Two Crosstown games with Cubs announcers on July 24th and 26th (produced / distributed by WLS-TV in Chicago) are airing on some of the TV stations listed above, but at some areas the station is different. Once again, Sox games are not airing at Des Moines and Ft. Wayne, two cities which had some Sox games on local TV in 2015. There really is no excuse for games not showing at Des Moines because Tribune Broadcasting (the owner of WGN-TV) also owns a TV station at Des Moines: Channel 13 WHO-DT (NBC / weather / Antenna TV / this TV). How difficult is it for WGN to simply mandate that all Sox games air on a sub-channel of a TV station the company already owns? By the way, Chicago's N.L. team has new TV affiliates airing partial schedules at Sioux City, Lafayette, and Terre Haute. I guess they don't like the Chicago White Sox .

For anyone who may be interested, the Chicago Tribune on Sunday, April 2nd inserted a special 'Baseball 2017' magazine. The 48 page magazine has dual front covers: Tim Anderson on the back, and Addison Russell on the front. I believe the magazine went to Chicago Tribune subscribers only, and was not included with newsstand editions. .

I've attended Sox exhibition games at Miller Park from every series (but not every game). I went to Milwaukee for exhibition games in 2001 (the grand opening of Miller Park), 2002, 2005, and 2013. Nice place to visit. But if you go, my suggestion is to dress warmly. Inside Miller Park, temperatures can get very cold during late March and early April even though the place has a roof. And the closer you sit near the field, the colder you are. Reason is that the heat vents are located higher up at the balcony sections. .

The article doesn't say Ken is stepping down. It says that he is "cutting back". In 2018 I would like to see Hawk call a partial schedule of home games instead of all road games. Even though he lives near South Bend, Indiana, I would think the logistics are easier for Hawk to travel to Guaranteed Rate Field. And if he works 2 consecutive home games, he should get an apartment in the city. Spending a night closer to the park, beats making a round trip to Grainger, Indiana and back. .

I don't see anywhere in the article indicating that Budweiser will be served at the park or involved with sponsorship. "The Sox team begin the 2017 season without a single official domestic beer partner". Something else to consider is that Miller products (Lite, Leinenkugel, Redd's, Smith & Forge, Henry's, etc.) were huge advertisers on Sox television and radio broadcasts. Hopefully WGN-TV and WLS Radio will find replacements. So far this season I have not heard any beverage advertisers on WLS spring training radio broadcasts. Goose Island is part of Budweiser. I don't think Goose Island will be served at the park unless other Bud products come on board. Perhaps the Sox could hand out a Modelo beer vendor bobblehead to fans over 21 entering the park in the 2017 season, LOL! .

Also, in Chicago WPWR-TV Gary is no longer airing any Sox games. Those 20 telecasts have moved to WGN-TV, therefore all 56 WGN produced Sox games will air on 1 TV station. This change actually went into effect on September 1st last year when WGN-TV dropped affiliation with The CW network and became Independent. Nice to see that the single pre-season telecast from WGN Sports takes place at Camelback Ranch instead of the Cubs facility! If anyone knows about any other TV stations airing games in 2017, please let me know. .

. As far as I know, CSN Chicago is available in your area on both Direct TV or Dish Network, but not on your local cable company. Therefore, when you pay for the package (on one of the 2 dish services) that includes CSN Chicago, you should be able to get the streaming. Brian, "buffet style" or a-la-carte is not going to happen. Where do you think Jerry gets a large portion of money to pay for free agents? From every cable / satellite customer that receives CSN Chicago no matter if they watch any sports, or like the Sox, or not. Slightly related, I recently learned of a new provider that that offers CSN Chicago and CSN Chicago+ to customers in some areas. The name is Playstation Vue. I am not an expert, but apparently internet service and a streaming player (Roku, Apple TV, etc.) is required to connect to your television. Also, local free over-the-air broadcast channels are not included, so an antenna is needed to receive the stations. However, the cost for Playstation Vue seems to be cheaper than cable or satellite.
