  2. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 1, 2016 -> 11:55 PM) Lol of course Mason City, IA is missing. You might be able to receive the Cedar Rapids TV affiliate using a quality, roof mounted, long range VHF antenna pointed southeast to Walker, Iowa. That's the location of KCRG-TV's tower, halfway between Cedar Rapids and Waterloo, which is 1,880 feet tall. The distance from the center of Mason City to the tower is 91 miles. According to this website, you are at the fringe of the TV station's coverage area. http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&...;q=call=KCRG-TV Or you can start calling Channel 3 KIMT Mason City to request the station to carry White Sox & Cubs games. Is 'Comcast SportsNet Chicago' available on cable / dish at Mason City for the non-WGN telecasts? .
  3. http://wgntvsales.com/Sports/White_Sox_Schedule.pdf The WGN Sports, White Sox over-the-air television affiliates for the 2016 season apparently are complete, but 2 markets are missing which aired Sox games last season. Those are: Des Moines and Ft. Wayne. I really don’t understand what’s going on in Des Moines. Last season, 20 Sox games aired on Channel 23 KCWI-TV Ames (The CW). That same TV station only wants to air Cubs games in 2016. In 2014 and prior years, when just the WCIU-TV games were distributed outside Chicago, the package of 25 Sox games and 8 Cubs games aired on Channel 13-3 WHO-DT (Antenna TV). WHO-DT is owned by Tribune Broadcasting. If there are no takers at Des Moines, why can’t Tribune Broadcasting simply place all 55 Sox games on the TV station that Tribune already owns? Is that too difficult??? Tribune also owns the Quad Cities affiliate, WQAD-TV, which is showing all 55 Sox games in 2016. Ft. Wayne is a slightly different situation. The sub-channel that aired 46 Sox games last season, Channel 15-2 WANE-TV (Antenna TV) is dropping the network on June 30th, 2016. All of the big 4 network TV stations at Ft. Wayne are tied up with ownership changes or network affiliation swaps, but the Cubs still managed to get 37 of their 70 OTA games to air in that city. Sox are now gone from television, but there is a new radio affiliate near Ft. Wayne on FM airing all White Sox games: 106.7 WFGA Hicksville, OH / Ft. Wayne (ESPN Radio). http://www.espn1067.com/ Here are the 2016 over-the-air TV stations: Chicago Channel 9 WGN-TV Chicago (The CW) - 35 games + 1 pre-season Channel 50 WPWR-TV Gary (my network TV) - 20 games Rockford Channel 23-3 WIFR Freeport (Justice Network) - 55 games + 1 pre-season http://www.wifr.com/ http://media.graytvinc.com/documents/White...16+-+3-9-16.pdf Quad Cities Channel 8-3 WQAD-TV Moline (my network TV) - 55 games + 1 pre-season https://localtvwqad.files.wordpress.com/201...eball-on-tv.pdf Cedar Rapids / Waterloo / Iowa City Channel 9-2 KCRG-TV Cedar Rapids (my network TV) - 49 games + 1 pre-season Channel 9-3 (Antenna TV) - 6 games http://www.kcrg.com/content/sports/KCRG-TV...-369301281.html Peoria / Bloomington, IL Channel 59 WAOE Peoria (my network TV) - 47 games Not televised - 8 games due to conflicts with ABC7 Cubs telecasts http://my59.tv/programs/chicago-white-sox-on-my59/ http://my59.tv/documents/White_Sox_2016_Schedule.pdf Quincy / Hannibal Channel 10-2 WGEM-TV Quincy (The CW) - 3 games Springfield / Decatur / Champaign Channel 23 WBUI Decatur (The CW) - 10 games Not televised - 45 games for no apparent reason but the same TV station is airing all Cubs games produced by WGN Sports http://www.cw23tv.com/newsroom/sports/mlb/ South Bend Channel 69 WMYS-LD (my network TV) - 51 games Not televised - 4 games due to conflicts with ABC7 Cubs telecasts http://www.abc57.com/story/31405729/chicag...x-games-on-wmys Indianapolis Channel 23 WNDY-TV Marion, IN (my network TV) - 38 games + 1 pre-season Channel 8 WISH-TV Indianapolis (The CW) - 17 games (simulcast on Channel 23-3 WNDY-TV Marion and Channel 17-1 WIIH-CD Indianapolis) http://wishtv.com/2016/01/08/cubs-white-so...-games-in-2016/ Markets missing: Ft. Wayne (46 Sox games aired in 2015) Des Moines (20 games aired in 2015) Mason City, IA Sioux City, IA Ottumwa, IA Lafayette, IN (some Indianapolis TV stations available on cable/dish) Terre Haute, IN (some Indianapolis TV stations available on cable/dish) Racine / Kenosha, WI Southern Illinois Portions of Southern Indiana .
