  1. QUOTE (shipps @ Feb 1, 2017 -> 04:48 PM) If they are leveraging Houston they should have used the Pirates whom they have actually had some reportedly serious discussions with. Houston isn't in the NL Central anymore
  2. We know that Tampa was interested in Profar last week. Could this be part of a three team deal assuming it isn't just leveraging for Houston? What deal makes sense for all teams?
  3. If you love this kind of stuff you should be doing an online OOTP league..
  4. Maybe thread should be closed until theres some significant news
  5. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 31, 2017 -> 04:09 PM) You know what, you're exactly right. I don't think the Sox are that far away from competing, but they need another ace and a solid outfielder to replace Avi. Moncada, Kopech, Basabe, and Diaz for Chris Sale and Giolito, Lopez, and Dunning for Adam Eaton could get the Sox back in contention. What do you think? Absolutely not. Sale commands more trade value than that. Replace Diaz woth Devers and that maybe starts some dialogue. Also we arent going to trade Eaton.. LOL GET REAL
  6. I will be happy if he becomes a 3-4 WAR as long as Kopech reaches his ceiling and one of Basabe or Diaz becomes an above average player.
  7. With Robin out of the picture I would say Robertson would be better managed hopefully. I would be fine with allowing him to pitch to his capabilities and raise his trade value for the deadline or next offseason.
  8. Easy to pick benintendi considering hes prqctically a major leaguer right now
  9. 81. Collins 71. Fulmer 46. Lopez 16. Kopech 12. Giolito 2. Moncada
  10. My god Boston had a monster system before they traded most of their prospects away
  11. Brian Bilek‏ @BrianBilek_ "We had a deal fall apart on Christmas Eve." - Hahn kicking off the Saturday Q&A Must be the 3 way trade we heard about. Damn shame
  12. There has to be abother reason. I just cant see this as a trade. On the other hand they have to know this is going to raise many eyebrows. So why is he not there?

  14. QUOTE (FT35 @ Jan 27, 2017 -> 10:33 AM) I can see this...I'm not the biggest Glasnow fan. I know pitchers grow and develop, but his control issues are real. A lot of Pirates fans agree and say his MiLB numbers are a better pitcher than he is. He's got good stuff, but it's my assumption (based on NOTHING of substance), that if Hahn is looking at Glasnow, it's as a 2nd name instead of the headliner. And I think the Sox as a whole might like Keller better. I believe if they liked Glasnow a ton, a deal would have been made by now. I completely agree that Glasnow would be an underwhelming headliner. I would be happy to have him as a second piece. For whatever reason I am optimistic that he can get that walk rate down. He is only 22 and completely dominated the minors. Although Rodon was in the majors as a 22 year old he had a walk/9 of 4.6. He cut that down to 2.9 with some of the worst pitch framing in the game. With some maturity and coaching I can see the same for Glasnow just based on gut feeling (or false hope). Again, I agree there is too much risk for him being a headliner.
  15. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 02:56 PM) And Rodon. I am expecting a huge season for him but I said the same last season, so..
  16. Wish I had stats on how many times I clicked and refreshed the Q threads this winter.
  17. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 25, 2017 -> 10:00 AM) This party is dead, man. The trade isn't dead but its hurting bad so we need to have a discussion about bringing it out back and shooting it.
  18. QUOTE (GermanSock @ Jan 25, 2017 -> 07:34 AM) Hey guys, I'm new here, guy from germany who follows the sox. Welcome, friend!
  19. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jan 24, 2017 -> 01:06 PM) Dave Cameron of Fangraphs explains why Glasnow is not good enough to be the main headliner in a Quintana deal here Dave Cameron also stated that Quintana would be a minor inprovement to the Astros rotation.
  20. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jan 24, 2017 -> 11:41 AM) I would take that deal. Depending on who is doing the evaluation, Glasnow's stock has taken quite a bit of a hit as he has not been able to develop command of the strike zone. Giolito has the same concerns which caused him to slip from being the #1 pitching prospect in baseball. Keller has #2 or three upside and has just started blowing up a lot safer bet than Glasnow to make it as a starter. Rodon had a 4.6 BB/9 as a 22 year old.
