You should check out Collins' AAA line last year pre and post his call up. After he was sent back down, he made some adjustments and tore up the IL in almost the same sample size. If Yermin gets DH ABs sure. If people think Collins isn't a good catcher, just wait until Yermin is behind the plate.

Trades happen. Typically you don't move your big ticket FA acquisition and largest guaranteed contract (to date) 1 year into his deal to extend a catcher that isn't as good. The way you're treated by the organization does matter to players when they're choosing a new home.

Nothing would make big free agents want to come here less than trading Grandal a year into his deal.

I'm nowhere on record saying that they will sign him. The Sox should sign him, but we're all too familiar with the team's history in free agency. I'd just prefer to read about Trevor Bauer news in a Trevor Bauer thread, which doesn't seem like an outlandish request.

Kluber has a club option of 18M for 2021. I would think that the Rangers won't exercise his option at that rate, which would put him on the market. That's why I said if his medical checks out I'd be interested. Based on his resume and the likelihood that he could be had for a reasonable amount and (most likely) a short term commitment, it could be a nice fit.

Missing most of the last two years is concerning, but if his medicals checked out I'd be interested in Kluber as the second pitcher added to the staff. He has playoff experience, regular season track record, and could be another valuable asset for the young arms to learn from. He'll turn 35 in April so he's no spring chicken, but maybe a 1 year deal with a team option could fly for him?

Cora and Sandy could be in the mix as well.
