  1. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 08:31 PM) "ChiSox Bar & Grill is a feast for the eyes and ears of every White Sox fan" I don't think it's 21 anymore. I stand corrected. That change must be one of the many changes made by the Sox to make the experience better for the fans. The last game I was with my 18 year old nephew this season, we walked right past ChiSox Bar & Grill because we thought the 21 age rule was still in effect. Regarding Big Hurt Beer, I think the product is no longer in production, because I have not found the beer anywhere recently
  2. No problem. I have an 18 year old nephew that I have taken to a few games. We have walked pasted the outdoor portion of the 'ChiSox Bar & Grill' a few times when the area was full with fans. My nephew wishes that he can join the party, but he has to wait 3 more years.
  3. Like I said in my previous message, the original poster (Pete) is bringing his 9 year old son. Nobody is allowed inside 'Chisox Bar & Grill' under 21 years of age.
  4. The original poster is bringing his 9 year old son, so the 'ChiSox Bar & Grill' (formerly Bacardi At The Park) can be eliminated because nobody is allowed inside under 21 years of age. There are plenty of food options inside the stadium. I recommend a double 'Comiskey Burger', a new food item this season. Wasn't cheap ($9.50) but tasted great. .
  5. As usual, every game will be televised on free TV, but viewers will have to listen to the opposing team's announcers for some of the broadcasts. New this year, is that the ABC7 telecasts will be re-aired on free television at 7PM Saturday and Sunday on WLS-TV sub-channel 7-2 (Live Well Network). 8. Which is why I want to go just one time, to say that I have visited that stadium once in my life. Plus, I now have a gasoline powered car (not a hybrid or electric) that gets over 50 mpg on Interstate highways, so that helps with the cost.
  9. I am going on Wednesday night. This will be my first visit to the new Busch Stadium. But I did attend a game at the previous Busch stadium in the early 90's before the playing surface was changed from astroturf to natural grass. I know that the Cardinals are very popular and have a huge local following in their area. Does anyone think that cheap, walk-up tickets will be available at the stadium box office? I plan on getting to the Busch Stadium around 5PM, and I am concerned that the game could sell-out.
  10. Chicago White Sox at St. Louis Cardinals Stadium: Busch Stadium Broadcasters: Ken Harrelson and Steve Stone Game telecast time: 7:00 PM Central / 8:00 PM Eastern * 'WGN Sports on my50' 8 over-the-air TV stations: Chicago WPWR-TV Gary, Channel 50 (my network TV) Rockford WREX, Channel 13-3 (Me TV) Quad Cities WQAD-TV Moline, Channel 8-3 (my network TV) Cedar Rapids / Waterloo / Iowa City KCRG-TV Cedar Rapids, Channel 9-2 (my network TV) Peoria / Bloomington, IL WAOE Peoria, Channel 59 (my network TV) Quincy / Hannibal WGEM-TV Quincy, Channel 10-2 (The CW) - not confirmed South Bend WSJV Elkhart, IN, Channel 28-2 (H&I Heroes & Icons) * Fort Wayne WANE-TV, Channel 15-2 (Antenna TV) * The game on Tuesday night is supposed to air on Quincy station WGEM-TV, Channel 10-2, however the schedule at the station's website and other listings indicate normal CW programming. If the listings are a mistake, the game will be the first WGN Sports telecast of the season airing in the 'Quincy / Hannibal' market. Also, the WGN telecast won't be airing in the 'Springfield / Decatur / Champaign' market, which is a shame because of the high local interest of both teams in that area. But I think the Cardinals' regional sports network (Fox Sports Midwest) is available in that area to viewers who pay for cable or satellite. .

  13. Now both the White Sox and Cumulus Media (owner of WLS Radio) are denying any deal. "There is no deal with WLS," Boyer told the Daily Herald. "Our rights are up after this season, but there is no imminent deal. There is certainly interest in our rights from all parties listed and we are doing our due diligence with all interested parties, but I'm not sure where today's blog post came from. "Understandable, plausible argument, guess. (Feder) never reached out to anyone here seeking comment." http://www.dailyherald.com/article/2015062...orts/150629594/ While that may still prove to be accurate, Cumulus Media CEO Lewis Dickey says not so fast. He confirms that Cumulus has been bidding for the Sox broadcasts, as have other stations, but he said he doesn't have a signed agreement yet. http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/201...s-am-890-report .

