewed. I just think it's an overreaction to TLR right now.
  15. They did, under unique circumstances. For the Sox to only interview one candidate would be weird IMO.
  16. What job would only interview one candidate for a position? It's just weird.
  17. I don't care about him interviewing or even going first, but treating their hiring process as if they aren't interviewing one other candidate is ridiculous. We've heard rumblings of Hinch, but that can't get going until after the WS. Other potential candidates have teams still playing right now, so obviously they can't be interviewed either. Like, I can't wrapy head around the whole concept of it being a one and done situation, because I 100% believe that it won't be and that TLR isn't their guy.
  18. So all of a sudden, the White Sox, notorious for being under the radar and keeping their moves under wraps until deals are complete, have info leaking out to the media about their managerial search. Let alone, literally the first person mentioned by media to be getting an interview is now 100% guaranteed (in the eyes of some) to get the job, if he chooses. IMO, something seems very fishy about the whole ordeal and what we've heard.
  19. He thinks that, "if he wants, it's his". He doesn't know, it's his opinion, just like Bob. I'm saying he wasn't told that he's candidate numero uno, he thinks this. If they both turn out to be right, it'll be incredibly stupid of this organization, veering off the path of using logic and reasoning over dumbassery in recent years.
  20. The previous posts, to me, seemed more sky is falling panicky, rather than giving the full context of what he said. Felt like it was important to clear that up for those who didn't listen and we're just reading along here.
  21. Who else besides old reliable Bob has said he's their first choice? Anyone credible?
  22. Dude, he confirmed they're going to interview him, which we all know. He gave his opinion on a percentage of the likelihood of it happening, prefaced with he's not a betting man. His interview didn't give off the opinion that he had any inside knowledge at all, he was just guessing. What sense would it make, in the Sox's theoretical playoff window, to NOT go after manager that is supposed to lead them through the entirety of said window?
