Nomar wants to go to the West Coast where Mia wants to be.

A BP arm A SP Two bats That's the short list.

Yeah..... it's easier to accept failure in July rather than September

I've been reading alot lately..... no..... alot since about March, that all the White Sox have to do is get to the ALDS then anything can happen once they are there. Recent struggles aside, this is a team that, even when Maggs and Hurt were in the line-up, only have a season high 5-game win streak to show as anything even remotely close to a hot streak. So, my question to all those who have been pushing the "get there then win and win alot" philosophy is, does this team, as it is right now, if it's lucky enough to take advantage of a tough upcoming MIN schedule, have the talent to make a run against an Anaheim, Oakland, Texas, New York, or Boston?
-
Now there's a news flash. JR is cheap. Who'd have thunk it ?
-
I love it when people depend on another team choking rather than on our team winning and taking care of it's own business. Maybe MIN will lose 15 in a row and we'll be able to win 4 of our next 15. BTW..... don't look now..... Cleveland is right on the White Sox's ass.

Judy's Jockers usually take a page out of a Cub Fan's Handbook right around March..... "This year is Judy's year." When he inevitably fails to breakout and is average as ever, it's..... "Wait'll next year."

Patience is a virtue and that virtue has been lost on me in regards to Judy Garland. He's had almost 4 full seasons of mediocrity and I've had an ass full of Judy's s***. As far as the White Sox are concerned, I guess it's just how long do you give him now to get his s*** straight. I guess JR figures time is on the White Sox side.

Include Harris and you have a deal

The White Sox were hardly one of the "best teams on paper" on April 5, 2004. Not one f***ing offseason move of note other than Uribe and Takatsu. Sox were in a hole from Day 1 and success was completely dependant on too many factors that would be working against the Sox for a 6 month season. You get what you pay for and JR didn't pay for s*** until the Garcia signing and that will probably go for naught in '04 unless the Sox turn it around and turn it around quick. REALLY QUICK.
-
He's not. Garland alone wouldn't get the Bo Sox to deal Nomar either..... even with the spectre of Nomar leaving Boston at season's end. Epstein would be crazy to trade Nomar for Judy straight up.
-
2 runs so far. But it's not like Garland has been the only one to pull this s***. Sad to say, it's becoming routine for Judy and Loaiza especially.
-
The only numbers that matter..... Judy Garland 2000: 4-8 2001: 6-7 2002: 12-12 2003: 12-13 2004 (to date): 7-7 I don't give a f*** what any of Judy's supporters say when it comes to WHIP, ERA, IP, Home/Away, Righty vs. Lefty, etc. The only numbers that mean s*** clearly show that Judy is mediocre to a fault. Who cares what your other stats are when your career W-L is 41-47 over 4+ seasons?
-
Those are recent woes. Please explain Garland's consistent mediocrity or is it that he's young and needs more time to develop?
-
No. I was still under the delusion that maybe Judy would become what everyone here hoped he could/should have been by August of '04.
-
I agree but does it matter anymore? Even if we get Cy Garland tonight, guaranteed we get Judy Garland in his next start. I've written this guy off as a number 4 SP, at best, that will hover around .500 his whole career. If anyone out there offers up a deal where Judy is mentioned, please KW, by all means, deal him.

White House: Reefer Madness Could Be Reality
CubKilla replied to LowerCaseRepublican's topic in SLaM
Obviously DUI deaths involving marijuana were left off of this list. But marijuana, like alcohol for the most part, when use of mechanical machinery is taken out of the equation, is generally harmelss and only, over time, makes you dumber. -
I liked Kerry Wood of all people holding him back after the coaching staff got him into the dugout. Hypocrite.

Ben Davis makes Joe Crede look like Ted Williams.

A playoff "contender" isn't going to do too much contending with two medicore pitchers in their top 4. Schoenweis sucks, Garland is mediocre at best, Loaiza's good start to '04 (he was getting "W's" even with all the long balls) after '03 had me hoping that maybe KW found a diamond in the rough, but it is becoming apparent that the '04 Loaiza is closer to the '04 Garland than the '03 AL Cy Young Runner-Up. But maybe they'll all get hot at the same time if the Sox make the playoffs!

Not bad. Good to see one of the older posters is back here. But what's going on? You leave and Baggio shows up. Then you come back to post and Baggio is MIA.
-
Did Crede and Lee switch uniforms and positions the last two games. Crede's only saving grace for his no-hitting ass is his defense and he booted 3 flyballs in 2 games. Who does Crede think he is? Sammy Sosa? At least you get a little "O" with ShamME..... :puke
