  1. GM called in sick today
  2. He's been unhittable the last 1.5 months
  3. Bart is at about 55% ABS challenge %, Romo at mid 40%, quero 46% so that may be an improvement. Teel is 39%
  4. I think we are better. Castillo is better than our 4/5 pitchers, we got a better RP than Seranthony, and we got a better catcher than Romo. Doyle has upside and is more proven than Periera. Is it massively better, no. But its better and we lost nothing of substantial value. The sox shouldnt be in complete go for it mode at this point. If Castillo reverts to his form of the last 5 years than this team is good enough to make a run in the playoffs.
  5. We gave up next to nothing to get Bart. He is hitting .226 and has a positive WAR. .680 OPS. Romo is at -.6 WAR hitting .134 and has a .500 OPS. This is an upgrade. He is a positive defensive WAR too. Romo makes Bart look like Ivan Rodriguez, he never needs to get a Major league at bat with the white sox again. Just land a SP and this was a great trade deadline. But dont go do a massive overpay. We got a SP, solid RP, a backup catcher and didnt break the bank in any way.
  6. That would be Carlson plus what? He has struggled this year but worth the risk and you have 2 more years at 15 and 16 million the next 2 years.
  7. I wonder what the reaction would be if the Sox had traded for Luis Robert.
  8. If this trade is made last year I think all would be on board. He has been hurt, he is cheap, plays great defense, has speed, has options. This doesnt hurt the team and there is upside. How many of us thought Tristan Peters, Hudson, Richards, or a lot of guys would amount to much of anything. I can't believe I am saying this but I think Getz and company have earned a little benefit of the doubt. If he is terrible then it only hurts if Mason Adams or the other guy become legit MLB players. This wont make or break the season, we can be more critical of the SP and catcher trades which hopefully happen. Lets wait and see what occurs there.
  9. In no world should we trade bonemer
  10. Sure are a lot of guys that are expected to move by the deadline in 18 hours. It could really be a buyers market for rentals. Didn't love the Castillo deal but we only gave up money and honestly I'm glad we are spending something now. Have a feeling it's going to be a wild entertaining Monday
  11. For a team that needs pitching its a good sign we will have just thrown 26 innings 2 earned runs against the top AL team. If we don't let them score in the 9th.
  12. Nice job. Give him 1 more inning
  13. Gavin Williams is just mowing them down. 5.2 innings 10ks. No walks. 1 hit. 55 ks last 5 games. Hopefully we miss him in our series
  14. Kay at 63 pitches. Might get 7 out of him
  15. I am reminded of a a couple of pitchers we got right before the 2006 year. Freddy Garcia from the Mariners. Solid pitcher but not great. Castillo with way better resume'. Jose Contreras coming off some rough years with the Yankees at 32 years old. Who would have thought they would pitch 30+ games and win a world series.
  16. So basically he is untouchable
  17. Bonemer should only be included in a skubal trade.
  18. I wonder if the Jays would give away jeff hoffman if we picked up a decent amount of salary. He was awful early in the year but his last 20 appearances he has let up a total of 11 hits in 19 innings with 27Ks and only earned runs in 1 appearance. ErA from 6.31 to 4.0
  19. That's 1 Earned Run in the last 24 innings for this staff against the top 2 AL teams
  20. Schweitzer becoming a nice option out of the pen. 2.91 ERA
  21. Schweitzer throwing strikes. Love it. Last 8 games 19 innings 3 runs,15 hits, 5 BBs
