I have two words for Ishbia...f off.

It is as clear as light the proposed relocation the massive RR yard was promulgated for a private business purpose, not for a RR purpose. The proposal is arrogant and shockingly untimely as residents have to choose between attending that meeting or a game a few blocks away - a game for first place during a pennant race. And then there is the irony of "South side" jerseys at that game knowing that Ishbia plans to move the team from the South side. Minimally it shows Ishbia is oblivious to the South side identity that White Sox fans have, and that was long before Ishbia was a Tiger fan in Michigan or had a deal to purchase the Minnesota Twins, his soccer franchise or part ownership in an NBA team. Sox fans that enjoy tailgating will not be happy during the upheaval for the next year or two, and maybe forever. This is going to be a deal breaker for some. Ishbia attending one meeting with his high priced attorneys and surrogates after he has already decided what he will do, is folly. Opposing this will be like opposing a ballroom or the big arch in our nation's capitol. This country is increasingly being run by big banks and billionaires. Stand down South side. Ishbia will have his hand in Sox fan's wallets for everything in and around the Railyard, and of course, that was and is his motive for pushing this absurd plan. Have fun diving into the Chicago river to retrieve a home run. You know, it will be just like McCovey cove by the Bay Bridge and Pacific ocean, only unsafe due to sewage overflows during heavy rains.

Ishbia doesn't know Chicago, the South side, the White Sox or anything about running a MLB franchise. Things could deteriorate for this franchise for years to come after he pulls off this shot.

Sam took it upon himself to position himself to play ridiculously shallow and lean toward Center. Rocchio saw the gap and dumped the ball out there. Arguably it was the Manager's responsibility to call for a "no doubles defense" and motion Sam to play back. It is too simplistic to blame Sam for not having the physical skills to play the outfield. He can play out there but he has to be smarter. He took it upon himself to make a decision that cost the game.

Bulshit. Only a speed demon makes that play when they are positioned that shallow and leaning toward Center. He was positioned in the wrong place but was he to blame for that? The defensive positioning is dictated in large measure by how a batter is being pitched. The Manager and bench Manager are responsible for that. Taylor pitched Rochhio a high down the middle fastball where he could stick the head of his bat out and hit it oppo.... like a lot of LH hitters do on a pitch in that location. The field positioning dictated pitching Rochhio inside.

Sox would not be in the race if it wasn't for Chase and Antonacci in the same line-up. There are trade-offs in defense to be made for Antonacci who is learning a new position, but he hits the ball and competes, so he deserves to be out there. Of course another outfielder could make a better play, but let's not forget, Sam was 2 for 4 today with an RBI and 1 for 3 yesterday with a stolen base. And he is a rookie. Chase has been stellar at times at second base and has been clutch at the plate. So it is what it is. My thinking before games is that you do not allow certain players to beat you, like Rochhio. IMO...Rochhio should not be given a pitch near the zone to hit, especially with a chance to beat you. Maybe unintentionally/intentionally walk him. I'd take my chances with bases loaded and Hicks against Kwan, but hindsight is always 20/20. My 2 cents.

Very sad about the last run of games. Hard to watch them any more to be honest. I am trying to maintain positivity in my life and these losses just depress me.

It is obvious from a cursory examination of the subject AI rendering, that it lacks detail, scale (understandable) or any effort to incorporate the historical details from the architect of Wrigley and Comiskey, or Daniel Burnham. So what are the dimensions of the stadium, the outfield dimension, the distance to streets, rr tracks, etc.? IMO this AI design looks like a rush job probably motivated by pending financial matters or deadlines (the lease expiring in 2029?) Unfortunately there was no thought given to distracting attention from this year's pennant run. But this is all about the Ishbias, not about anything or anyone else. Interesting that the White Sox were reportedly "Completely unaware" of the scope of Amtrak's plans in Bridgeport/Armor Park. The excuses provided to residents by Ishbia's attorneys and surrogates cannot be taken seriously. Low noise levels? Uh, no. Anyone who lives or has lived near RR tracks (let alone a RR facility like the CN facility in Harvey) knows the sound steel wheels on RR tracks, RR brakes, and the vibration from moving RR cars that resonates for miles. I am glad that opposition to this absurd, rushed plan appears to be growing and more people contacting their elected officials. As Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas said" “How would you like it if somebody went up to Winnetka or somebody went to Naples, Florida, and put a railroad right in front of your house?.” Mike Quigley said “Last week I met Amtrak and said you do need a new maintenance facility, but not here,” I don't like Schriff and hope he is not back, but I will cop his line "South side Stand-up"....stand up to this foolish, rushed plan. It was promulgated for the benefit of one man, not RR interests but Ishbia's personal and business interests Hopefully Ishbia ("Dr. Detroit") rethinks this extremely arrogant and foolish plan. A respite from this insane push might cause him to consider another site, perhaps somewhere near the shores of Lake Michigan where a similar swap with the Park District or private land owners could be done...like he did or tried to do in Winnetka. Stop forcing a rail road facility where it doesn't belong. Stop angering people and setting back years of progress in these South side neighborhoods.

