White Sox projected lineup announced MLB.com
The Sox have been petitioning the league to allow them to be able to play 5 IF and 4 OF players, a pitcher and catcher at the same time. The rationale is to help with competitive balance.

Vaughn and Sox avoid arbitration: $5.85 million
It's ok. We can flip him at the deadline for a prospect if he has a good year. Lol
-
Omar narvaez is back to frame stuff
You know it's a bad signing when none even mentions flipping him for a lottery ticket later this year

White Sox agree to 1 year deal with INF Josh Rojas
I actually think this is one of our better signings. Context does matter here. But it is way better than Nicky Lopez in my opinion. At least he has a little pop, a HR every 60ABs. Nicky had 1 every 300ABs. Can steal a few bases. He is not the worst backup out there. And you can use the usual line we do for all our signings, "If he pans out we can flip him for a low level prospect at the deadline." 😐

Vargas and Fletcher have to play . . . be given every chance to succeed . . . Right?
Si glad we handpicked Fletcher over Mccarthy and his 1.7 WAR.

Corbin Burnes signs with D-backs
Would be great if we still had fedde instead of giving him to the cards for nothing

Sox Sign Bryse Wilson
To be fair most of the 15 million went to his defense attorneys

Mike Tauchman to White Sox
World series here we come. 34 years old. Would have been one of our better hitters last year at. 248

Sox trying to fix Vargas
Every year teams continue to dump failed prospects on us. Rutherford, Eder, Vargas. Outside of Qero have we really done well in a trade the last 5 years.

9/11 Game Thread
Huge props to fletcher and julks. Only 2 that played the whole game that didn't strike out at least 2x. Game ball to them

Sox trying to fix Vargas
Improved today. 0-4 but only 2Ks. 8 Ks in last 15 ABs. Team has struck out 16x today through 8 innings.

Sox trying to fix Vargas
The fixing is going well. 0-3 with 3Ks

Sox trying to fix Vargas
Meanwhile Marlins got Norby for a bum SP. Has 2 more HRs today. Another yesterday. 8 in 100 ABs. Hitting .330 for marlins. Good job Getz. I wanted him so bad.
-
Sox trying to fix Vargas
Meanwhile Connor Norby could have easily been gotten for Fedde. A lot of people discounted him on here as a low tier prospect. He is only hitting .320 for the marlins with 3 HRs and a marlins record 9 xbh in his first 12 games. I honestly think I am a better GM than Getz.

Jake Burger trade
It's about time to acknowledge Eder is not a SP. Make the transition to RP and hope for the best. Just an awful trade overall. Hopefully we can salvage something.

Latest rebuild fixes won't come quick...
Of course not, Jerry said it's not a rebuild.

August 14 Game Thread, White Sox vs Yankees
Davis Martin has been at least one bright spot coming back from injury. He might stick in the rotation next year. Next year's staff might be serviceable at least. Crochet, Thorpe, Cannon, Martin all appear to competent major league pitchers so far and all are young with lots of control. Imagine if games were only 6 innings long, we might have won 60 games this eyar.

Jake Burger trade
I am looking over Fletcher and Mccarthy and cant understand why we would pick DF. Mccarthy had performed much better, was the same age, has a lot of speed that Fletcher doesnt have. Tore up AAA and did well in the majors so far. So why choose Fletcher. Just another bad move. They need to do the George Costanza approach and do the opposite of whatever they are thinking in the future.

Jake Burger trade
Lost in the fact is that Burger was injured, And not just a tweaked hamstring or anything. It was a intercostal injury which is in the muscles in his ribs. Not a good injury for a power hitter. You think maybe that was why he struggled. Now you want to discount what he has done when healthy after the break. Should we discount what he did after the trade deadline last year in 53 games with a .303 average, 9 hrs and a 850 OPS. When healthy he produces . I will take 3.1 offensive WAR for a DH for 750K, at least hold onto him until he has 2 years left and he is putting up 35 HRs per year. You might get something better than a bad minor league pitcher.

Aaron Judge on the 2024 white sox doesnt change the outcome of the season one bit either.
