  1. Luck first career HR by a no-name Yankee, Mindless send by our third base coach, the usual walks by Noah who reached his sorry 3.5 inning limit, Pereira swinging at air - looked like he should not have been promoted, Quero asleep at the wheel and just bad all around, ...anyway, the game should have been much closer but you have to play to win games, not just avoid losing. Try to win two games or maybe at least one against the depleted Yankee team.
  2. Weather diminished Sox attendance but somehow some azzhole Yankee/Cub fans made it out there.
  3. Should have put Ant in here.
  4. Frustrating game. Get the lead and pizz it away. It is looking all too familiar.
  5. Junior Perez hits a home run and then this guy comes up. WTTF.
  6. Work so hard to get that lead and Noah pissing it away with walks.
  7. Not too many fans will bother heading out to the park if this weather keeps up. Why pay to get soaked?
  8. OK, Venable starting a few extra RH hitters, but hate not starting Antonacci.
  9. Pereira in CF. R Grichuk (R) LF M Murakami (L) 1B M Vargas (R) 3B C Montgomery (L) DH C Meidroth (R) 2B B Montgomery (S) RF E Pereira (R) CF E Quero (S) C L Acuña (R) SS
  10. Weather forecasts are all over the place.
  11. Venable, like other Managers, adheres pretty strictly to Righty/Lefty - Lefty/Righty splits in making a line-up, That's fine, but IMO, every decision in formulating a starting line-up should not always be grounded on split stats mainly because starting pitchers seldom last past 5 innings any more. Also some hitters , like Antonacci who has bad splits, just seems to get dialed in when the game is on the line. I would never pinch hit for Antonacci. Let him grind at the plate, maybe get a hit, a walk, or HBP.
  12. Colson at 3b? LOL. Why?
  13. First inning will be telling. Pena, Alvarez, Paredes and then the second time through...if Fedde is still pitching. High humidity greases the ball for home runs. Might be over early.
  14. Getz has to trade for a catcher. No time to left to lose. (cue the Guess Who "No Time")
  15. After Teel's third injury, I am thinking that the Sox brass may have moved on from considering him as the starting catcher for the next few seasons. IF that is the case, then a trade for Hunter Goodman, for example might make sense. Then Goodman become the starting catcher with Teel as back-up. It is what it is. Teel's legs have not held up and that cannot be ignored.
  16. Can Fedde make it through the Astros line-up twice? Can he avoid game changing home runs with men on base? Can the White Sox survive the potential curse of three consecutive 666th innings? I fear the bitches broom is lurking in the 'Stros dugout while the wand has lost its magic.
  17. I wonder if Getz could work a trade for Hunter Goodman from the Rockies. That would be a game changer.
  18. I doubt JR had ANY idea about the potential value that Tatis Jr had and certainly neither KW nor Hahn did. I was pleading to not take on Shields without even knowing about Tatis Jr.
  19. KW and Hahn negligently included Tatis Jr in the trade to get Shields...not JR. It was a fireable offense.
  20. Hunter Brown is a Detroit native that, like a lot of other Michiganers,/Tiger fans, grew up hating the White Sox. That may in part explain why he is something like 5-0 career against the White Sox. He looked like a man on a mission in that game...98, 97. 96 mph fastballs with movement on the corners and a sick 85 mph off-speed pitch, also thrown for a strike. He was basically unhittable. It felt like that series that Boston swept us where Payton Tolle just dominated our line-up. The only way to beat a pitcher who is throwing like that is by holding them scoreless and scratching out a run or two. And of course, not giving away runs with errors and bad defense.
