  1. Looks bad folks, real bad.
  2. Did you watch the game last night?
  3. Bennet is tough. He is making several perfect pitches. It may take several innings to get to him. Davis has to hold 'em while the Sox try to figure this guy out.
  4. Chase and Sam have to be in the line-up almost every game, regardless of the R/L platoon stats.
  5. I hope that the RH hitting platoon line-up works tonight. Sometimes it is better to just start the best players...i.e., Antonacci who had 3 hits yesterday. Perez made a great catch in RF last night so hopefully, he brings his D in CF. Would be nice if he hits as well.
  6. We are still in this game, IF Noah can go 5 without any more damage.
  7. I have been more positive pre-game when the opposing starter is RH.
  8. Trump injected politics. Not enough. They got blown out.
  9. Stats can be used to make almost any point, depending on one's agenda. For example, there are any number of current and former starting mlb players, including some of the great ones, that had/have lopsided splits. It's just a weak point.
  10. Getz has been better than I expected at talent evaluation and outstanding at employing "lateral thinking" to solve problems, something I would bet you guys are familiar with in your professions. Getz screws up by trading Robert Jr. to obtain Acuna believing that he would be a good switch-hitting CF. Of course he doesn't switch hit and has issues gauging flyballs. Getz quickly acknowleges his mistake and pulls a banana out of his @ss to play CF. Peters has been the best CF we have had out there since crash Rowand or Chet the Jet, and he has been a notable clutch hitter. Another example of lateral thinking was putting Antonacci in LF. Some argued he would be a defensive liability. Yes, but overall getting Sam in the line-up along with Chase has worked out. Finally, the Dominguez signing which looks like a big mistake. OK, move Grant Taylor to Closer and perhaps bring up McDougal to bolster the back of the bullpen. Fans including myself have been critical of Getz et. al. but then look up - we are in First Place.
  11. Door Number 1. Most likely. Sox will not need any more LH bats once Murakami comes back. (LH bats: Colson, Murakami, Teel, Antonacci, Braden, Benintendi) Need a RH bat so Perez stays for the time being. There is no evidence that Gonzalez can play second base at the major league level. There is defensive value in a set infield including positioning, range adjustments, covering second and double plays. '69 Cubs: Santo, Kessinger, Beckert and Banks..2005 White Sox: Crede, Uribe,Iguchi Konerko 2006 White Sox: Vargas, Montgomery, Chase and Murakami. All worked together hand and glove. - Need Acuna more than Gonzo for infield defense, speed on the bases, and his slightly improved RH bat. Sure, if Benintendi were to be traded Gonzo could platoon at DH. That's not going to happen now though, so back to Door #1. Edited to add that it may be more likely that Gonzo gets traded than Benintendi (age, Benintendi's existing contract). I guess we will wait to see if there is interest in either one of them in exchange for pitching.
  12. The issue now is what to do with Dominguez. The Sox cannot afford to let him blow any more games.
  13. And during this momentum swinging huge game, where was Seranthony? Counting the spoils of his 2 year $20 Million dollar windfall ? JR and Getz not happy. What to do?
  14. Will CSHN have a postgame?
  15. Credit to Venable for managing this team to victory.
  16. Split at Cleveland defending first place. Sox can and will be better.
  17. Fvk my nerves. That was a great win.
  18. Sox playing like they just don't want to take this game. Bases loaded and they fold up. I'm stressed out.
  19. Thankfully, Grant Taylor took Seranthony's spot. That said, what role does Dominguez have moving forward? The guy that comes in when there is a "less stressful situation?" How many of those have the Sox had lately? Dominguez last performance was a joke...bouncing a wild pitch before it hit home plate, walking two batters that ended up scoring and winning the game for CLE. Yea Getz signed him to a 2 year deal, but his patience has to be wearing thin with Dominguez. He has become a liability.