  20. I also wish Hawk a full and speedy recovery. In the Sun-Times article, he said that "he can't get all of the TV broadcasts at his home in Indiana". I know that Comcast SportsNet is available in the South Bend area on cable and both dishes. And all 55 of the WGN Sports telecasts are available locally on Channel 28-2 'H&I Heroes & Icons', a digital sub-channel of Fox affiliate, Channel 28 WSJV Elkhart / South Bend. http://www.fox28.com/story/28282654/2015/0...white-sox-games Sounds like Hawk needs to hook-up some rabbit ears to his television, so his family can watch all of the games. http://www.bing.com/maps/?mapurl=https://t...%26state=IN.kml

  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 01:04 PM) So this is from a year ago? No, but Vasgersian and Smoltz is a nice combo. I can't correct the year. Maybe an Administrator knows how to fix that. Does anyone know how fans located outside of the Blue zone can watch the game tonite? Is MLB.TV and MLB Extra Innings blacked out when Fox is airing games?

  24. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 03:24 PM) Why is this an issue in 2015? Just google white sox TV stations or simply go to the sox site Do you think that the White Sox website is better? http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/schedu..._affiliates.jsp On the above link, they don't indicate what games the TV stations are airing. The channel numbers / sub-channel numbers are not listed. The information is incomplete, and not accurate in some cases. This above link was only added to the Sox website around 1 month ago. Prior to that, there was no mention anywhere on the Sox website regarding over-the-air TV stations, located outside Chicago but within the White Sox exclusive broadcast territory. Also last season, there was no listing at all on the Sox website regarding what TV stations were airing the 25 WCIU-TV games outside Chicago. Not every TV station airs all 55 games. But I know what games are airing on each station respectively. For example, the first White Sox game airing on an Indianapolis TV station in many years was last Sunday. After Tribune Broadcasting announced that WGN America would no longer air any sports or news, some fans were concerned as to where they could receive the 55 over-the-air games. Especially fans located within the Sox territory, who are blacked out of MLB.tv or MLB Extra Innings. My information is also useful to fans who do not have cable or satellite TV. Just last month, I spoke to a fan at U.S. Cellular Field. He said that he could afford cable anymore, but he watches every Sox game available on free TV in HD. If anyone Googles 'white sox tv stations', as you suggest, you will find out that a complete summary all in one place does not exist except for right here. The best information that I could find on the internet is from WGN Sports. But the link also does not show what games each TV station will be airing. http://wgntvsales.com/Sports/White_Sox_Schedule.pdf .
  25. I don't like to pay to park either, so I look for open spots in Armour Square on any street north of 29th Street. Around 10 years ago, when the city started to have money problems (around the same time that red light cameras were installed in the city), the restricted parking zone around U.S. Cellular Field was greatly expanded. Parking is only allowed for residents between 29th Street and 35th Street (except for parts of 31st Street), so visitors can not park in that zone unless they have a pass. Visitors can not park on either side of 29th Street, but anywhere north of 29th Street is allowed. You can look for spaces on Wells, Princeton, or Shields (north-south streets), 27th or 28th (east-west streets). Just in case, check the signs for any parking restrictions. The neighborhood is Chinese / Italian / Croatian, so I think the area is fairly safe. This spring, the city began to re-pave some of the streets in Armour Square, so check for any additional construction restrictions, and watch out for fresh oil on the streets layed-down by construction workers. Parking is allowed for anyone on some parts of 31st Street. I think the south half of 31st Street in restricted, but the north half is open. Parking spaces in front of retail businesses on the north half of 31st Street have parking meters, but a few spaces in front of residential are totally free (on the north side of 31st). I do not recommend parking a new car on 31st because the street is a thoroughfare, but if you have a worn out car, the vehicle should be OK. My method is not for everyone because of the long distance. But if you don't mind the 8 block walk, walking is good exercise. I would rather spend the $20 on food or souvenirs. Remember to allow plenty of time when driving to a Sox game. If you are coming from the northwest suburbs, keep in mind that the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (Interstate 90, formerly the Northwest Tollway) is under construction. Plus, driving into the city on Interstate 90, traffic gets backed up around the River Road Toll Plaza where Interstate 190 (from O'Hare) merges into Interstate 90. And near downtown the 'spaghetti bowl' area where the Kennedy Expressway (Interstate 90 / 94) / Dan Ryan Expressway (Interstate 90 / 94) meets the Eisenhower Expressway (Interstate 290) is currently under construction. The name of the area is now 'Jane Byrne Interchange'. .