  4. The broadcast schedule for WISH-TV and WNDY-TV was recently made available: http://wishtv.com/2016/01/08/cubs-white-so...-games-in-2016/ 38 Sox games + 1 pre-season + 1 Crosstown with Cubs announcers will air on Channel 23 WNDY-TV Marion, IN (my network TV). And 17 games will air on Channel 8 WISH-TV Indianapolis (The CW). 13 of those 17 games are on Sunday afternoons, and 4 of the 17 are Saturday night games. WISH-TV is simulcast in HD on Channel 23-3 WNDY-TV, a UHF signal for the benefit of viewers who may have trouble receiving the primary VHF signal. .
  5. The South Bend TV station has changed it's mind again. No Sox games will be airing on Channel 25 WCWW-LD. Instead the 51 Sox telecasts will all air on Channel 69 WMYS-LD. http://www.abc57.com/story/31405729/chicag...x-games-on-wmys WGN Sox telecasts conflict 8 times with ABC7 Cubs telecasts. During 4 of those conflicts, the Cubs will air on Channel 25. During the other 4 conflicts, the Cubs will air on Channel 69, and 4 Sox games will not be airing in South Bend (as previously mentioned). http://www.abc57.com/story/31200212/chicag...-to-air-on-wmys 2 of the 70 Cubs telecasts are Crosstown games against the Sox. The dates for the 2 Crosstown games with Cubs announcers are: July 25 - Cubs at White Sox (produced by ABC7) July 27 - White Sox at Cubs (produced by WGN Sports) Therefore, the total amount of Sox games airing at South Bend is 53 games, and 4 Sox games will not be aired. .
  6. http://www.cw23tv.com/newsroom/sports/mlb/ This is crazy. Channel 23 WBUI Decatur (The CW), serving Springfield / Decatur / and Champaign, has announced that only 10 White Sox games (out of 55 games games produced by WGN Sports) will be airing in 2016. A decrease from 12 games which were aired last season. Furthermore, the same TV station announced that the complete package of 45 Cubs games produced by WGN will be airing on either the main channel 23-1 (The CW) or sub-channel 23-2 (this TV). An increase from 12 games in 2015, however most of the balance aired on another Decatur TV station Channel 17 WAND. Why can't WBUI air the missing 45 Sox games? Cubs fans get all 45 WGN Cubs games, but Sox fans are relegated to 10 games! For anyone located in the Central Illinois viewing area that wants to complain, here is the contact information: http://www.cw23tv.com/sections/station/index.shtml#feedback .
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 05:16 AM) 25 and 69 are nearly impossible to pick up over the air even near South Bend. '-LD' stands for 'Low-power Digital', but according to FCC reception maps, the stations' signals appear to be almost as good as the full power TV stations. Channel 69 WMYS-LD http://www.bing.com/maps/?mapurl=https://t...state=IN%26.kml Channel 25 WCWW-LD http://www.bing.com/maps/?mapurl=https://t...state=IN%26.kml .
  8. For the first Sox spring telecast on Comcast SportsNet this Friday, no commercials will be aired for the entire game. Instead, insight and interviews with Rick Hahn, Adam Eaton, Carlos Rodon, Daryl Boston, and Dioner Navarro will be shown between innings. The game is also Jason Benetti's first Sox game called on CSN Chicago (2nd Sox game overall). http://www.csnchicago.com/article/csn-carr...raining-games-0 Here is the broadcast information: Chicago Cubs at Chicago White Sox Stadium: Camelback Ranch-Glendale, Phoenix, AZ Game start time: 3:00 PM Central Daylight Time Radio: AM 890 WLS (White Sox broadcast), Announcers: Ed Farmer and Darrin Jackson No Cubs broadcast on radio Television: Comcast SportsNet Chicago (White Sox broadcast) Announcers: Steve Stone and Jason Benetti Re-air: 10:00 PM Central Daylight Time, CSN+ .
