Teams have upped their offers in Q derby in the last week
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jan 23, 2017 -> 03:00 PM) Massive flaw might be exaggerated, but a 5.2 BB/9 in AAA this season is concerning moving forward You simply cannot walk that many batters and expect to have consistent success at the mlb level where the hitters are even more patient. I'm not saying he does not deserve to be a top 25 prospect, he does based on stuff and talent. What is he, 22? Rodon walked 4.6 in 2015.

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jan 23, 2017 -> 02:02 PM) Itd be a solid deal if we hadn't just acquired 4 legit pithing prospects in our last 2 deals. We need bats. Meadows + Glasnow or Keller + Newman + Diaz is much better move for the Sox. Who cares about bats right now? We have the draft and an excess of pitching prospects to acquire bats. We also have 3 high draft picks before our competitive window and free agency to help out. Giolito Glasnow Kopech Lopez Keller Fulmer Hansen Burdi Rodon Jones Dunning Find who is expendable and get those bats.

Dont know if this got lost in the discussion but that Rumbunter guy tweeted that Hahn turned down a "hefty" deal from the Pirates. Hinted its Glasnow, Keller, Newman, and Diaz.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 22, 2017 -> 08:46 PM) Posturing. As opposed to Michael Jordan's forte against defenders at the rim. Haha nice, I knew better

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jan 22, 2017 -> 08:34 PM) http://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/ast...twitter-premium Astros trade for frontline starter looking less likely Actually dont believe its postering anymore. I think Luhnow is this delusional like his fanbase.

QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jan 21, 2017 -> 08:19 PM) Control issues are the thing the White Sox are best at fixing. If another team is undervaluing a pitcher because of control issues, that's EXACTLY the player the White Sox should target. Pirates might have the best pitching coaches in the game.

Yordano Ventura, Andy Marte both killed in separate car accidents
Not to turn this political or anything but someone needs to educate the young Latin players on being safe. I know its hard to expect maturity out of early twenty year olds but this is getting ridiculous. How? No idea but I am tired and sad of hearing about these young kids getting killed because of drugs and recklessness. I don't blame these guys since they probably came from nothing and have the world by the balls now. I did some really stupid stuff when I was in my early twenties. Still, how many more deaths will happen before solutions will be discussed? I never liked Ventura but this is depressing. My Royals friends are besides themselves right now

I would get so much satisfaction from the Astros rotation completely blowing it next season.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 19, 2017 -> 03:07 PM) This thought process is odd. The 2 seamer has more movement and is more difficult to control than in 4 seasmer, in general. Teams usually take away the 2 seamer from pitchers with poor control. Maybe he is just more comfortable with the 2 seamer and it will help, but the thought process is backwards. Thats what they do though. They did the same thing with Morton in 2013. Worked very well

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 18, 2017 -> 05:14 PM) Without Q, we are looking at a rotation of: Rodon Shields Gonzalez (maybe he can get flipped mid-season) Holland One of Covey, Beck, or other Starting lineup would be: C Narvaez, Soto 1B Abreu (could be traded but seems unlikely) 2B Lawrie, Moncada second half unless he is doing terrible at AAA 3B Frazier (could be traded mid-season) SS Anderson LF Melky (could be traded mid-season) CF Tilson, Liriano RF Garcia, Liriano DH Davidson? Garcia or probably more likely a late MLB signing (Carter, Lind, Alvarez) Still looks so much better than SD!!!

Teams have upped their offers in Q derby in the last week
Has it been discussed that it is possible Hahn has received an offer he is willing to accept but he just wants to wait out the offseason to see if anyone can match or beat the offer?

QUOTE (Dunt @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 08:53 AM) Same velocity, Q walks less and strikes out more, better career FIP, and longer control (I believe). To prefer Gray over Quintana is to simply not want to give up the farm. Thing is, A's arent going to take less than Gray's value and now wouldn't be a good time to trade him. They would be sending good prospects to a division rival on top of it all. When he is on top of his game he is one of the best but he was injured a lot last year.

Astros fans on Twitter are actually saying they would rather send their top prospects for Sonny Gray... What in the hell is wrong with them?

Teams have upped their offers in Q derby in the last week
QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 01:10 PM) Would two competitive teams in the same division really be trading with each other? Man, the Sox must be asking a whole lot from the Stro's to be pushed to trade with the A's who would also be asking for a whole lot for an oft injured suckier pitcher. I just dont understand how this makes any sense for that reason alone.

QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 10:39 AM) There was a point that Levine said all other 29 teams had conversations with the Sox about Q. LOL He always has to leave the door open to be wrong and still right at the same time. My source also confirms this information.
