Sox vs Tigers. 9/13 - 1:10
For those who didn't read the 670 interview with Rick Hahn,I would encourage you to do so. Apparently Ricky is here to stay, and Hahn and JR had a discussion about what our offense could do against the Indians, whose pitchers have our number. They discussed how the offense can get better. This is why I think Jerry will spend more money this offseason to fill any gaps. He is highly motivated to win a few ships before it's to late.

Come on Nomar. Ding it up!

Bummer/ Gonzales/Rodon
Yep. Test Rodon out in the pen and if he excels this and next year, keep him. We got 8 years to get down and it will be expensive, but let's get down.

There can only be one.

#3 Starter for Playoffs
I mean start next seasom as when he comes up. My order is also based on that moment's talent expectation, not the actual rotation order.

#3 Starter for Playoffs
Kopech needs to start next season as our number 5. That would mean we are probably AL favorites. Bauer, Elite-O, DK, Dunning/Cease, Kopech.

#3 Starter for Playoffs
Yeah but Gio also misses the strike zone periodically and gets rattled. When he strikes guys out chances are he won't go more than 6 either. I think the best chance we have against Houston, Yankees, or Twins is to use our ground ball consistent pitcher game 1. Gio is an outstanding talent and has done a great job, but i think he would do wonders as our game 2 guy.

#3 Starter for Playoffs
I think both have been dominant for the most part. But Gio is most like to meltdown in the first inning taking you out of a game. He also needs James to catch for him apparently, so anything goes off schedule and may get smoked. DK also has post season experience and rarely losses focus and command. Remember, the beloved Mark B had to take a back seat to Contreras. Hell, Giolito may end next season as our number 3 if we sign Bauer. Which would be a great thing for this team.

#3 Starter for Playoffs
1. DK 2. Giolito 3. Dunning until he sucks then Gio G 4. Cease until he sucks and then Rodon I'd start DK game 1 as he has been our most consistent pitcher and isn't likely to have a game 1 or game 7 meltdown in the first inning.

Nope. Let him pitch since the bullpen has been bad too. It is whatbit is.

Sox playoff chances sit at 100%, 3rd in AL for WS odds
Exactly. But it is what it is, the Cubs are winning that sorry division anyway.

Cleveland again just lost 3 to the Royals in a row. I would rather them face the Tigers than the Brewers and Cardinals at this point.

Cleveland lost 3 in a row to KC. I'm not ready to crown them yet. Also, what do you all think the higher seeds should get to replace the lost HFA in the divisional series and ALCS? I was thinking a good home field advantage replacement could be the scheduled home teams wins a tie game after 10 innings.

The Final 17 - Guess the W/L
I'd go 10 and 7 give or take rest.

KC won 5 games against Cleveland and Minnesota, thanks.

We sweep Detroit. Cleveland takes two out of three. That puts us 3 up on Minny and 2.5 up on Cleveland.

You have to start McCann for now
What is working is playing both right now. I agree with that and EE should be more of the odd man out. Moving forward though I'm rolling with Grandal.

The Orioles are on pace to win 29. Also, if we go 0-17, Detroit gets 3 more wins this weekend and are now 22-22, and on pace for 30.

McCann has looked better for the most part but Grandal is a top 5 catcher and it is a SSS. McCann scared us a bit last year when he fell of that cliff for a while. He may be better suited for limited duty and light wear and tear. Baseball is about the long haul, and over the long haul I'm rolling with Grandal.

White Sox @ Pirates. 9/9 - 6:05
Every team in every sport has threads that complain. And I'm not sure the majority wanted to cut Anderson or Moncada. People had doubts but I wouldn't go that far. Abreu is a different story though. He was two games a away from being a banned word here.

2021 Offseason Prediction: Who We Lose and What Will Be Our Needs?
My order of needs 1. Bauer 2. Competent RF 3. Super subs that keeps us injury proof, have speed, and play D. We may have a few already, but we will see. 4. Closer 5. Game plan on keeping all of core guys together through 2027. Have a plan for 2023 and 2024 early. Payroll must grow bigger to have a legit shot at 2 or 3 championships, which would be a huge turning point for the White Sox historically. Time to change the game and the brand.

Checkmate. Lower level aggressiveness is fine, but don't run through stop signs with one out and big hitters coming up. He has to understand it is okay to let Timmy, Yoan, and Abreu drive you in.

Completely agree. But hopefully he gets it out of his system now as a rookie. Come playoffs and moving forward, I expect to see a higher IQ on the basepaths and cleaner defense. If he keeps hitting the way he is, I'm okay with limited power as well. Nothing like a 9 hitter that can get you big hits and make the pitcher really worker to turn over the lineup.