  9. The White Sox broadcast schedule at South Bend was revised yesterday to clarify the eight WGN Sox / ABC7 Cubs conflicts, however the news is not that good. 47 games - airing on Channel 69 WMYS-LD (my network TV) 4 games - airing on sister station Channel 25 WCWW-LD (The CW) 4 games - no television 2 games - Crosstown games with Cubs announcers airing on Channel 69 WMYS-LD (my network TV) http://www.abc57.com/story/31405729/chicag...x-games-on-wmys The 4 games airing on Channel 25 are: May 25 - Cleveland at Chicago May 28 - Chicago at Kansas City June 26 - Toronto at Chicago July 24 - Detroit at Chicago The 4 games which will not be televised in South Bend are: July 17 - Chicago at Los Angeles/Anaheim August 26 - Seattle at Chicago September 4 - Chicago at Minnesota September 18 - Chicago at Kansas City I don't know why these 4 games can not air because the company that owns the TV stations, Weigel Broadcasting owns 3 separate signals (8 sub-channels total) at South Bend where the games could possibly air. .
  10. New White Sox TV broadcaster Jason Benetti will make his Sox debut tomorrow afternoon from Arizona. Here is the broadcasting information: Chicago White Sox at Chicago Cubs Stadium: Sloan Park, Mesa, AZ Game start time: 2:00 PM Central Time / 3:00 PM Eastern Time * Radio: AM 890 WLS (White Sox broadcast), announcers: Ed Farmer and Darrin Jackson AM 670 WSCR 'The Score' (Cubs broadcast), announcers: Len Kasper/Pat Hughes? and Ron Coomer 5 over-the-air TV stations (White Sox broadcast): Announcers: Steve Stone and Jason Benetti Chicago WGN-TV, Channel 9 (The CW) Indianapolis WNDY-TV Marion, IN, Channel 23 (my network TV) * Rockford WIFR Freeport, Channel 23-3 (Justice Network) Quad Cities WQAD-TV Moline, Channel 8-3 (my network TV) Cedar Rapids / Waterloo / Iowa City KCRG-TV Cedar Rapids, Channel 9-2 (my network TV) Unconfirmed: Springfield / Decatur / Champaign WAND Decatur, Channel 17-2 (COZI TV) Danville W31BX-D (WAND translator), Channel 17-2 (COZI TV) Jacksonville, IL W40CV-D (WAND translator), Channel 17-2 (COZI TV) tvguide.com and zap2it.com list WAND as airing a Cubs Cactus League game. titantv.com does not. No information at the TV station's website. Last season WAND aired some Cubs games only, but the game tomorrow is actually a White Sox broadcast (at the Cubs Spring Training park). .
  11. This week Channel 69 WMYS-LD South Bend (my network TV) announced that all 55 White Sox games produced by WGN Sports will air in the 2016 season. But the same TV station is also airing 70 Cubs games (45 WGN + 25 ABC7). Eight of the ABC7 Cubs telecasts conflict with WGN White Sox games. No explanation was provided where / if those 8 games are going to air. http://www.abc57.com/story/31405729/chicag...x-games-on-wmys 2 of the Cubs telecasts are Crosstown games with Cubs announcers (1 WGN + 1 ABC7), therefore 57 total White Sox games may air in South Bend. http://www.abc57.com/story/31200212/chicag...-to-air-on-wmys Channel 69 is a change from last year in South Bend, when all 55 Sox games aired on a different station Channel 28-2 WSJV Elkhart (H&I Heroes & Icons). However, 69 'my Michiana' has carried the Sox prior to 2015 when just the WCIU games were distributed to local TV stations outside of Chicago (25 White Sox + 8 Cubs). Last year, for some reason Ken Harrelson couldn't receive the Sox telecasts on Channel 28-2 at his Granger, Indiana home when he was recovering from surgery. Hopefully that won't be a problem this season because Hawk will be watching 78 (out of 81) games from USCF on television at his home. .
  12. Today's White Sox-A's game is also available on the radio AM 890 WLS. .
  13. For anyone interested in watching this game, the 'Fox Sports West' telecast with Angels announcers is going to re-air nationwide on MLB Network tomorrow morning, March 8th at 8:00 AM Central. .
