I remember he was valuable because he was an established bullpen arm who still had years of control....now it's like, crap how long are we stuck with this guy? Even DFAs don't work...he is the very definition of a bad penny.
Was Robert playing better because he was motivated to get traded? I am interested to see how he finishes the season. His defense is still stellar and fun to watch.
What if Robert finishes up strong, the Sox pick up his option and trade him with cash to pay a good chunk of his 2026 salary....what would a full year of a reduced price, healthy Robert be on the off season market?
Houser really has to be like "what they hell does a guy have to do to get traded"
He has been really good but no market??
I guess Getzy will just get what he can this afternoon
I'm very jealous of that Padres farm system....every year they have guys valuable enough to trade and somehow they just keep restocking to do it all again next season.
I couldn't stand the guy....to me he was just a mope all season because he didn't want to be here. One of the reasons I don't mind Benintendi is because I hated Pollock so much.
Steve Stone mentioned how versatile he was and the Sox had options going into next year....I took that to mean that they might look into stretching him out to start.
