  1. I'm gonna put this as nicely as possible..... why, after one and one half months of MLB play, are you ready to call Borchard "a nothing?" Is one and one half months of MLB play (in which JB was, more often than not, a late inning replacement or PH) enough to consider him a bust? Is seeing him bat 4 times enough to label him a stiff? Please, explain why Joe Borchard is, in your opinion, tantamount to "a nothing?" Common courtesy and respect for a fellow White Sox fan will keep me from telling you how I really feel about the BS you just posted.
  2. You should take this little bit of wisdom to heart before writing off Borchard as a stiff.
  3. He's been in the minor leagues for two seasons now (I think) and he's already been up to the big leagues late in 2002 where, in limited action, he hit around .210 with 2 HR's and 5 RBI's (I think). Borchard himself has said that he knows he needs more time in the minor leagues to "shorten his swing." Being able to compete at the major league level doesn't come over night..... ask Joe Crede. I can't figure out why posters on this board are ready to pull the plug on this guy after only one month in the big leagues.
  4. I remember a big series right after the All-Star break where Detroit handed us our asses..... Sox lost 4 out of 5 I think. I'm not too sure what the season W-L record was. I remember that weekend hurt the Sox though.
  5. Haven't you stated that Hummel has been regressing too? If you haven't, I don't mean to put words into your mouth. I heard nothing but good things about Miles. First I heard of this.
  6. I gotta give you credit HSC..... that was funny..... and you know I've been one of Caballo's biggest fans for awhile now.
  7. Liefer has said that he wants to start, and if he doesn't here, he'd like to be traded...that's all he's said. I guess that makes Liefer a whiner. And I'm sure it doesn't matter to Roman that JM stated that he did JL a "disservice," according to KW, by sitting him as often as he did in 2002 and not playing him. Just remember witesoxfan, this is the guy that one day was KW's buddy then..... the next day..... he "officially" jumped off the KW bandwagon, the guy that is now "feeling" a career year for C Lee when..... only 2-3 weeks ago..... he was ecstatic about the Colon et al deal for C Lee et al deal, the guy who stated that Konerko wasn't a "real hitter" because he struggled in September but Thomas was a "real hitter" because he showed a little life in September..... after Thomas battled with the "Mendoza Line" in the opening months of 2002, etc., etc., etc. Roman's like Chicago weather..... hot on Monday and cold on Tuesday.
  8. Another album I have to get.
  9. How many ML games did Borchard start last year? Then, how many games was Borchard a late-inning replacement? He was with the ML Organization how long last season? A month? A month-and-one-half tops? Same thing with Jimenez. But, since Jimenez had a little bit more success in his month at the ML level, a month that had Jimenez starting and playing nearly the complete and every game either at 2B or SS because KW traded for and got raped on the Durham deal, you're ready to declare Jimenez a star and Borchard a stiff? You saw Borchard play one game (I assume) because you stated you saw him bat 4 times, but because he struck out 3 of the 4 times, all the scouts are wrong? And, outside of a perceived lack of range after watching Borchard play one game (UGH!), what other reasons do you have to conclude that there is no way JB could play CF? Because of his size? Please.
  10. There's no way in hell JR is even going to consider Pettite. JR would never pick up a SP contract like Pettite's. It's El Doody or nothing.
  11. You forgot about Marte too. Bring Marte in with no one on base..... he's very effective. RISP? That's a different story.

    hey witesoxfan

It's gonna be rough being a Dolphins fan for the next few seasons. The Dave Wannstedt meltdown has begun. He had that same, stupid, "Where the hell am I..... WTF am I doing here?" look on his face as the Dolphins lost to NE..... the same face he had for 12 or 13 games a season while coaching the Bears. :**** Dave Wannstedt!!!!!
  13. At least they're spending money. The Yankees made the playoffs but were eliminated last year. The White Sox finished second, at .500, and the Organization is cutting payroll. Tell me..... what's wrong with this picture?

Yo Murc..... nothing beats having a remote control in one hand, a beer in the other, and some beaver riding up and down on your pole.
  15. Makes me SO happy to be a Sox fan :puke
  16. If that was offered and he rejected it, he's a fool. That is why I don't think it was an actual offer..... maybe a number batted around by Buehrle and his agent which JR scoffed at. I don't see the White Sox offering Buehrle anything more than 7 million over 3 years. either way, some one from the mark b camp has to say something. is this some sort of damage control that kw is doing in case he might have to trade him I don't think even KW is dumb enough to trade Buehrle at this stage of the game. Given the history of relative cheapness out of this Organization and JR's opinion on signing SP's, one can practically guarantee the "Zito-money" offered to MB was in the ballpark but was not at or above what Zito makes. KW is already staking his claim to the "don't-blame-me-that-MB-is-gone" moniker.
  17. I suppose. Just that I don't want Ring to be another Crede..... waiting for a closer spot in the pen to open up. I've heard nothing less than spectacular predictions for this kid as a possible big league closer.
  18. Does KW think it is going to take Royce Ring 3 full seasons in the minors to prove himself capable of closing? He must considering he's so proud of the fact that Koch is our's for 3 seasons when Foulke was a free-agent at the end of 2003.
  19. His drumming talents were put to much better use on the new Queens of the Stone Age album.
  20. If that was offered and he rejected it, he's a fool. That is why I don't think it was an actual offer..... maybe a number batted around by Buehrle and his agent which JR scoffed at. I don't see the White Sox offering Buehrle anything more than 7 million over 3 years.
  21. Ok..... that's two "kicked ass" votes for Tenacious D????? WTF????? That song sucks!!!!! It's stupid. It's like a cheap knock-off of The Devil Went Down to Georgia but it fails on all levels. It's not even a good parody-type song. :pukeTenacious D
  22. I didn't like the trade the day it was made and I still don't like it. I like Koch's attitude though. Unless Koch has a career year as a closer, you won't be able to judge who got the best of this trade until we see what Valentine does. I believe the change in scenery and clubhouse attitude will do Foulke more good than Koch. Like I said the day of the trade, I will reserve judgment on all KW deals until I see for myself. Nothing disappointed me more than being correct about the Toad Ritchie deal.
  23. Only KW has said that. Nobody ever reported it. ummm i still see trouble here, even if kw is lieing. my question is if kw is lieing, then is this the making of a very confrontational meeting with mark b and his camp? I'm telling you all right now, Buehrle is gone the first chance he gets.
  24. Only KW has said that. Nobody ever reported it.
  25. Exactly...but it's not like he got picked off 3B with 1 out in the 9th or anything like that in his career. Ummmmm..... yeah he did. Friday night game in June against the Expos in the bottom of the ninth with, I think at the time, no outs. Me and Guido were at the game. I'm a C Lee fan but that was inexcusable. :puke
