Everyone has family issues, illnesses, and worse. That's part of life, not baseball. I am not sure how to take the explanation/excuse that his wife had a miscarriage. First of all, broadcasting private family medical matters is just plain wrong, especially to that extent. He invaded his own wife's privacy. Secondly, that is not a legit excuse for his own foibles as a baseball player. Sorry for his wife's miscarriage, but life is a tough road, especially for some of us...and that is nothing but a bump in the road in the grander scheme.