  14. The 2016 White Sox broadcast schedule was posted yesterday at the website for Channel 8-3 WQAD-TV Moline, Illinois. Again, the compete slate of 55 regular season games produced by WGN Sports are going to air. Also on the schedule, one pre-season game on March 12th which will be Jason Benetti's first game called for the Sox. http://www.mytv8-3.com/ http://www.mytv8-3.com/assets/white-sox-sc...016-mytv-83.pdf The same TV station is airing Cubs games produced by WGN Sports which includes 1 Crosstown game on July 27th. Therefore, the Sox will air 57 times for free in HD on Channel 8-3. http://www.mytv8-3.com/assets/cubs-schedule-2016-mytv-83.pdf .
  15. White Sox exhibition games begin tomorrow, Thursday, March 3rd, 2016 from Camelback Ranch. As usual for the opener, the Sox opponent is the L.A. Dodgers. According to the WLS website, the broadcast begins at 1:57 PM Central, and the first pitch happens at 2:05 PM Central. http://www.wlsam.com/white-sox And if you can't hear the game live, MLB Network will re-air the game on television on Thursday night at 9:00 PM Central (but with Dodgers announcers). I heard that longtime Dodger announcer Vin Scully is going to call 1 Cactus League game but tomorrow is not the one: http://m.mlb.com/network/shows/?id=mlbn_spring_training A complete lists of Sox Spring Training television and radio broadcasts is listed here (excluding 14 MLB Network airings): https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/692393704804478976 .
  16. I stand corrected because today the Peoria TV station released it's White Sox broadcast schedule, however 47 out of 55 Sox games will be aired on free television in 2016 (plus 2 more Crosstown games with Cubs announcers): http://my59.tv/programs/chicago-white-sox-on-my59/ The reason is that eight WGN Sox telecasts conflict with ABC7 Cubs telecasts, and WAOE has decided to air the Cubs games instead during conflicts. Last season, there were 4 conflicts, but the Sox WGN telecasts were prioritized over the Cubs. The missing 8 games are: May 25 - Cleveland at White Sox May 28 - White Sox at Kansas City June 26 - Toronto at White Sox July 17 - White Sox at Angels July 24 - Detroit at White Sox August 26 - Seattle at White Sox September 4 - White Sox at Minnesota September 18 - White Sox at Kansas City A possible solution could be to move the Sox games to sub-channel 59-2 (Antenna TV) during conflicts, but the station may not have ability / equipment to air games simultaneously. Peoria viewers who have decent antennas, should be able to receive the missing 8 Sox games on Quad Cities Channel 8-3 WQAD-TV Moline (my network TV), which transmits from a tower just 60 miles away at Orion, Illinois. The WAOE Cubs broadcast schedule was also released today, which confirms the 2 Crosstown games airing on July 25th and 27th with Cubs announcers: http://my59.tv/programs/cubs/ .
  17. I hope that WLS won't have the lame "interactive broadcasts" that were aired during Spring Training games the last several seasons on WSCR. Just give us the play-by-play of the entire game, and wait until after the game is finished to take phone calls or texts from listeners. Here are a couple of links to just the Sox 2016 Spring Training Broadcast Schedule that was released around 1 month ago: http://www.csnchicago.com/sites/csnchicago...astschedule.jpg or https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/692393704804478976 Not listed above are the Spring Training games involving the Sox that will be televised on MLB Network but with the Sox opponent's announcers. MLB Network is airing 14 White Sox Spring Training games, and 6 of those games are not airing on CSN or WGN. Here are the 6 games: March 3rd - White Sox at Dodgers - tape delay airing at 9:00 PM Central, March 3rd March 7th - White Sox at Angels - tape delay airing at 8:00 AM Central, March 8th March 10th - White Sox at Texas - tape delay airing at 2:00 AM Central, March 11th March 11th - White Sox at Padres - tape delay airing at 8:00 AM Central, March 12th March 16th - White Sox at Brewers - LIVE telecast 3:00 PM Central March 25th - White Sox at Mariners - tape delay airing at 8:00 AM, March 26th http://m.mlb.com/network/shows/?id=mlbn_spring_training .
