Garcia came to the White Sox and signed a $9 million per deal because of Ozzie and the new ties to the Guillen family. The fact that he signed a deal during the '04 season before testing the market is proof enough.

I'd like to know what other teams were trying to outbid KW for Todd Ritchie
-
KW always gives up too much. Imagine what he'd part with for a Randy Johnson
-
Yippee!!!!! With the idiot KW running this Organization?
-
:rolly :rolly :rolly :rolly :rolly Did you like Billy Botch? :rolly Unbelievable. Best closer the Sox had since, arguably, Thigpen.
-
Yeah..... Foulke always blows those big games :rolly If someone didn't replace WoManny with CLee in the 8th inning, Foulke would have been practically untouchable. Meanwhile, Billy Koch is making firewood out of his "cursed columns." :rolly Billy Koch for Keith Foulke might go down as one of the worst Sox trades ever. But at least it saved JR money!
-
Randy Johnson..... Carl Pavano..... or any other top tier SP will not be a member of the 2005 White Sox campaign. A Russ Ortiz or Eric Milton is more realistic..... especially Ortiz..... who KW has had his eye on for sometime now.

I know/work with many military people..... including NUKE..... and the overwhelming majority of them wouldn't piss on Clinton if he was on fire. The other's were indifferent that led towards dislike near the end of Clinton's tenure. That had to do with the whole BJ-thing while fellow military people were being killed without any retribution on the USS Cole and such.

The "I Can't Fucking Wait Till Tuesday" Thread
CubKilla replied to Wise Master Buehrle's topic in SLaM
Back in the 80's during the Super Mario Brothers-Legend of Zelda-First and 10-Donkey Kong-Days, I would have agreed with you. PS2 and XBox are the more popular systems for a reason. And I still haven't finished Vice City but plan on getting GTA-SA on Tuesday. -
Ditto. On other, more involved political tests, I've been scored a Centrist.
-
You were one of only a few. I remember getting my ass lit up like a community doobie the day of that trade when I said it was a bad trade for the Sox. "BAD TRADE????? WE GOT A 'FIREBALLER' WHO WAS A 'ROLAID'S RELIEF PITCHER OF THE YEAR!!!!!'"

:rolly :rolly :rolly :rolly :rolly And this news is shocking to you why?

You actually have pretty good taste in beer minus the Piss-steiner and Pabst Here's the definitive good beer list compliments of yours truly. Largely available domestics left off the list for obvious reasons and because I have taste. Pilsners: Pilsner Urquell, Burnham Pilsner (no longer available ), Three Floyd's Gumball Head (not sure if this is classified by the brewery as a "pilsner" though) Lagers: Sam Smith's Lager, Samuel Adams Boston Lager Ales: Three Floyd's Pride and Joy Mild Ale, Samuel Adams Boston Ale Pale Ales: Bass, Flying Dog Classic Pale Ale (#1 Pale Ale IMHO), Three Floyd's Alpha King American Style Pale Ale, Three Floyd's Mongolian Style Pale Ale, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Bell's Pale Ale Stouts (Oatmeal's included): Guinness, Bell's Kalamazoo Stout, Three Floyd's "Precious" Oatmeal Stout, Samuel Adam's Cream Stout, Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout Variety Beers with Fruit Accents: Pyramid Apricot Ale, Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat, Leinenkugel's Berry Weiss, Unibroue Ephimere (Green Apple accents from Quebec), Bell's Cherry Stout Weiss: Hacher Pschoor Summer Selections: Samuel Adams Summer Ale, Bell's Oberon, Three Floyd's Rabid Rabbit Saison, Samuel Adams White Ale (Spring to Summer) Winter Selections: Dogfish Head Au Courant (best beer EVER), Bell's Three-Hearted, Goose Island Christmas Ale, Samuel Adams Winter Lager Favorite Overall Brewery: Three Floyd's..... located just over the State Line in Munster, In. Haven't had a bad Three Floyd's yet and 3F is responsible for creating the #2 beer in the world..... The "DarkLord"..... according to the World Beer Championships (no plans by Three Floyd's to brew any "Dark Lord" anytime soon either ) Avoid Amber Ales AT ALL COSTS. Terrible after-tastes. Avoid any beer where a wedge of fruit is added for greater texture. Adding fruit means the beer don't taste very good on it's own to an experienced beer drinker. And remember..... if any of the above seem foreign to a novice beer drinker..... life's too short to drink s*** beer

You're right. Politte, Jackson, and Uribe..... some of last season's "acquired good players"..... are not my types of "marque players."
-
KW will always make attempts on the Sox behalf. It's this Organization's track record as a whole and JR's shady behind-the-scenes dealings that drive away anyone that could do some real help to this Organization.
-
He deserved it after putting up respectable numbers when given the chance during the course of a full season. He deserved all the "Dorn" rips he got when his BA was under the "Mendoza Line."
-
So, injury or not, Maggs would have been gone and playing for someone else then, if he does play again, in 2005. There's a shock. And you know I crap on them because of this Organization's track record. The Organization won't seriously pursue a Beltran, a Pavano, a Clement, or any other mid to high priced FA because JR and Co. will be too busy screaming poor. After 20+ years of the same crap year in and year out..... cheapness, failure to fill holes, blaming fans and attendance and now the media..... why am I supposed to believe anything is going to change suddenly for '05?
-
The $62-$65 million you just mentioned
-
What's that have to do with reallocating the Maggs money to Beltran?
-
Given the choice between a .225 hitter in Crede at 3rd and a .225 hitter w/more HR's and errors at 3rd, I guess it's wishful thinking on a MIN sportswriters part that either one or both would be in the Sox 3B plans for '05.
-
This injury is the greatest thing that could have happened for JR. Whether Maggs is as well as he says he is after surgery is anyone's guess. But now JR has his excuse to cheap out again. I'll believe JR was serious about signing Maggs when he reallocates the Maggs money to make an offer to Beltran. Won't happen.
