Eloy officially got paid
What if this scout would have said he didn't like Robert? His opinion would be disregarded.

Giolito/Cease
I can't help but wonder if we should have traded him for Machado. I was all in on a package involved Lucas to ensure we could keep Machado here long term. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't think he is gonna be anything more than a journeyman.

Eloy officially got paid
I give them credit but they still suck. This makes the Machado situation worse as we would have been in a great spot to keep Moncado, Machado, Robert, and Eloy for 8 to 10 years.

Eloy officially got paid
The players who don't come up this year? Or next year? They may reference how you need to sign an extension to get your rightful call up. It's not a certainty but it is something to think about.

Eloy officially got paid
Yeah but the courts may now have something to work with.

Eloy officially got paid
This actually isn't smart. It will show that teams only do that for the service time, even though we already know it.

Trout about to sign 12/430 deal
He will get paid like Harper for being a good offensive player with no defense.

Personal opinions on Sox rebuild pieces.
Our pitching is overrated and MLB.com agrees, as they have us as the 18th rated pitching system. We are boom or bust. The good news is that we can trade our surplus outfielders and DH types for pitching down the line.

3/3 vs Cubs, 2pm
I agree. But we usually sign guys like Contreras, Vasquez, Garcia, etc, and not the young elite talent. I think we will spend the money, but not on long term deals for elite talent. Our FO will protect itself with a 3 year deal.

3/3 vs Cubs, 2pm
Yeah I'll believe it when I see it. I have no doubt we will add an older vet we hope performs beyond our wildest dreams.

3/3 vs Cubs, 2pm
Yeah Rodon is our ace and a guy we are concerned about keeping. Most good teams view him as a 3 or 4. This staff is ass in a hand basket.

KW: "It's a shame" the Sox are being portrayed as cheap
The Padres also sold 1.5 million dollars worth of tickets I read. Imagine if we would have opened the book and signed one of these guys in January.

KW: "It's a shame" the Sox are being portrayed as cheap
I was thinking this same thing. If we can't sign two Hall of Famers to fair market deals with a weak market, can we sign our own guys if they warrant it? If Moncada turns into prime Cano he will want 375 million by the time his contract is up. Would we be willing to set the market and pay him? What if the Dodgers and Yankees come across money and push it to 400 million?

KW: "It's a shame" the Sox are being portrayed as cheap
I'm calling out all these Sox fans talking about it's not a failure because they are glad we didn't get either player. A player may not be worth the full contract, but their signing is still very important to certain teams that lack credibility. The bottom line is this team told us they would put forth the effort and that money would be there. They wanted Machado and failed. I didn't like Carmelo Anthony years ago because he is overrated, but I wanted the Bulls to sign him because that would have given us credibility in the league while being great for that team and fans.

KW: "It's a shame" the Sox are being portrayed as cheap
They've been thinking about this every day since last June? No one feels what they feel? Continue the pitch forks Sox fans. We need to make this one burn.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
They wanted to sucker us into excitement and buying tickets.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
I called the team and told them those 24 games I went to last year will be 0. I said I'd be at Wrigley more this season and hung up. The Joy's of a Cubs fan SO. I even talked them into watching several Sox games live.

Why you should not want Reinsdorf to sell the SOX
Maybe it's better. They also wouldn't pay for trash either.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Padres, Giants, LA all Cali teams in the NL. Good night sweet Princes.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
I'm wearing this facemask so that you won't be shocked by the BS I'm saying.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Many teams want Harper, but don't need him. We need him more than any other team.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
IF this is true, we need to San Diego Philadelphia. I'm all in for double doinking the city of Philly by signing Harper and Keuchel. I'd offer this to Harper 10 Years 330 Million and opt out after 3 years. We'd have him for at least 2 years of our window and can convince him to stay during that time. If he opts out, and Eloy/Yoan/Robert are the truth, then we don't care if he opts out and leaves, although he'd likely want to stay.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
This would explain why they were mad Machado didn't sign. Since he was their second option.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
He will just say the opportunity just wasnt available and the timing isn't right at this point. There will be more opportunities in the future to spend the money.
