  1. Eliminates one more team out of the managerial search.
  2. Prospects Live has their top 200 list out
  3. For me, I'm not ready to proclaim that the sky is falling just yet over Merk's tweet. While it would be EXTREMELY on brand for the Sox to do some dumbass s%*# like that, paired with their aversion to outside influences for whatever dumb reason, I'm saving my outrage for when a dumb decision is actually confirmed. We expect them to be dumb bc they've given us no reason to think otherwise, but to me it just seems that there's so much conflicting info out there at the moment that I'm not getting too hung up on the "on-brand" parts right now. I truly hope they try something different for once in their lives, this org BADLY needs an influx of it.
  4. merk out here planting seeds ?
  5. Pedro Grifol as well. Cairo is supposed to get one, just nothing confirmed as to if that's happened yet.
  6. Yep that doesn't all add up, but I'm sure the job security and millions of dollars over the years would go a long way in keeping one content with their situation.
  7. From speaking to a few of the employees in the past, some pull double duty working for both the Cubs/Sox or other event type work during the summer and shifting over to the UC during the winter months depending on the company they're employed by.
  8. Fartlington Heights more like it
  9. Probably because they needed the money
  10. I'd rather just have Beltran as manager over the combo.
  11. TIFWIW, but going from an old manager with heart problems to a slightly younger manager with heart problems seems problematic no?
  12. Yeah that's right. The teams with the same record with different odds are based on how they finished and probably just general math to have the odds equal to 100. Tiebreaker is based on record last year. That's how the Sox jumped the Giants for the 15th slot since SF had a better record in 21.
  13. Hahn getting laughed at for acquiring Eloy and Cease for Q seems like the wrong reason to laugh at Hahn. There are plenty of other and way more valid reasons for Hahn to be laughed at.
  14. The lottery only affects the first round, goes by record after that. Playoff teams are placed in draft as they lose. https://www.mlb.com/news/2023-mlb-draft-lottery-odds
  15. With the Sox loss and Giants win today, the Sox end the season in the 15th pick position for the lottery. Smack dab in the middle, quite fitting for the team if you ask me. Simmed about 20-30 lotteries on Tankathon before winning.
  16. People got off the juice and greenies and aging took over.
  17. https://youtu.be/PLJx7x72amo Not sure if this is the presser in its entirety, but it seems around right.
  18. JR has conditioned the masses well over the decades, so many pining for Ozzie or AJP over new voices with outside influence makes me a sad panda.
  19. Luis Reyes is the only player on this list that the White Sox are connected to. Jun-Seok Shim (#10) isn't linked to anyone at the moment FWIW
  20. Exactly. The White Sox are the "Hold my beer" meme of the MLB.
  21. We're most likely going to re-up, but our group is pissed off at what happened this year. Assuming we do re-up, we'll definitely be reducing our total number of tix, but that's based on a couple members in our group moving out of state. I think a lot depends on the managerial search and how they approach the off-season. If they're going to cheap out again, we'll do the same and just grab tix off the secondary for games we want to go to for a cheaper price point than the primary market.
  22. The fact that they kept running him out there out of pure desperation for weeks while he was clearly injured, hurting himself and the team, was laughable and would be grounds for firing by 29 other orgs.
