  1. Millions. Maury's still sick and me and Guido both had to drive to different destinations after the game so we had to be sober
  2. In Koch's defense, give Grudzelanik credit. I'm not a big fan of Koch by any means but that was a pitcher's pitch (letter high, black of the outside corner) which Grudzelanik battled the other way nicely for a double. The only bad pitch Koch threw really was the single to ShamME. If he was corked, who knows where that might have ended up
  3. Waiting for Maury's take.....

As far as League rivalries go? Yeah. As far as Interleague rivalries go? This is THE Interleague rivalry. Yanks/Mets can't touch this one and none of the other so-called "geographic rivalries" even come close.

The ball barely made it over the fence and landed in the first row. A bomb
  8. Stone will say something cynical like, "You can't expect to win ballgames when your players don't do the little things." Chip just says something stupid about the blimps or the sun or the best is when he goes silent. Ron Santo = "NOOOOO OH NOOOOOOO" (btw DOES ANYBODY HAVE THIS ON TAPE???? I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE) I don't have it on tape, but the best Santo "Oh No!" was back in '98..... Cubs vs. Brewers..... 9th Inning..... 2 Outs..... Cubs Up By 2 Trying To Win The WildCard..... and BRANT BROWN DROPPED THE GODDAMN BALL LETTING ALL 3 BREWERS SCORE TO WIN THE GAME!!!!! I can hear it now..... "NNNNNOOOOO!" "OH GOD JESUS NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
  9. Roman's just trying to do his best to not be called the SoxTalk resident WindSox..... that's all.

Just admit that you're a moron and get on with your life. 2 runs were scored on Alou's HR which wasn't, by any means, a bad pitch..... but he left it in Moisty A-lube's wheelhouse. One of the runs scored was late in the game when MB was nearing the 100 pitch count and Gordon gave up a hit with the runner MB put on scoring a run. Outside of hanging a few breaking balls today that the Cubs took advantage of but the sCrUBS didn't hit out of the park, MB pitched well and got his second win in a row.

The HULK is so unrealistic looking that it borders on the bizarre and disturbing. Sort of like Scooby Doo in the live action movie. >>
  12. We don't have 12 pitchers anymore. Kelly W is on the DL. That means bye-bye Josh
  13. I know for a fact that the bat should never be level . Seriously though, if you think bunting is easy, go to a batting cage. Go to the cage that is the fastest and try bunting a few. I've done it in a cage that I clocked at 90 MPH with a friend. I hit the ball straight-away and deep before I laid down a bunt that I didn't flat out miss, bunt straight back foul, or bunt into my face. FYI..... bunting a ball into your face hurts . Bunting is a skill that all MLB players should be able to do. Having said that, it still isn't easy but the pros should have no excuse for not being able to do it when the situation arises.
  14. Drowning their sorrows in a nearby Wrigleyville bar no doubt. After all, the team isn't the reason to go to the games. It's the ballpark and the neighborhood.

Don't know what board you've been reading but it has been a long time since anyone has had anything nice to say about PK. If a poster saying, "I hope PK snaps out of it," is defending to the death, then..... yeah..... everyone here loves PK and will defend his honor to the death

I only said Maggs was the franchise player because, quite frankly, time is more on the side of Maggs. Not to mention, Big Frank hasn't put up his earlier numbers in 3.5 of the last 4.5 seasons.
  17. It was mostly Sox fans by that point. The "diehards" started clearing out after 7 .
  18. Maybe, just maybe..... IT HAPPENED!!!!!
  19. Chimp still blows but he sounds much better with Stone in the booth to give a practical perspective. Case in point, when ShamME lost the ball in the 4th off Maggs bat, Chimp wanted to blame the "Sanyo Blimp." Stone countered with something to the effect of, "Well..... you could blame the sun..... but it's always in the sky..... in the same location..... nearly every day when you play RF just the same." Stone's little way I think of telling Chimp to shut the hell up and not make excuses for a botched play.

When Maggs hit that fly ball that ShamME lost in the sun which led to a double after it dropped next to ShamME, I about s*** myself when Chimp blamed the "Sanyo Blimp" for distracting Soso since the blimp is white with a smattering of red
  21. If his head was in the game he wouldn't be f***ing up