  18. http://www.kcrg.com/content/sports/KCRG-TV...-369301281.html KCRG-TV Cedar Rapids (covering Cedar Rapids / Waterloo / Iowa City) announced today that all Sox games produced by WGN Sports will air again on free television for the 2016 season. 57 White Sox games will be telecast on 2 different sub-channels: Channel 9-2 (my network TV) - 52 games (50 games + 1 pre-season + 1 Crosstown with Cubs announcers) Channel 9-3 (Antenna TV) - 5 games KCRG-TV was sold late last year to a new owner (Gray Television bought the station from Cedar Rapids Gazette). The new company has decided to continue airing WGN Sox and Cubs telecasts, but I have noticed a few changes: - No Sox games airing this year on the primary channel 9-1 (ABC). Last season 5 Sox games were shown on the main channel. - The single pre-season Sox game produced by WGN Sports is airing. Previously this game was not included. - KCRG-TV apparently is not airing Cubs games produced by ABC7 (WLS-TV) in 2016. I suspect a new affiliate will be announced later for the 25 games, which includes 1 Crosstown games against the Sox on July 25th. .
  19. I found another picture at the NIU Football website: http://www.niuhuskies.com/sports/m-footbl/...ootbl-body.html
  20. The Sox facebook site has 2 illustrations of the football field layout at USCF. The field will go in a north-south direction parallel to the 1st base line, so I think the best seats will be in the upper deck along the 1st base line. https://www.facebook.com/WhiteSox/photos/a....e=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/WhiteSox/photos/pc...e=3&theater Does anybody know what direction the football field went when the Chicago Cardinals played at Comiskey Park? Was the field parallel to the 3rd base line / Shields Avenue, or was the field parallel to the 1st base line / 35th Street? .
  21. Last September, Sun-Times writer Michael Sneed wrote that a NIU football game would be played in 2016: http://chicago.suntimes.com/news/7/71/9873...-cell-next-year But the NIU Athletic Director denied Michael Sneed's story at the time: http://www.daily-chronicle.com/2015/09/25/...-field/ao5jo3s/ Apparently he was wrong because today (February 16th) Crain's Chicago Business wrote that a NIU football game will happen at USCF, and the details will be announced tomorrow at an event: http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/201...at-u-s-cellular I bet Roger Bossard is happy that the football game will be scheduled after the baseball postseason is over. .
  22. Channel 23-3 WIFR Freeport / Rockford will be airing all 55 White Sox games and 1 pre-season game produced by WGN Sports. Channel 23-3 is an affiliate of a new network named 'Justice Network' which is not available in Chicago yet. http://www.wifr.com/ (banner at middle, right side of screen) http://media.graytvinc.com/documents/White...hedule+2016.pdf In recent years, the Rockford affiliate for Sox telecasts seems to change each season: 2016: Channel 23-3 WIFR (Justice TV) 55 games + 1 pre-season 2015: Channel 13-3 WREX (Me TV) 55 games 2014: Channel 17-2 WTVO (my network TV) 25 games 2013: Channel 17-2 WTVO (my network TV) 25 games 2012: Channel 23-2 WIFR (AccuWeather '23 Weather Now') 6 games in September and October Today WGN Sports released their 2016 Sox broadcast schedule. A change I noticed this season is that the 1 pre-season game against the Cubs with Sox announcers is also airing on TV stations outside Chicago: http://wgntvsales.com/Sports/White_Sox_Schedule.pdf http://wgntv.com/2016/02/16/wgn-tv-announc...dcast-schedule/ .
  23. How about Beggar's Pizza? I had never tried their pizza because Beggar's does not have any stores in the north suburbs where I'm located, but I was very impressed when I bought a couple slices at USCF last season. .
  24. Channel 59 WAOE Peoria / Bloomington, IL (my59) again will be airing Sox games this season in HD on free television. The announcement was made a few days ago at the station's facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/WAOEMy59 The amount of games airing and "the broadcast schedule will be shared ASAP", but I suspect all 55 WGN Sports-produced Sox games will air. Additionally, 2 Crosstown games with Cubs announcers (not included in the 55) likely will air: July 25th, Cubs at Sox, produced by ABC7 (WLS-TV) July 27th, Sox at Cubs, produced by WGN Sports (WGN-TV)
