The Sox almost drew 2 million to USCF last season and the product didn't improve one iota from the previous couple of seasons. When JR and Co. take a legit shot at winning, I'll start paying to go to Sox games again. Until then, JR and Co. can go pound. The only one out of those 4 getting paid real $$$$$ is Garcia and, if he wasn't going to be a relation to OG, he'd have tested the FA waters and gotten more than what the Sox offered him from a handful of teams. Hats off to FG though for not being entirely too greedy and putting family before $$$$$. NYY paid alot of Contreras' contract off for Uncle Jerry. Perfect pick-up where JR is concerned. MB is underpaid for the numbers he puts up consistently and is exactly what JR is looking for in a pitcher and who, after '06, will be GONE when he gets a better offer from a better organization. And Garland sucks..... but is a cheap arm that, if the Sox go out and acquire a number 2 or 3 this offseason, will be a steal as a number 4 or 5 guy.

Set your expectations for the White Sox low like I do. Then when the inevitable happens, it doesn't upset you as much considering you knew what was probably going to happen. Of course, you'll have to be ready to eat a bit of crow once every 5 or 6 years and have it thrown in your face by the FOJR or the FOKW when the Sox will occasionally go out and grab a big name like a Colon or a Belle.

The key word in the above post is, of course, "expensive." The White Sox will only take a chance on cheap, ".....nobody else really wants you pal....." talent like Esteban Loaiza in '03.

Stem Cell Research was such a hot-button for so many lefties this past election (not THE hot-button, but one of the top 5 nonetheless) that some I knew were actually shocked when I told them Stem Cell Research is going on everyday in this country through private funding. Some of Christopher Reeves' bomb-throwing, leftist, Hollywood-elitist friends like Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, and Sean Penn should think about putting their money where their mouth is.
