7/19 Games
Watching him pitch is painful. My son and I watched a game before the injury and he is tough to watch with his throwing motion. He can't pitch 5 innings and he walks everyone so he's a terrible RP option. Cut your losses and get something. Maybe try to get another struggling first round pick from another organization.

Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
How much value does a Boston Smith have? He's playing great and if you could unload him for s backend SP then you basically traded Curtis Mead for a SP. Mead is having a great year but if he were here he wouldn't be playing much. Trade worked for both teams. I would think he would be desirable as a guy who could catch and play the outfield and you would be selling high on him. Carlson is a guy I would hate to lose but he's blocked for years at SS. The thing about detmers is he isn't much better than Kay honestly. But younger with control.

Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
There really are no dominant teams in the AL. You have to get 1 more pitcher but can't break the bank. I would love detmers but can't overpay.

Official 2026 MLB Draft Thread - Picks & Discussion
A guy i had the pleasure to watch pitch this year I would love to see is draft. Transferred to ECU this year and only started about 5 games before injury and getting i think the bracing surgery. 6-7 240lbs. Always had talent but didn't flourish until this year when he got to ECU who produces good pitchers. 6 mlb pitchers now. Throws a wicked splitter a bit like they taught yesavage. Wouldn't cost much as he is a senior. Lol at the numbers this year with that size. He was dominating. Was better than norby who went in the 4th. Because he had injury early he will be back in spring. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=vankem000gav

No doubt we will take a pitcher at 34 or 41. Might be some good ones to choose from

Gonzo & Eisert Traded to Pirates for Comp Pick and Jaden Woods
Yep. Just looked at that draft and Smith is by far the worst top 10 pick that year. We passed on wetherholt and griffin. Even condon who had struggled is raking and should be up any day

Gonzo & Eisert Traded to Pirates for Comp Pick and Jaden Woods
The positive is eisert is about to be 29 and is a -.2 WAR this year and really shouldn't be on a ML roster. So we traded a guy who had no position to play in the team who would be a backup for the#34 pick and a RP who is young with upside. And this also makes the draft fun as hell

Woods obviously isn't ML level ready. So now we need another ML RP. It could play if in the long run. Maybe there was little market for Jacob G. Trade makes us worse right now.

And that is a better then .500 road trip White Sox winner!
It's crazy how in the moment people emotionally react. Grant Taylor gets a 1,2,3 save and he is the second coming of Mariano Rivera. Next night he walks 2 and let's up a run and those same posters start saying hehe just doesn't have it, not closer material, hope he can stick as a middle reliever.

Give credit to Getz. Newcomb, Grichuk, Peters, Vargas, Mune, Chase, Kay, Hudson have all been brought here by him and have all been positives. A few sis for sure but overall the last 2 years have had some good moves by Getz.

7/4 GT - White Sox @ Guardians (6:10pm CST)
Eisert has strung together 7.2 innings 2 runs, 3 his, 11 Ks, 0 BBs over 6 games. Only 1 walk in his last 17 appearances. Well done.

No walks tonight=1 run vs this team.

Anyone got a good feeling about this? Odds are it's a 1 run guardians win.

Is soccer replacing all the US major sports (except NFL) in popularity?)
That's why is is an opinion, just like what you posted. In 20 years it will still be easy being the big 3 sports in America. Kids play it but the best athletes play other sports as they get older and that will continue in America.

We heard all this same stuff in 1992 when the US hosted it and then still nobody cared until 30+ years later. It's a nice story for a couple months. There is nothing more boring than a soccer game in my opinion. The average soccer game scores like 3 goals in 90+ minutes. Imagine if basketball had no shot clock today and every team ran a 4 corners offense and took a shot every 10 minutes. That's soccer. It's popular amongst young kids because any uncoordinated kid who can run can be on the team and not look completely terrible, he can blend in. And then they get a participation trophy.

I hate the shift. Especially if you throw an outside pitch
