  1. No, McGuire.
  2. Injury to Kirk possibly cost the BJays both games with critical errors by Tyler Heinenman. Kirk suffered a dislocated and fractured thumb so he will be out for a while. So BJays probably need two catchers. Reese McGuire is available, Call Getzy.
  3. He misses his countrymen and buddy, Luis Robert Jr.
  4. Foolish to allow Kay to face Vlad L to R...and then take him out two batters later. A day late and 2 bucks short...and maybe the ballgame.
  5. The "reason" you believe Antonacci should play 2B is based on your opinion that he would be a better player there (?) and your belief that Vaughn's outfield experience somehow hurt his development as a first basemen. However, consider that Vaughn and Antonacci have different profiles - Vaughn is a tank, the slowest player on the team while Antonacci, although not a burner, can run the bases and cover ground in the outfield. Second, a spot in the infield is not in the cards for Ant. Sox have a lot of infielders, infield prospects (like Billy Carlson) and future pick Roch Chowlowsky. Let's not ignore a logjam that would block Ant from possibly ever being called up. At the same time, Benintendi has defensive issues in the outfield. That is why the White Sox have asked Sam to put on an outfielder's glove in AAA and see if he can work out there. I want to see Ant called up, but let's see how Ant in the outfield plays out.
  6. Very exciting Home Opener and a very memorable win for fans. Great to beat the 2025 American League Champion BJays and Dylan Cease. Loved the Sox walking them off. It was a great day.
  7. As fans, we can do our own talent evaluation and come to our own conclusions based on everything we have access to - videos of the player's games plus all kinds of stats. Nothing is definitive and no one has a crystal ball. I have been following Sam for a little while and have been impressed with, among other things, his bat speed and power. Look how he turns on this pitch and hits a bomb: MiLB.comSam Antonacci's first Triple-A homer | 03/28/2026White Sox No. 9 prospect Sam Antonacci swats his first Triple-A homer for CharlotteSo, maybe Sam proves to be a marginal major league talent. Even if that turns out to be the case, if I am GM, I want him on the team. Why? He brings a lot of energy to the game like Kyle Teel does. Sam runs the bases like his hair is on fire (not with plus speed but with a purpose) and at the least, he can temporarily fill a position that is in need - LF.
  8. "As much as we hate it, it's obvious that most paying customers these days will take those faults in exchange for a ballpark with lots of character in an area with lots of nightlife." The demographics around Wrigley include a lot of younger couples and singles. That really works well with the bars, night clubs and night life in that area. I don't think that dynamic (between younger fans and a hip area) can be replicated at the 78 or across the canal at the Amtrak site. Of course, bars and restaurants could be built anywhere but Wrigley and Wrigleyville are unique. I'm too old for that scene any more but I once was, so I get it.
  9. 100% Lessons should have been learned during all the years since Don Drysdale said ""Go get 'em, Dago!" when LaRussa came out of the dugout to argue with an umpire. Fast forward to 2026, the best policy one should maintain, especially if one is a public figure, is to assiduously avoid even the appearance of bigotry or intolerance of others... like Said said.
  10. Maybe JR is not going to turn it over during his lifetime, and maybe never if his son Michael and Mellody Hobson/George Lucas step in and build a Domed stadium somewhere. Star wars.
  11. I am working on giving my tickets to the Opener away to some friends since we can't go Friday. I consider it as a sunken cost for being a loyal Sox fan for a few decades. I imagine that there will be a lot of empty seats for the delayed Opener on Friday. Another shot in the nuts.
  12. Imagine there are plenty of Sox fans with flaming derrieres, blue balls, busted balls, passed balls, pass balls, past balls, whatever, in part because of the apparent lack of energy or attention to detail by some of our players/pitchers, the stoic duck billed Manager peering out of the dugout, and that clip of Getz squirming uncomfortably like he had hemorrhoids or something up in some box seat in Milwaukee.
  13. Some here were cocksure that Acuna would be the CFer this season, I guess by default. . Dude lacks basic outfield skills...same as Baldwin. Not sure why Acuna's lack of arm strength was not noted by Venable and the coaches during ST. Acuna is a butcher on defense and is not good enough to displace any player on the roster, unless he can possibly pitch. I do not enjoy being so negative about The Sox but it's time for a few heads to roll.
  14. Looking at the schedule, I was concerned about a slow start and made a post about that. Now coming into Chicago with the rain for the Opener against the Jays....This is depressing for us fans.
  15. The short guy behind the tall guy should have caught that? OK.
  16. Neither Acuna nor Bennintendi belong in the OF...ever.
  17. Not a stolen base. Pass Ball.
  18. Well that's your opinion on what might have been. Player was too short to even make a competitive play there, And what about the two errors he made on subsequent plays that inning? Could might have made those as well?
  19. Right behind him is not the best position for the diminutive infielder to make a catch. Look, he isn't an outfielder, never was and never will be.
  20. Acuna was no where near catching the ball. Look, he's not an outfielder. How many bad plays do we need to figure that out? 3 in one inning allowing the Marlins to turn the game around?
  21. Not sure about that. He heard little footsteps .
  22. Venable out-managed, over and again. LH reliever struck out two lefties, then Venable allows Benny to bat and whiff on the same sweeper trash. Not a good in-game Manager. Acuna is a butcher in CF. Two errors and interfered with the RFer making him miss...all in the same critical and possibly decisive inning. Maybe try Tristan Peters out there.
  23. Over many years...I have NEVER tuned in or out of a game because of an announcer. I want to watch baseball, not listen to BS.