Of course, and the historic Armor Square Field House is right next to the proposed 60 acre bone yard. Hey, I am a life-long White Sox fan that genuinely cares about my team. Ishbia has a cadre of high priced attorneys, surrogates, and media people out there working this. Go ahead but I am not backing down from what I see as just plain wrong - an abuse by an entitled billionaire who owns or has an interest in parts of three professional sports franchises.

Nobody is obsessed or unhinged but Ishbia. I am sure as a Chicagoan, you understand that driving into the loop, even from a few miles out let alone from the suburbs, carries other potential consequences, e.g,. some long time fans may find it inconvenient or for whatever reason, may not go there with the frequency they do now. If that happens, then what? I see a lot of the Loop during the day and don't need to drive back there at night.

But cut to the chase here, Ishbia is moving the stadium for his own personal and business reasons, not for the benefit of anyone else. He wants to own the stadium and everything around it...for profit. Maybe he can mollify some who oppose this with a float in next years Southside Irish parade, but maybe prepare to duck tomatoes. "The railyards spot, the retro-ish stadium, correcting the sins of New Comiskey" Maybe you have not been to Rate Field because, after many millions in updates, it has become a great place to watch games, to tailgate prior to games, and to gather in the extremely large outfield concourses. As far as "sins",LOL, the Pope who grew up in Dolton and attended a World Series game in 2005 has made sure Rate field is hallowed ground. His brother, a great Sox fan himself, lives out in New Lenox. Questions: What are the outfield dimensions at this Railyard? Is there a site plan for that thing available on-line? I see the attempt to mimic brickwork details, but moving the park to that odd location destroys any sense of "retro.". Never forget, this thing is all about Ishbia. Some can attempt to justify this, but they cannot escape the basic fact that this thing was promulgated by Ishbia for self-serving reasons. On a lighter note, that drive for his chauffeur from Winnetka to the Rate was getting a bit too long. 😆 Ishbia's big media roll-out of his absurd plan was ill-timed and an unnecessary distraction during this Pennant race. The Chicago White Sox are called "South Side" because their home ballparks have always been located on the South Side of Chicago. (over 126 years) Even most out-of- towners can understand our Southside pride - whether from the "Southside" jerseys or the use of names of past teams like "Southside Hitmen".. The Crosstown rivalry, based in large measure on the respective Northside and Southside location of the Cubs and White Sox has fueled fan interest since that 1906 World Series. It will be a shame to lose that, possibly forever..and there is a possibility that some fan interest will be lost. So, once the team is moved to "The Railyards" it will be time to coin a new moniker and to create some promotional merchandise tied to that location. One possibility - call the team "The Rail Men." Other possible names escape me right now but I am sure others may have some suggestions. Surely one player should adopt Warren Zevon's "Night time in the switching yard" as their walk-up song. What a disaster.

The recent rendering of a substandard size open-air stadium and a proposed plan to move a 60 acre railroad bone yard to Rate field well justified your new topic. Of course a retractable dome stadium would be great.

The "Railyards" stadium as depicted is substandard, even in terms of an open-air stadium. The RF dimension is substantially limited by the distance between BNSF railroad tracks and the canal. The CF scoreboard is minimized to a great degree, apparently in order to preserve a view of the high rise buildings in the loop. What a joke. In short, the rail yards concept was limited to fit on land that Ishbia has an option to purchase... and that just isn't right. Why limit a stadium to fit on land he can acquire? Further, that option is contingent on approval by the City of moving a 60 acre railroad yard (in size, think about 60 football fields) to the parking lots of Rate field. That is insanity. The Reinsdorfs should have made (and if possible. still should make) the prospective purchase of the White Sox franchise contingent on purchasing Rate Field and the surrounding land from the ISFA (IL tax payers). That would benefit the public (taxpayers) and changed the dynamic from what is happening now - a billionaire not caring one iota about the South side home of the White Sox, and, to add an insulting blow, desecrating the area forever with a massive rail road yard. And all for what? A billionaire to build a substandard stadium on a tract he has an option to purchase? The Amtrak and BNSF rail yards were placed where they are for good reasons, and they should remain there, not be relocated to the neighborhoods of Chicago. This guy has gone too far with this. Hopefully Sox ownership, the City of Chicago, the ISFA ..should stop him in his tracks.

I looked at the architectural rendering with perhaps, a more critical eye than some others. So look again at "The "Rail yards" stadium" more critically ...if you can. First, note that the numerous train tracks that currently run through the BNSF yard to the West of this thing remain there. Therefore, the stadium is compressed East to West between the BNSF yard and the Canal. That minimizes RF seating and thus maximizes seating and the amount of decks required. The scoreboard shown is Lilliputian in scale compared to what the WSox have in CF or what the Cubs have in RF. Not many critical views of the issues surrounding this or Ishbia's proposed plans, but instead some outrage and anger directed toward me. Somebody has to stand up and I am more than happy to do that.

Ishbias (brothers and father: How about providing an architectural rendering of the proposed 60 acre rail yard including Rate Field, Armor Park and the surrounding area. This plan to move the rail yard there is bizarre. If you folks are hell bent on moving from the site where the White Sox are, find a site that does not involve this insanity. Maybe research swapping the Park District or other land owners in order to get a view of Lake Michigan rather than Willis Tower.
